It looks like Judai’s speech about what he’s learned has gotten Asuka thinking about her own situation again now too. She’s probably right that staying would be the safer option since it’s a place she knows so well. But she thinks about how her friends will be going out into the world and having new experiences and that’s what she could have too if she went to the other school.

Judai clearly doesn’t realize that he might have done anything to upset her at all. :\ And while I guess it’s true that it doesn’t really matter which card he actually used, the fact that he didn’t even bother to check what Asuka had at all is pretty rude. Not that I’m saying he’s deliberately trying to be rude, I don’t think that’s the case at all. It’s just that he’s only relying on himself in the duel, which you can’t do if you’re supposed to be playing as a team.

Like, if you don’t really want to do this, Judai, then just say so. Or make up an excuse like you don’t feel well or something.

Ouch, yeah, Judai really is stuck in the mindset now that winning is all that matters in the duel. Which is certainly understandable but also very sad at the same time because he can’t see them now as anything else but a means to an end. These pair duels are supposed to be fun for everyone involved but Judai is just getting them over as quickly as possible because he’s learned that’s what he has to do.

It’s also kind of painful because at the end of last season Judai was giving speeches to Yubel about how important his friends are to him and how believing in the power of your friends was part of what dueling is. But now he’s not trusting in Asuka’s power or letting her help him at all and he doesn’t even realize that he’s causing a problem by doing this. I’m glad that Asuka has finally vented to him about it though. Maybe that will help change something. Judai certainly needs help in trying to achieve a more healthy way of thinking about duels and being able to have fun with them again. ;__;

Ouch, well her patience has finally reached its limit. Although unfortunately her timing is kind of bad since she interrupts him right when he was starting to have a breakthrough. :\

She definitely has every right to be angry at him for ruining her strategy though. She’s been a good partner so far and tried to set up strategies he could make use of, but the one time she makes a strategy for herself he goes and ruins that too. This could have been avoided if you would have JUST CHECKED HER CARD YOU KNOW JUDAI.

But this is also rather sad to see because they really aren’t connecting or understanding where the other is coming from at all right now, and that’s definitely the main cause of this problem.

He was certainly trying to stay away in order to keep them safe but I think another part of it probably was that he still feels guilty over what happened to them last season and that he thought they wouldn’t really want anything to do with him anymore after all of that. But the others have chosen to forgive him and still do want to help him because they care. And of course they all want to be able to protect their school as well.

Asuka Tenjouin from YGO GX by MegaHouse. The figure will be part of the new LUCREA series of the company and will be in pre-order from 25 October 2019 at the price of 14630 yen limited. The first edition will have a keychain in the shape of her Duel Disk as a bonus. The figure will measure 24 cm and should have the same scale as Judai and Yusei from the Amakuni company (then you will see why different companies are always difficult to match)
