GX 22 Update!
Thought I should finally fill you guys in, lol.
Sorry for the lack of updates! I’ve had a hectic last two weeks with some personal stuff and starting a new job this week that I haven’t had much time to knock out the rest of the edits I’m doing, lol. Currently at 13 of 20; I’m planning to spend at least half the weekend finishing them (because I’ve been out of my house every day in the last week and I could use a break and some sleep). Then I’ll get to editing the script next week.
On the bright side, having my work commutes happening means I’ve had time to work on some more song translations! I’m almost done with a full!Light of Hope for ARC-V, and I’m going to work on Vision next. I really do dig the gradually hopeful vibe the song has in the second half, especially at the break; I think you’ll like it!

#tbt to when I made a presentation in my Japanese 202 class back in college on the Tanabata festival (which starts today in Japan), which was inspired by -OZONE-, a song used in a show about card games–how about that? I also just really loved this song back then, haha. And it was cool how it tied into the legends about it. And apparently Yusei’s birthday falls on it? Oddly fitting.

New Project Swinging In!
Hey, guys!
So, a while back, I got the idea to eventually try to get into subbing ARC-V myself; I’ve been really enjoying the show, and I’ve been wanting to bring more accuracy to the subs that are already out. I joked before that I’d start when I hit 777 followers (referencing the 777th YGO episode celebrations), but a few weeks ago…
…it happened, haha. (Thanks to everyone who’s been following me! I’ve gained 10 more since, but I appreciate everyone sticking around, even as I post about all the different stuff I’m working on, haha.)
So yeah, I’ve spent the last few months prepping, whipping up scripts for the OP and EN, getting raws together, etc (main reason I was also delaying it was because I was waiting for DVD raws to work with, given animation touch-ups and all [and hopefully they’ll fix Kite’s “Trap” error]). I’m starting from the beginning, and I’m planning to go into it the same as I do my GX subs: translating the OP/ENs, the title card, the previews, etc. And I’ve made some headway; I’ve finished the karaoke for BelieveXBelieve (and lemme tell you, that was an adventure) and have finished translating the whole OP, which you can check out here! (May just do a minor tweak or two to it now, but that’s what you can expect) I just need to work on the karaoke for One Step, and that’ll be good to go, too. Special thanks to Jake759 (who’s helped me with GX’s textless title cards) for recreating the credits’ flashing effects and helping with the script I’ll use for the title card.
Planning to likely to work on it two-GX-one-ARC-V for the time being, as GX will be a higher priority while I finalize my scripts (and I’d also like to work more on my DBZKai/5D’s project), but I’m definitely looking forward to this. And hopefully you guys are, too. :)

Background: @kaiowut99 made a tweet about Yugo’s dragon being called “Clear Wing Fast Dragon” in the manga. So then I replied with “At least it isn’t Clear Wing Speed Dragon” and it all went downhill from there.

More people should realize just how much Syrus/Sho grew throughout GX and not judge him just on how he was at the beginning of the series. At the start, he was a lazy student and barely got into Duel Academy. At the end, he was valedictorian, hard working and focused on his studies, and is a very good duelist.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned in some of the reblogs (because thank you Tumblr for changing the note format way back for no raisin), but it’s not so much that Shou was a lazy student as it was that he was lacking self-confidence. When Judai’s all cocky about being #1 despite scoring lower than he did on the Entry Exams, he outright says he’s jelly of him for that–also kind of where his reason for calling him “Big Bro” comes in–and he spends a lot of Season 1 still doubting himself, especially because things didn’t work when he was cocky–as we find out in a flashback–years before. (“I’ll do a handstand naked!”) He gets a boost from his Tag Duel against the Meikyuu Brothers, but it’s not ‘til Season 2 that he starts coming into his own a bit confidence-wise; his duel with Ran/Missy being the tipping point. Then there’s Season 3 and how he’s trying to reconcile dueling respectfully with the Dis-Duels and his development over whether or not he should choose to look after Judai after he’s the Supreme King. And then there’s Season 4 where he picks up an important duel from Hell Kaiser and outright says that they and the Cyber Style won’t give in to Jinzo-using-guy-whose-name-currently-escapes-me, he gets used to the Cyberdark Deck, and even resolves to build a new Pro League with the Kaiser.
Shou grows a lot over the course of GX. :’)

Can no one agree on the translation for the next episode’s title?
I initially saw it translated as ‘The Falcon’s Battlefield End’
then ‘The Falcon Perishes on the Battlefield’
and now I’m seeing ‘Wings Lost on the Battlefield’
Which is it guys? Pick a translation already.
I would’ve gone with the second one but thought the way I worded it for the first one worked better, given the previous Falcon titles we’ve had, lol. My final take on it would depend on the context in the episode though.
