All right, so with everything up-and-loaded over on Cloudy Videa, the downside is that they don’t have a playlist function to organize everything like on Dailymotion.  Enter this post, where you’ll find all the links sorted out by seasons! I’ll be updating it as I upload my finalized Season 1+ episodes in the coming weeks, so check the original post periodically or keep an eye on the notes for any reblogs of it I do so you’re aware of any updates.  Also, keep in mind that you can download these from NAC, since I post all my downloads there!

Also, Crunchyroll has begun to roll out official GX subs as of 8/1/15! This is excellent news for the fandom, and while you’re more than welcome to continue watching my subs, be sure to give their subs at least one watch to show support for the official release.  You can also just have their video playing on a muted tab while you watch my version! (As of Fall 2022, it seems Crunchyroll has put their YGO uploads behind a paywall, so if you don’t have Crunchyroll Premium, you’re unable to fully view them.  Unfortunate choice on their part, imo, given it’s currently the only place to view officially subbed episodes, but welp.)

LATEST UPDATE (1/21/23): Happy 2023! Finalized!Episodes 1-88 now on the list, with 87 and 88 newly finalized.  Also reuploaded episodes 75, 82, 83, and 86 to mostly correct some more minor script inconsistencies (see the corresponding reblog for a quick rundown), and corrected a recently-updated link or two that I noticed erroneously linked to different episodes.  Finalizing Season 2′s now halfway through, so stay tuned as we revisit these!

1/21/23: Masterpost has been updated with finalized 87 and 88! Along with correcting the links for episodes 9 and 54 which erroneously linked to other episodes (everything should be good now, but as always, let me know if you spot anything–also, remember to check the original post itself for the most up-to-date links!), I also reuploaded a few episodes to make the minor updates below:

• 75: I had Sugoroku’s intro line to Judai and co as “Indeed–I am Sugoroku Mutou,“ but he didn’t actually use his last name; removed "Mutou” from the line.
• 82: Had been using “Bro” for the Ojamas’ “aniki” for Manjoume, but let the original “Big Bro” I’d used slip through; revised a few lines accordingly. Similarly, I’d been using “Big Brother” when Shou calls Ryou “oniisan” directly, used in lowercase when he’s talking about him, but had him use “Brother” in the preview for 83 by accident, which I corrected.
• 83: Reprisal of the Shou “Big Brother” thing in 82 for one of Shou’s lines before the OP.
• 86: One earlier case of the card error with Kabukid having Dramatic Pose in his hand after having used it, which I fixed into New Year Drum again.

TURN-87: Fight, Ojama Trio! (Part 1)

Manjoume faces off with a pro duelist, winning overwhelmingly using the White Knight Swordsman he wields as a member of the Society of Light.  Seeing that Judai was watching his duel, Manjoume requests a bout with him, but Judai notices that the Ojama Trio aren’t in Manjoume’s deck.  He tracks down the Ojama Trio’s cards, knowing that Manjoume cared for them, and thinks of using their cards to try and return Manjoume to normal.  And so, with the Ojama Trio in tow, Judai and Manjoume duel at last.

TURN-88: Fight, Ojama Trio! (Part 2)

As a member of the Society of Light, Manjoume uses the White Knight Lord card entrusted to him by Saiou to pummel Judai incessantly.  Meanwhile, Judai fights defensively, using the Ojama Trio cards that Manjoume had cared for.  Despite all the attacks he takes, Judai presses on with the Ojama Trio, who appeal to Manjoume about the fact that they were friends.  And then… seeing the rough state the Ojama Trio have been beaten into, Manjoume at last comes to his senses.

(EDIT, 3/9/23: Re-uploaded 88 to correct a sub typo I missed before Judai uses Mystic Wok, and also updated “Cyber Dark Horn” in the preview to “Cyberdark Horn” to match its use in 89.)

New year, new finalized episodes~

My subs for 87 and 88 are now revised and finalized as we get 2023 underway, and it’s a pretty good duo of episodes.  Judai and Manjoume finally have a rematch to settle their score–well, they would if Manjoume remembered what that score was–and in the process, Judai works to snap him out of his Society of Light brainwashing by using the Ojamas.  Of course, he promptly gets thrown under the bus by them once it works, but they did fight hard to save him; Judai even said stuff that was kinda touching! I do still like the bit where Judai tells Manjoume how angry he is with himself that he couldn’t even tell that his friends lost and were in such dire straits that they joined the SoL (a shame the dub wrote that out), and Ojama Yellow–as beat-up as he is–pleading with Manjoume to remember them before he eventually reclaims his sense of self is such a good scene, between Mariko Nagahama’s acting, the music, and the pained “Manjoume…” (ie, “Listen to the guy…”) from Judai in response.  I also do love how Manjoume’s all “If they want to be clean, I’ll be the thorn in their side soiling things a little!” [paraphrasing], as well as the theme of having been through so much of life’s mud that of course no one would come out unstained.  (Also unfortunate that the dub decides to replace his montage of said stains and the Ojamas helping him overcome them with a focus on Society of Light stuff.)

(Also, fun fact: both episodes were screenwritten by Shin Yoshida, who does get some ire in other parts of the franchise, but in GX it’s interesting that he’s actually the screenwriter for a lot of the fan-favorite episodes [he also goes on to write Dark Johan vs Ryou in Season 3, for example]; his writing both helps them feel cohesive. [They had the same Storyboarder in Noriyoshi Nakamura, too.])

Editing-wise, not as many animation/card fixes as I did for 85 and 86, but there were still a fair amount for these two, and 88 did get more in the way of card error fixes.  All told, I fixed up six errors in 87, and eight in 88.  As always, details under the cut below, if curious!

Enjoy! Next up, will be working on 89 and 90, featuring Hell Kaiser Ryou vs Fubuki (which also sets the stage for Shou’s duel against Ryou in the 90s) and getting a little wine-drunk with Sommelier Parker’s duel against Asuka and more GeneX shenanigans.  Have also been looking forward to 90 specifically to re-do one of my earliest on-screen translation edits with the better editing skills I have now, so stay tuned for that. :)

I am going to try and explain what we know of Saiou’s age, just so it’s somewhere. And no, we don’t have any official information on that matter, all we have are hints from the anime.

In the sub, the only time someone refers to Saiou’s age is here:

Where Chronos notice he’s young for a manager upon meeting him. It’s not so much the manager part that matters than that Saiou is visibly young. So we know that, in-universe, Saiou does not look like and adult.

Following that aspect, we can notice that in season 4 he looks significantly different.

Meaning that he is, indeed, at the end of his growth. The last thing we know is that, 10 years before, when he met Edo, he was still a child or teenager (no there’s no way to tell more precisely based on visuals).

So, given all that, we can give an age range: something around late teenagehood - early 20s. 17-24 maybe. Pretty much the same range as Ryo or Fubuki. You could go for the upper limit or even a bit higher by giving an explaination to the growth delay (transition, effect of the light…) though there is none in-canon.

Now, all this is in the sub. The dub change things a little. (And I don’t have screenshots for the dub because I don’t have access to an english dub with subs). 

Chronos’ comment is removed. Season 4 doesn’t exist. Instead, we have Chronos commenting in ep 73 “he’s a bit older than our average freshman” which I take as meaning he does look like an adult in this universe.

Finally, while we do have the flashback up there (where Saiou talk about his premonition), we don’t have the ones from the graveyard. So this one could be anytime after. Still, Saiou was still a child or teenager when Edo was a kid. So he could be pretty much anywhere in his 20s, likely between 23-27.

So how old is Saiou? It entirely depends on what canon you want to follow. If you’re more into the sub canon, he’s a late teen or very young adult. If you’re into dub canon, he’s a young adult.

And if you’re wondering how that’s possible with how he looks, the truth is he only looks old because of his terrible health. Once he’s not looking like a walking corpse, he does look younger (and very cute).
