wahhhh Leo’s conversation with Z-one 😭 This kid so full of earnest hope that was strong enough to yank Aporia’s brain out of the dark at it again….. “You’re not alone anymore” makes me WAIL!! Especially since this Z-one ISN’T alone; he doesn’t have to die in this world!! His friends are here and the future can be saved!!!
And the fact Leo’s enthusiasm and steadfast belief in his friends is enough to actually give Z-one pause, even a little bit….getting to openly admit his trust needs to be earned is progress! More progress than some have made!!

Also cannot stop thinking about Kalin’s conversation with Z-one–this notion of Kalin effectively being like “oh what, you’re suicidal?? you don’t want to be alive anymore? me too you old bitch you’re not special. let’s take our antidepressants….together.” this nebulously post-canonish Kalin making strides to manage his own issues to the point where he’s willing and able to connect with someone similar (and who woulda thought these two would have much in common!!)

A.) so so cool that they gave Z-one voicelines for summoning Yusei’s dragon(s), B.) really REALLY cool that one of them is for Delta Accel Synchro since that’s what his timeline’s Yusei used, C.) ABSOLUTELY ENDLESSLY FANTASTIC THAT THEY MADE HIM SAY ‘LET’S REV IT UP.’ DELIGHTED. OVERJOYED!!!

finally able to hear Z-one’s english taunts in DL and god. GOD. The delivery on this one makes me mourn that we never got a dubbed version of the Z-one/Aporia duel so, SO BAD!!!!! The cold cruel delight in the way he says this!!!!!

Man, by the time Yusei ends up at Rua and Ruka’s place in episode 12, he has had a rough couple of days, hasn’t he? Escaped Satellite while being pursued by a rabid security officer, had a big duel with Jack that ended up summoning a supernatural entity and throwing them both off their runners, got thrown into prison, got humiliated by the prison chief and tortured twice, ended up staying with a dubious guy he found through a shady bar for a little while (Saiga/Blister ily but you are dubious), stole his runner back from security, got chased by a rabid security officer again, got electrocuted on the way out for the third time only to end up crashing into a trash heap. I’m honestly surprised he wasn’t knocked unconscious sooner.
