Well, looks like Yusei’s finally ready to make his run for it. I like how his friends would probably iike for him to pass along some impolite words for Jack from them but they refrain from saying so. They really just want Yusei to come home safely more than anything else.

Wow, that chip really did improve the bike a lot. The engine sounds much better and smoother now than when Yusei revved it the first time.
Yusei is just like “That’ll do, bike. That’ll do.” ^^;

I just had a moment of Fridge Horror…..Later on, when Yusei - a full-grown, badass adult - receives a criminal marker, he falls to the floor, screaming in agony.
Now, think about how the exact same marking procedure was done on Rally - a child. Like holy shit this ‘verse is even more dystopian than I thought.

The thought of this scene always gets to me. The fact that Rally was forced to duel Yusei in a situation where losing would mean death. And that Rally chose to purposely lose in order to protect Yusei, despite everything that Yusei did to try and prevent it.
Rally - a little boy - made a very mature choice here. Because he knew that Yusei could help people - could save everyone. He knew that he wasn’t important in the grand scheme of things, and that it was more necessary for Yusei to go on living. What kind of child actually comes to a conclusion like that?
Rally, that’s who.
