It wasn’t enough that he murdered his own girlfriend that now he’s gotta behead Judai’s yandere ex-girlfriend and dedicate her head to his own dead girlfriend like a trophy.
I don’t much like Amon or Echo, but I do appreciate how they were written. They were written so you would not like them, but at the same time you can’t help but feel sorry for both of them.
Amon had these feelings of jealousy and hatred for his little brother Sid, who gained favor with their parents because he was their blood son while Amon was adopted. If Sid did not exist, Amon would inherit everything, the company, wealth, and power. Amon chose not to kill his little brother because Echo told him he was not worthless when he felt like he was. Since then, he chose to bury that hatred and jealousy so that he would live for Sid, but these feelings and desire for power transferred to Echo, and she now carries these feelings that Amon threw away. She’s like the embodiment of Amon’s inner darkness. And the path they they are now on will lead them both to their downfall.
Clouds definitely symbolize the ordeal that Amon went through as a child since he always watched them before being adopted by Goa Garam. But I wonder if his Cloudian deck is also to remind him of this ordeal and how he should always be grateful for everything his adoptive father did for him?
I think that not only it symbolizes the ordeal he went through, the moment he waited to die; but also how he shrouds his own emotions in clouds. I’ve just done a quick research on them and found some interesting stuff
In real life clouds affect our moods. Clouds can make us feel whimsical and dreamy, or they can be oppressive, frightening, and threatening. Clouds can be mysterious, or clouds can be lazy.
Clouds frequently symbolize the element of air, which is associated with higher thought, intellectual ideas, and abstract thinking. (That’s one reason you see so many clouds in the Swords cards.)
Rain clouds sometimes symbolize doom, gloom, and disaster, and clouds can obscure our vision and dim our optimism. However, every cloud really does have a silver lining: rain can be cleansing, too. Rain can bring healing. And rain can also guarantee fertility and health.
In a similar vein, storm clouds may symbolize the lightning flash of inspiration, or the thunderclap of an unavoidable realization.
Clouds are symbols of change. Clouds constantly come and go, and they tend to move fast. When you see a cloud you’re looking at a symbol of something that is transitory and short-lived.
Clouds are ephemeral. They leave no trace, and they have nothing to do with the past. That’s an especially powerful symbol for people who are plagued by guilt about events in the past; no one can be blamed for the clouds in the sky.
Clouds are veils. Clouds hide objects in their depths, and clouds hide objects behind and beyond their scope. A cloudy reading could be a sign that a client is clouding his or her real question or concern.
Clouds separate the world above from the world below. By studying the clouds in the tarot, we can raise our consciousness and peer into a world beyond the clouds.
The clouds in tarot cards also remind us that the world above and the world below actually make up one world. The symbolism behind the clouds can help us examine our lives from a higher perspective.
I have started to like Ed a lot more throughout the last two episodes. Despite everything that has happened he wants to help Judai because he had also helped him and Saiou. Also, he cared about Echo, whom he has just met, and wants to prevent Amon from sacrificing her.
And in the scene above, my jaw dropped and I really had to pause because it left such an impression on me. Killing someone because of power is basically what had happened to Ed’s dad, and this explains his reaction right here.
Additionally, Judai (who has been quiet and emotionless throughout the duel) realizes that Amon is going to do the same mistake that he did and tells him to stop (the sound of Judai’s voice at that moment almost made me cry D:).
And Amon… I never liked him.
This is one of the episodes I am going to remember, because it was so powerful and heartbreaking (actually, many parts of this season are). It really left an impression on me and I cannot even put it in words properly.
