I can’t believe it only took Yusaku two episodes to murder someone.
Well… that’s a wrap for the synchro dimension lol (I wonder how it will affect Yuto…)
reasons to not watch the 4kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX:
- the usual whitewashing and name changes of the Japanese characters.
- they cut out the gayness. (Judai Yuki, the protagonist, is gay in the original version, as are a few other characters.)
- they misgender the canon nonbinary character. (this also results in one of the gay relationships turning into a straight one.)
- they removed the original soundtrack and replaced it with their own which is not as good.
- there is no season 4.
- and because there’s no season 4, the abrupt ending of season 3 leads to the conclusion that the protagonist fucking died.
- it’s bad.
- honestly, even if you like 4kids in general, they didn’t even try with this one and after a while they just start making fun of themselves.
reasons to watch the Japanese subtitled version of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (found here):
- the gayness.
- I mean it’s really fucking gay. and not just subtext. literally, actual endgame queer relationships and actual romantic confessions.
- and it’s done so WELL too. it’s not over the top or hypersexualized or used for fanservice.
- great soundtrack.
- there is a season 4.
- JOHAN’S VOICE.
Facts everyone needs to know about Iwata:
- He saved HAL Laboratories from going down under and was a key to Kirby’s creation as a series.
- He reprogrammed the entire Mother 2 / Earthbound game in less than six months. He’s the reason it exists.
- The last game he engineered was Super Smash Bros. Melee.. out of necessity. He re-coded that as well so it would meet its November 2001 release.
- He cut his salary in half to keep Nintendo afloat rather than cut positions at the bottom.
- He gave the speech titled “Heart of a Gamer” in 2005, a key time before the Wii’s release, which shocked the world in the following generation.
- Designer first, executive second. One of the few, if not, the first and only president of a major gaming company who was a designer first and foremost.
- He was the fourth President of Nintendo and the first not by blood relation to get the honors due to his previous years of leadership.
- Iwata believed in open communication with the fans and the press. He believed in sharing his and other developers’ passion for video game design. Thus, he created a series called, “Iwata Asks.”
Overall, as president, he has helped carry Nintendo into the new millennium. He brought in the most memorable public face of gaming known as Reginald Fils-Aime, he orchestrated one of Nintendo’s finest, most shocking years in popular culture since the NES with the Wii, and shouldered the burden and took full responsibility of both the GameCube and the Wii U financially. A man with this much business savvy, personality, passion, and unselfishness… will surely, surely be missed in the gaming realm.
“Even if we come from different sides of the world, speak different languages, even if we eat too many chips or rice balls, even if we have different tastes in games, every one of us here today is identical in the most important way: each one of us has the heart of a gamer.” - Satoru Iwata, Heart of a Gamer

Goodbye, Obelisk Force. It was nice knowing you.
Wow, Cobra saw a vision of Rick that Yubel gave him to lead him walking off the edge to his death. Props to Yubel because she definitely kept her promise to Cobra by reuniting him with his son Rick, she just didn’t say how she’d reunite them.
MADDIE BLAUSTEIN IS SO IMPORTANT YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA
She was inspired to come out as transexual after working on the episode “Go West Young Meowth.” She said she saw Meowth as a human trapped in a pokemon’s body, just as she saw herself as a woman trapped in a man’s body.
I didn’t know this!!
Oh she’s done a buncha stuff. The first time I looked into them was when I saw the credits to ‘Valkyrie Profile’. I was curious if it was a mistake with how one person could do the softest and highest voice as well as the deepest manliest voice in that game. Turns out they really were just that good! Besides voice acting, they also worked on stuff in Second Life an’ helped put together transgender support groups too. Looking over their wikipedia, I feel it’s too short…I swear there was WAY more stuff they were involved with…
she also wrote the DC/Milestone comic series Deathwish, and did some stuff on Hardware and Static. :)
And she also voiced this guy

and was so damn awesome at it. One of the best voices in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX dub; the best voice in dub!Season 2.
