And if you ever wanted to see evidence of this show’s character development, without waiting till seasons 3 and 4, just look at Cronos in episode 50 as compared to episode 1(the end and beginning of season 1).

You can tell that he’s changed just from how he speaks and interacts with the characters. Hayato too.

Hell, around the start of the Seven Stars arc you can see him beginning to change, especially in his treatment of Judai. All of the ‘must have him kicked out’ seems to have vanished.

The character growth and development in this show is great.

season 1 Chronos would have jumped at the chance to punish Judai the moment he tried to skip class but in season 4 Judai is skipping weeks of class and Chronos does nothing because he knows Judai needs time to recover and that he’ll come back when he’s ready.
