I regret to inform that the infamous “flesh-surpassing power of the D!” line was a mistranslation 😔 (Old line on the left, finalized revised line on the right)
(lol, but really, the line, in response to Judai’s “Are the D-Heroes powerless against Mizuchi, too?”, is actually “Eを超えたDの力をなめるなよ!”/”E wo koeta D no chikara wo nameru na yo!” But when first doing episode 78 years ago, I[’m pretty sure] I misheard “E” as “mi” or “body/flesh” and so that’s how that was born, haha. This also makes sense since here, Ed’s still trying to prove his own value above Judai’s in Mizuchi’s and Saiou’s eyes.)
(Looked at Crunchyroll and they covered this line as “The power of D, which exceeds that of E… Don’t underestimate it.” which… sounds stilted to me, lol.)

.Jim and Asuka Japanese Duel Links dialogue
Asuka: Oh?
Jim: Oh! It’s Tomorrow Girl!
Asuka: Jim! And Karen, too!
Jim: Haha, it’s been a while, Tomorrow Girl! You seem well!
Asuka: You too. That said…. It’s been a while since I’ve heard that name. You surprised me.
Jim: Haha, <sorry>, <sorry>! But it’s a wonderful English translation, isn’t it?
Asuka: Um, I do think it’s original, but…
Asuka: Listen, I’ve always thought about saying this to you, but…
Jim: <What>?
Asuka: The way you always call me Tomorrow Girl… it’s kind of embarrassing, so please stop.
Jim: OOOOH NOOOOOOOOOOO!
Asuka: W…what?
Jim: <Sorry>… I’m just going through a <big shock> right now…
Jim: You’re as headstrong as ever, Tomorrow Girl…I wondered what their original convo was like and poor Jim lol. he just wants to call her Tomorrow Girl… heartbroken
One light correction to this (I translated it earlier myself for a Discord convo lol), but for Jim’s “Sorry! Sorry!” line, I translated the rest of it as “Fine English, if I do say so myself, though, isn’t it?“ (commenting on his use of English there, as he doesn’t use a word for “translation,” just “eigo”/”English” 😅)
The rest is pretty well done though!poor Jim(For context, in case anyone doesn’t know, Jim calls Asuka “Tomorrow Girl” because the “asu” in her name can translate to “tomorrow” [or “morning”]; doesn’t quite work with “Alexis” lol)
Are you sure about that? I’m not trying to contest anyone over my TL, but is he not saying 英訳 (eiyaku), not 英語 (eigo). He quite literally says translation, not just English, the latter kanji is not go. But the meaning is the same regardless.
The English version just has Jim speak in Australian slang to the point where Alexis doesn’t understand him and tells him she never really has and he’s heartbroken over it, lmao.
…OHHHH
Whoops, yeah I didn’t notice 訳 there (thanks for not kicking in early enough, morning coffee 😅), so yeah, you’re right haha; that does make sense as he asks her about the English he uses for her name. Sorry about that!
And yeah, someone pointed that out to me, and well I guess it’s the best they could handle it, but still kinda feels like some more “no time to be speaking Australian!”-level stuff, haha.
