Hmm, curious to know if there are any Italian cover artists out there or on the YouTubes who’ve done covers for Precious Time, Glory Days and Endless Dream… or who could maybe be commissioned to…

YouTube just keeps pulling up the Italian dub’s themes or some English covers of PTGD, and while they do slap, they aren’t exactly what I want lol. And I see some Spanish covers sometimes but don’t think I’ve seen Italian ones…🤔

GX Finalized-Subs!96 (WIP): 😛 (Done)

Following up on this post, got this edit all done! Once I was done with placing the new translated text, I just popped the cropped bio image into AfterEffects and Power Pinned it into place, using Zweinstein’s photo as an alignment guide to make sure I got the skewing as close to the original as I could–that let me mask in the original photo to help things blend in a bit better, while applying a light Gaussian blur for more blending (I did touch up the positioning a little since the initial post, since I wanted to make sure the DOB text was still cut off a bit like in the original shot when Ojin sets Zweinstein’s profile down). Once I got the translated bio positioned (masking in Ojin on top for the first shot and the sides of the clipboard in the second), I just copy/pasted the Pin effect and its keyframes onto the layer for the fixed (Allbert->Albert) Japanese one to instantly put it into place too, and voila. The gifs there show it in [quick] action; came out pretty well!

Also whipped one up for the dub for reasons, for the world where 4Kids didn’t just awkwardly blank (or make lines out of) some bits of text and leave others intact… (you wipe out that he’s from Germany or has B-type blood, but leave the : next to the “country of origin” and “blood type” lines… why)

Okay so Judai was hallucinating that Johan was Trueman so Johan knocked him out of it by duelling him and it’s shown entirely from Judai’s perspective so we feel Judai’s confusion over this right along with him and this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in one of these shows. It’s so clever, I don’t know how else to praise it, I love the creepy atmosphere and slow burn of this darkness arc and this little scene is such a great example of that.

Since it’s been a bit since I finalized 93-94 and I haven’t made an update on 95 and 96 yet (I spent the past few days on some animation/card error touch-ups for 95 and I’m starting now on those for 96 along with this before working on their scripts), thought I’d quickly show off this current work-in-progress: the little bio file Ojin brings out to Saiou about one Zweinsteen Zweinstein early in the episode, which I wanted to take a crack at translating. I did want to more closely mirror how I translated Ryusei Gin (Lorenzo)’s file back in episode 71, but unfortunately my SSD drive giving out back in October meant I lost the project file for it–luckily, I did post the images from it here (and could refer back to my hardsub, worst-case) so that helps.

I’m glad they were never any more than friends. Asuka may have had a crush on him, I will begrudgingly accept that that was true at some point in the series, but he didn’t ever return those feelings. He saw her as a good friend and great duelist and she was satisfied with that. It’s nice. More male female friendships please!
