His character development keeps amazing me, again and again.Dare I say he is one of the most well written characters I’ve seen in anime altogether.

Well, to a certain extent he is. ^^; Sub Kaiba is still an arrogant jerk a lot of the time and for a long time is infuriatingly dismissive of friendship and teamwork and basically anything that Yugi and the others ever tell him, just as he is in the dub. The real difference is that his growth in the Japanese version is way more obvious and interesting than in the English version, where he’s pretty much just snarks and everything and always seems annoyed by the Friendship Squad all the way up until the end of the series. In fairness to the dub, I felt like there was a bit of change for him there and that by the last episodes he had sort of started to mellow out a little but it just wasn’t a whole lot.
The sub though is another thing entirely. He comes to a really big realization and understanding about how he’s been behaving at the end of season 3, at from that point on there’s a very noticeable difference in him. He still doesn’t bother filtering his opinions or how he reacts to people, but there’s not really the same harshness or bitterness there that he had during Battle City. He’s also much more willing to work together with Atem without any objections or complaints. He may still not really understand friendship all that well but he has come to understand the power of teamwork and that dueling together with someone can make him far stronger than dueling alone would. Those are some very big steps forward for him that dub Kaiba just doesn’t ever make and that’s a real shame.
rip Yuzu’s zettai ryouiki
The return of children’s card games on motorcycles has never been so glorious
Tomato intensifies.
I’ve taken a lot of screen shots whilst watching this series (dropbox folder is full lol) and this has to be my favourite. This will make a great reaction pic for future use xD
Jounouchi’s badassness knows no bounds.
the new Yugioh protagonist has bangs beneath his other bangs and rides a purple flying hippopotamus in a cape and if that doesn’t spell quality television I don’t know what does
