So, following up my post with the TV-Size version, I finally managed to get this uploaded from my laptop. I’ve been sitting on my translation for the song for a while and had been itching to try singing it out. I just really dig how positive this song is (may have channeled myself a bit in the translation, given how it resonates with me lol), and so I did just that a few weeks ago, then made a nice little AMV to go with it. Also hid a slight spoiler to make this more spoiler-free, though I know it’s been 10 episodes. :P
Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to give some constructive criticism, if anything haha.
I really love how you formatted your AMV; I thought it really synced with the beat of the music and all! The subtitles were also a nice touch.
But I also felt that the singing was a bit off key and I honestly did not feel much “excitement” and “power” as the original version.
Hopefully that doesn’t discourage you from doing more fan covers. Keep it up!
I totally understand, I don’t think I could’ve given it as much power as Bullettrain already did haha. I did my best to try and match how they sung it in all the different parts, but my voice can only do so much I suppose, lol.
Still, it was also kinda more to show how the lyrics I whipped up should go in action, especially if someone with the right power and “umpf” to their vocals can use my lyrics and give the song a damn good dub. And I’ll still plan on doing some more of these for that, and just for the fun of it lol.
does anyone have any tips or, like, tutorials or anything for getting videos to a reasonable size without them looking like ass
I want to stick Bismuth Crystals on MEGA or something but I can’t get the videos smaller than like 2 gigs each and that’s kind of ridiculous. P3WM is beautiful but it’s not that beautiful.
@kaiowut99 you do video shit can you help me out here ;_; ?
Download XVid4PSP! I have V.5.0.37.8, SVN Revision 128 (if you’re able to choose), and it’s perfect for these things. Load up a video, encode it using the XVid HQ Ultra setting under Video Encoding, and let ‘er rip. It’s knocked down some of the heavier 5D’s episodes from about 300-350MB to 200-250MB; depending on how long it is, it might take a while, but the result should be similar, something manageable. (should mention, I generally use it to encode to .avis) It also lets you tweak resolution, frame rate, interlace, etc. For basic reencoding, it should be fine, but if you want to get a bit more technical with frame rates and the like like I do, it’ll also take avsynth scripts.
Also, I like to tweak the saturation setting under the Color Correction gear menu to 1.1, so it has just a bit more color to it; that’s how I encode all the DVDRips I use with GX.
Hope that helps; lemme know if any questions pop up!
So I’m doing some research on looking at the files in a PSP ISO to hopefully get back to that TFSP translation I started, hoping to translate the story, the duel dialogue, etc, and getting a feel for what files are what in the game. Reading a thread on GameFAQs for 5D’s TF4 where people were talking about undoing the censoring on Aki and Misty, trying to undub it, and things like that, and it’s helpful so far; making notes as needed. The big thing is trying to figure out how to read all these .ehp and .cip and .bin files to get text out of them, or trying to decode the audio…
I’d likely try to copy the translated card info omarrio worked on (and credit him somehow, obviously), but I’m also wondering if there’d be some way to copy over the Field Magic backgrounds in the other Tag Force games, which got thinned out of TFSP. Hmm…
Question! How much would you charge for an hour and 20 minute drama cd translation? Most of the dialogue is from the manga so you could translate from scans, but there is a small chunk of content that you'd need to translate by ear. ^^;
Well, my listening’s generally pretty good; I’d probably have to just repeat the audio a few times to catch everything. And maybe once I pick up a full sentence or two, I’ll Google it to find someone transcribed everything haha.
Price-wise, hmm… I was already unsure of how to go about charging for my translations lol. I didn’t want to charge too much, but I like to think I do a great job at it… I really was hoping someone would chime in with ideas when I posted that help-me-out! post haha. I was thinking maybe 30-50 cents/sentence, but then I’d need to know how many lines are in it so I knew it wouldn’t be that much…
I’ll post this reply in case anyone has a good idea, or knows anyone who translated something that long for commissions. I’d like to try it, I just want to make sure I give you a good price!
There are now over 600 of you following me. Somehow.
And for that, I thank you!
I’m still working on some edits for GX 12 to finally get it done, I plan to keep finalizing my subs, and also adding back my 5D’s comparisons to my site and all, as well as maybe get to a project or two I’ve been putting off. But more importantly, I lost the job I got last month a few days ago, so getting a new one’ll be my priority again for now until that gets ironed out. But more card game shenanigans are sure to follow, so stay tuned!
