I feel like whole “Why don’t they ever just fight physically” thing is made even more funny by the fact that it’s established early on in the manga that Jounouchi is an EXTREMELY strong fighter. Like, there’s literally a scene where he mentions having won a four-vs-one fight against some other delinquents, but still thinks he did poorly for getting one single bruise. That’s how strong he is

Imagine you’re friends with, like, fucking Jackie Chan, and you’re all getting murdered by some guys with trading cards, but Jackie Chan won’t do anything about it because he’s busy respecting the unspoken etiquette of card game society. That’s Joey. God bless Yugioh
