Yes, exactly, Judai has it right there. You can never be certain of what the future will hold for you and maybe there will be failure and hard times. Being afraid of the future is a natural thing to feel but you have to try to find your way anyway instead of giving in to that fear.
The similar appearance will be even more obvious once his hood his down.
Judai is literally about to play a game of Yugioh against The Devil. As in, the-devil-formally-known-as-Lucifer.
(This is why I think Saiou’s prediction in the past might have been about S4, because he ended up being manipulated by the actual figure that tarrot card depicts.)
OHHHHHH DAMN
I DID THINK THE SHAPE OF HIS SKULL REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING BUT COULDN’T REMEMBER WHAT O______O
Yeah, seeing Darkness’ true form now it does make even more sense why you would think that. It certainly would fit pretty well. ;____;
I like how Judai is quick to point out that he really isn’t stronger than anyone else in this regard, that he’s capable of giving in to despair as well. And it was that experience he went through back then that helped him remember how important bonds are and that they can help keep you going in times of need.
…Okay, I can buy a lot of things about Yugioh lore. But are you seriously trying to tell me right now that the universe was created by a friggin Duel Monsters card?????
