aaaaaa i fucking love this conversation so much
i just really love what they did with ed and kaiser’s relationship, how well they understand each other in some respects, yet end up with completely polarized ideals and viewpoints
idk i feel like that’s not something a lot of animes touch on, prolly cause most animes settle for just ONE ~anti-hero~, but it helps drive home that it’s not just THE PROTAG WAY OR THE HIGHWAY, there are lots of valid ways to be both a True Duelist and a hero - even if juudai influenced ed a lot, ed has his own ideals and his own path, and that’s not bad or something that needs to be ‘fixed’
(and so does kaiser, even if his path involves a lot more being a huge dick for no reason)
In which Ed and Ryou have some kind of roleplay thing going. Also, O'Brien snapping out of his random fear thing.
Here’s GX 141, all done! Finally. Work and stuff kinda crept in and pushed this back, unfortunately. I’ve got a few less hours this week, so I’ll try to get 142–maybe 143 if I can–done by/during next weekend. Enjoy!
Here we go again!
I told you I would do more. This is one I’ve been wanting to do for a while, because Valon’s expression always amused me. I was actuallyveryconflicted on who to replace Raphael with, or if I should at all. I decided to go for Hell Kaiser, because his outfit is similar enough. I just had to de-buff him a bit.
There will be more coming. I have too much fun with this. xD
this part
Just to put this in perspective.
For Shou talking to Ryou, you have this playing. A calming/touching musicbox version of Borderline/Genkai Battle.
Silence as Ryou accepts what’s about to happen and Shou calls out to him.
Then, as Camula calls out her attack, her theme kicks in. And as it still builds up, Shou cries out to Ryou, and lightning flashes outside (which you still hear in this).
Just…
This part.
(The BB musicbox version’s from NicoNico; Camula’s Theme is one of my more recent [but still needing a tweak] rips)
Speaking of rewatching DOMA (hadn’t seen it in a year or two since my first subbed watchthrough [which I’ll probably finish this time with the Ceremonial Duel]), I also rediscovered the fact that these two share a seiyuu/VA in Takeshi Maeda. Which made Valon so awesome in 165, pulling off some Hell Kaiser vibes when he got his armor on and all.
