To those who didn’t know, they re-dubbed episode one of DM. Same voice actors but the original Japanese script!
To clarify, this is from those uncut DVD sets released way back (I think circa 2004?); they only released the first nine episodes across three DVDs with the new dub alongside the Japanese soundtrack, and the Japanese dub but with “dubtitles”. A fourth DVD with 10-12 was planned, but never released. The dub was a lot more accurate, and they’re watchable, but the acting sometimes seems stilted (case in point: Anzu’s “Yoooou muuuust haaaave cheaaated!” here), and they’re also kinda inconsistent with the opening narration. Still, better than nothing–I’d say “or the Singapore dub” but at least they got a lot farther. :P
