  • Truth: Who is your least favorite GX character and why?
    pastaprincess

    hai-hai-sictir-deactivated20170:

Hm… I could make this easy and go with Amon… but that would be a cop-out. And he’s honestly not my least favorite character in the show. I like smarmy, snake-in-the-grass types and I particularly enjoy the fact that all of his schemes ended up exploding in his face, in the most traumatic way imaginable.

I’d probably have to go with Samejima, simply because he was: a. completely and utterly out of his depth, no matter how much he wanted to seem like the responsible, knowledgeable adult and b. he was just as much of a manipulator and schemer as Kagemaru, but the audience is expected to be sympathetic toward him because he looks like a jolly, comedic, down-to-earth guy.

At the beginning of S3, we’re treated to a good deal of his internal monologue and he states outright that he invited the likes of Cobra over to the school so he could push Judai past the limit and reveal more of his potential. He might not have known that Cobra was willing to kill every single student for the sake of an unholy bargain, but he was well aware of the other’s brutal methods and freely consented to have them used on the Academia students just so he could see what peak Yuki Judai could reach. And all of this after much of the student population had to go through brainwashing (nice of you to accept Saiou as a student and ignore the SoL, except for a very convoluted plan involving a tournament).

The guy’s basically one of the main reasons why the whole school got sent to a different dimension, the students nearly died of hunger, were brainwashed, used as canon fodder and then got sucked into a world of nihilism and despair. His poor decisions were one of deciding factors behind the appearance of Darkness and all the chaos that ensued.

TLDR: How the hell isn’t Samejima in prison by the end of GX? Or at least summarily fired?
