This is the new character book, which images of have been floating around that I hadn’t realised was this book until I saw it in the shops today. It’s not technically out until tomorrow (17th July) according to this months V-JUMP though I’d entirely forgot about that announcement anyway!
For now I’ve only taken pictures of the cover and dust jacket and the colour pages inside that are about the new movie - Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions.
There were a couple more pages on this more magazine like paper but they just had writing on so I didn’t bother with them! Unfortunately, I don’t currently have a scanner so this is the best I can do but I hope people will enjoy the images. I’m hoping to translate some of the profiles at a later date (the box with age, birthday, favourite and least favourite food) but nothing more as it’s far too complicated for me!
So I’ll be using this tag - millennium book - on my blog so you can keep checking back for updates if you like. Also yes, most of the Ancient Egyptian characters now have birthdays, however because they’re given according to an Ancient Egyptian calendar they’re hard to translate on account of the Egyptians not accounting for leap years. Also, their new year was around our 7th January (so Atem’s birthday would probably be the 26th July not the 19th like I’ve seen).
I’m glad to finally get a good look at this scouter-like thing that Seto and Yuugi have. And was nice to see the updated design for Otogi - I haven’t seen them floating about yet - though I’ve got no idea if he’ll show up in the movie as I’ve not seen the trailer! And the art in general is just gorgeous. Also, it’s nice to see Takahashi-sensei’s style translated to a more anime style where he’s done the updated designs for everyone, I just find it really interesting!
Also gotta add that I LOVE how Yuugi’s eyes are smaller and looking more Atem-like as he grows up, precious baby!
