    GX Finalized-Subs!74 Preview: The Spirit of It All

    [73′s Preview]

    (Quick little preview since it’s taken a bit long to get 73 and 74 finished up; both episodes are all done and uploaded, just have to post ‘em up tomorrow! But did want to show this scene off just because I liked how Judai makes a pure case for Rose seeing her Prince “Spirits,” and also seeing that Manjoume still has his Spirit senses [I know in 82 after his duel with Misawa is when he seems to lose that power, so I’m curious to revisit that].

    Also, the art throughout this episode is great–it’s a Kyoung Soo Lee animation team episode–but love those side shots of Judai.  Think this is around the point where their art-directed episodes start to look really good, too [the last one before this was 69 and 63 before that].)

    VS the Game Champ! The Giant Battleship Tetran Takes Off

    Ryusei Gin, a champion at shooter games, is sent as an assassin by the white Society*.  Judai and Gin go on to battle using a dueling system akin to space battleships.  Gin’s “Giant Battleship Tetran” gains three shields, making it fairly indestructible, and his “Boss Rush” Permanent Magic allows him to summon Giant Battleships like his Crystal Core and Big Core back-to-back.  Judai uses his mole-like “Gran Mole” to create a wormhole in the vacuum of space, but…

    (*The summaries I’m translating from refer to the Society of Light as 白の結社 [shiro no kessha/white society] vs 光の結社 as intended; likely its earlier name, though since Manjoume already namedropped the Society of Light back in 67, not sure why it’s still here for now, lol.)

    Destroy the Deck Destruction

    The Pro Duelist known as X is sent in as an assassin by the white Society and duels Judai.  X’s strategy focuses on deck destruction, and that unique tactic makes it difficult to defeat him when first encountered.  Falling into that tactic’s trap, Judai’s put into a pinch as many of his cards are sent to his Cemetery.  And while it briefly seemed that he would break through using his Glow Moss, X is able to avoid it.  Before long, it even causes the trust he shares with his deck’s Monsters to sway…

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Happy new year, everyone! Here’s to 2022 bringing us all the growth and life development we want to see for ourselves, and of course to more card game shenanigans in this franchise. 🎉
    To usher in the new year, I’ve got our next finalized double release here with GX 71 and 72, which aren’t quite New Year’s-themed, but they still kinda work, haha.  71 treats us to Ryusei Gin, the first of a couple of assassins Saiou will be sending to Judai to test his potential as a threat to him, and it makes for a unique episode; Ryusei being a shooter game champion (Crunchy decided to go with “shoot ‘em ups”, which also works) and incorporating that into his deck/style with the Giant Battleship/BES cards, along with the references to older Konami influential shooters like Gradius–some of which I had to brush up on as I translated a bio sheet on Ryusei!–while he and Judai duel in the Academia’s planetarium makes for an interesting setting, and I love how they worked with the BES cards’ stipulation that they lose a shield in battle by having Judai’s Heroes take one out as they go down.
    72 gives us the first use of deck destruction in GX, as Pro Duelist X backs Judai into a corner and actually seems somewhat menacing with the history Ed gives us about him never losing his first duel with someone.  Judai’s big strategy of exploiting Glow Moss’s anime-only send-two-away effect using Elixirer, then Fusion Undone/De-Fusion, then Flash Fusion (which I named so and not Instant Fusion/インスタントフュージョン as Judai names it for later consistency, as it’s called 瞬間融合 [shunkan yuugou] in its next appearance when used by Ryou in 95 [kind of a mess that the other Instant Fusion being released before this one gave it a different OCG name lol]) was interesting, and also works as a light callback to Yugi’s duel vs Strings and Osiris (since X’s own cards made Glow Moss indestructible), which is also neat given upcoming events.  The dub gets a point for naming X “Howard ‘X’ Miller,” giving the milling card game term a nod, but then I don’t get why they opted to make him Sartorius’s lawyer vs a Pro Duelist (since Saiou’s connection to him that way as a manager makes sense) and Jaden was fooled into signing a thing and not coming to duel out of some worry for Manjoume… but that’s a rambling for a different post, lol.
    Animation-fix-wise, worked on a fair amount of them; 71 mainly had card fixes, but also got some quick quality-of-watching ones, while 72 had more of the latter but also one or two card fixes.  And as I noted above, Asuka’s file on Ryusei was translated for the hardsub, but I’ll type it out when posting the softsub on NAC for the curious.  List below the cut, as usual!
    Enjoy, folks! These are now up on NAC; I’ll start prepping for the next double release covering 73 (DINO DNA) and 74 (FROG PRINCES); stay tuned!
    Chronos VS Napoleon! March of the Toy Soldiers
    Interim Principal Chronos and Vice-Principal Napoleon quarrel over the abolition of the Red dorm, and the two Instructors soon decide to duel.  Three Toy Soldiers appear from Napoleon’s Army deck, and through the Forced March and Fife and Drum Corps Magic Cards, they inflict a lot of damage to Chronos.  In that moment, a power shovel* strikes the Red dorm, starting its demolition–but as Chronos uses his Antique Gear Monsters to retaliate, his carpenters begin to rebuild it.
    (*The original Japanese summary refers to a wrecking ball here, but the entire episode it’s just Napoleon’s power shovel tearing at the Red dorm.)
    Asuka VS Manjoume White Thunder!
    Manjoume defeats the Blue students one by one, bleaching the Blue dorm white in a baffling course of action.  He goes on to say that the Society of Light, led by Saiou, will finish the academy, and Asuka duels him hoping to put a stop to that.  Manjoume’s “Hell’s White” Permanent Magic inflicts 600 damage to his opponent, in exchange for forcing him to play while displaying his hand–a strategy that throws Asuka off her game, as Manjoume wastes no time in using his Armed Dragons to corner her.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! (Or your regular Thursday if you’re not in the US.) I’ve got finalized!69 and 70 here coming in like a wrecking ball~ (Which… is actually a bit of an accurate reference, given how things change with the Society of Light plot starting here, lol.) These two episodes are fun and interesting to watch, as 69 treats us to Chronos’s first duel of Season 2 and Napoleon’s first ever, as best professor Chronos shows us more character development while standing between Napoleon and tearing down the Red dorm, and takes some… damage for it.  70 kicks the Society of Light plot we’ve been lowkey building up since 61 into gear, as Manjoume White Thunder suddenly becomes a threat and single-handedly bleaches his former Blue dorm white while everyone else was focused on the Red mess;  Asuka steps in to try and snap him out of it, her “we forge our own fates” philosophy clashing with Manjoume’s “we can’t stop fate” one, but Manjoume’s able to get Asuka overthinking her strategies (causing her to break YGO’s “don’t think about your endgame” rule) and that ultimately leads to her fated defeat as she joins Manjoume in the SoL.  She does share a good character moment with Fubuki, though, as he tells her how proud of her he is for being so determined to find him–a message that he luckily doesn’t feel a need to sing–while the moment where Judai and the others question Manjoume’s sanity is great.

    Animation-fix-wise, there were several card-related fixes I worked on, mostly in 69 as 70 was pretty good about that; both also got one or two quality-of-watching fixes.  Details below the cut, as usual, along with a quick Translation Note for one of Napoleon’s lines in 69.  I also chose to remove quite a bit of the extra Italian/French words I put into Chronos’s and Napoleon’s dialogue in my original run-through of 69, since I thought it might’ve been… a bit overkill. 😅 And since at this point I’ve been consistently handling Chronos’s “[na] no ne”s with “[now,] won’t [I/it/etc]?/no?” and Napoleon’s “de aru” through having him speak more elegantly/pompously, so it’s their general speaking styles that they take issue with about each other here.

    Enjoy, folks; these are now up on NAC~ Our next double-release’ll cover 71 and 72, as Judai faces the Academia’s resident game champ and a deck-destruction strategy–both are interesting episodes (and ones I haven’t revisited in a while).  Stay tuned!

  • GX 65 - Video Frame Editing Help?

    Looking for a little help on an animation edit I’d like to work on for my finalized episode 65 subs–I’m trying to correct an error where they showed Mad Dog Inukai’s Multiple Slime in Defense Mode despite it being in Attack Mode, entailing a few frames’ worth of editing to remove the Slime (as I’ve already masked it out to slap onto the fixed frames), so you’d just need to replicate the floor and cage bars over it.

    image

    I was in talks with someone who I hoped would be able to help, but unfortunately between their work schedule and maintaining their YouTube channel, that’s fallen through.

    Details here; if you’re good at Photoshop/etc and might be able to help with this, it would be much appreciated–I’d credit you in the episode’s end credits, but can also commission the help if need be.  Shoot me a DM if interested; would be great to make this fix happen if possible.  There wouldn’t be a huge rush, though if you’d be able to work on it within the month or sooner, that’d be great, as the wait trying to work with my contact has delayed this episode for over three months now, lol. (The wait hasn’t been too bad, since I’ve been able to get a jump on giving my finalized episodes thus far a final revision [and I’m up to the Seven Stars episodes now], but yeah)

    Thanks in advance! 🙏🏽

    Shou VS Kenzan! A Passionate Duel for Big Bro

    (Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)

    While Judai is away from home, Shou and Tyranno Kenzan argue about which of them is Judai’s “little bro,” prompting a duel between the two in which their passion towards their Big Bro is at stake.  First, Dark Tyranno–Kenzan’s boss Monster–lands a direct attack on Shou.  Then, Shou uses his Cyber Summon Blaster Permanent Trap to chip away at Kenzan’s Life in 300-point chunks.  He also completes a defensive combo with Ambulance Rescueroid and Decoyroid…

    Here’s a newly-finalized episode 64! This episode’s interesting because of the whole Shou/Kenzan dynamic getting fleshed out a bit, with the two coming to some level of understanding with each other as Kenzan maturely opts to throw the duel after realizing how dedicated and close Shou is to Judai.  We’ll get a bit more from them later, but it is nice that we close that out here.  Also, Fubuki’s being Fubuki much to Asuka’s chagrin, making us wonder how this season would pan out if he was still possessed, and we see a shirtless Judai in… Pharaoh-branded boxers that I’m surprised aren’t a real thing yet.

    Now, in terms of footage fixes… I guess after two episodes of not having much to fix, 64 had quite a few to work with; I worked on 10 edits altogether, all card-related, and I’d originally picked out five I thought would be it before I backtracked for the others I’d noticed.  The animators didn’t play all their cards right here, lol.  List below the cut, as usual.  (For the ending Today’s Best Card segment, I also added a line in the card details for Ambulance Rescueroid’s Fusion Materials that the original didn’t include just to keep consistency; this line is used for future Fusion Monster showcases, so it looks like they might’ve just forgotten it in this one.)

    Enjoy, folks! With this done, next time we’re revisiting a classic: Hell Kaiser Ryou’s debut episode~ I’ve been looking forward to this, and it should be fun to revisit.  Should have episode 65 done in 2-3 weeks, maybe sooner if ‘rona jab #2 doesn’t hit me too rough this Friday 4/30–fingers crossed!

    Kenzan VS The Curry Fiend! A Spicy Duel

    (Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)

    [In this house we appreciate Professor Kabayama]

    Instructor Kabayama, Yellow’s dorm leader, tries to bring Tyranno Kenzan and the others who have kept staying at the Red dorm back to the Yellow dorm–doing so by using curry to lure them.  Kenzan and Kabayama then duel, and Kabayama activates his Curry Pot Permanent Magic, which gradually removes his carrot, potato, and onion from the game, culminating in the summoning of Curry Fiend Roux.  Due to his Spice Cards, Roux has his ATK raised up to 4100–much like a curry that was carefully simmered and thoroughly prepared…

    Episode 63′s newly revised and finalized! Didn’t mean to take three weeks since 62, but since I was getting my first jab against the, uh, crush card virus we have out there, I tried to get the episode’s script taken care of this week just in case it went down a bit tough, lol. (So far, at least, slight arm soreness aside, I’m feeling good!) also i just got a Switch

    After the bit of plot dump we got last episode with Judai, we have a bit of a breather episode here that’s also somewhat endearing, as we have some screentime for one of the Duel Academia’s oft-neglected professors in Kabayama–who I know I’d seen somewhere before… Kenzan also gets some more duel time, premiering his new Dino Infinity, and Kabayama translating the cooking of curry into a dueling strategy was interesting.  Meanwhile, Judai’s slowly working his way back to everyone, so we’ll put a pin on him for now.

    Fix-wise, I did apply a few quality-of-life footage edits which were split-screen-related, but not too hard to work on.  Some details below the cut, as usual.

    Enjoy, everyone! I’ll be getting work started on 64 next in a day or two, and I should have it done before Injection Fairy Lily jabs me again in three weeks; it’s Shou VS Kenzan to decide who really is Judai’s lil’ bro, and it starts an interesting Shou/Kenzan dynamic~

    A New E-Hero! Neos

    (Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)

    A despondent Judai finds himself in hyperspace.  With the guidance of a strange yet friendly dolphin alien, Judai reunites with the cards he drew as a child which were launched into space by the Kaiba Corporation–but due to the power of the universe’s will, they became perfected cards.  Judai then duels a hostile space creature, and he begins to understand the concept of his new deck, which harnesses the power of Neo Space, a body of energy at the ends of the universe, to power up his Monsters.

    Here’s a finalized!62 for you! Despite the randomness of Judai finding himself in a world 600 million miles away because of a shooting star crashing into him, this is an interesting episode that helps set up some overarching plot points we’ll see for the rest of the series, between Neo Space, the whole “power of righteous darkness” thing, and the concept of dark (good) vs light (evil) which doesn’t happen often.  We also get Judai’s mental fog due to the effect Saiou’s powers had on him clear up as he rediscovers the kid inside him, and–as a Japanese blog I looked up some lines on put it–”the start of the ‘Neos overuse’ legend,” lol.  Of course, this also sets up the next few “Judai’s lost” episodes, but we’ll see soon enough that there’s a reason for them.

    Animation fix-wise, nothing to report here! (EDIT, 2021: That was a lie; one fix I came back to do under the cut!)

    Enjoy, folks; I’ll be getting started on 63 soon, as Kenzan gets some time to shine, and everyone suddenly gets hungry…

    Enter Saiou! The Tarot Deck of Destiny

    (Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)

    The mysterious man Saiou appears before Manjoume to duel him.  Saiou uses a very Tarot-style way of battle in which he sets his cards on his table, has Manjoume shuffle his deck, and foretells Manjoume’s fate according to the card he pulls–causing this to become a confrontation between Saiou’s belief in absolute fate and Manjoume’s belief in making his destiny for himself.

    A bit over a month later, here’s my finalized subs for episode 61! After Fubuki’s episode last time ended with Judai isolated in his room, Manjoume tries to shake him out of this mental toll he’s taken, but to no avail.  Then Manjoume finds himself facing Saiou as we’re more properly introduced to Ed’s manager and friend, as well as his belief that one can’t escape the destiny they’ve chosen for themselves–and before long, where he failed with Judai, Saiou succeeds with Manjoume in finding a new servant for his… Society of Light? It’s a nicely paced episode, imo; I liked how well Saiou was written here in establishing more about him and foreshadowing Manjoume’s defeat, and hey, Armed Dragon LV10 showed up!

    Animation-fix-wise, there’s… actually nothing to report on, which hasn’t happened in a while. 😅 This was just mainly delayed as I wrapped up work on my 5D’s “Dub-Uncut” mini-project 2-4 weeks ago, then I focused on polishing the script for the last week or so. (EDIT, 2022: That was a lie–one fix I came back to apply under the cut!)

    Enjoy! Should have this up on NAC in the next day or two.  With this done, I’ll be prepping for 62 as we get Judai suddenly finding himself in Neo Space for some plot; we’ll, uh, see how this goes.

    Asuka VS Fubuki! The Path to a Sibling Idolatry

    Judai was dealt a defeat by Ed, becoming unable to see his cards as anything more than blank paper.  Elsewhere, with Chronos’s plot at stake, Fubuki duels his sister Asuka.  Fubuki wants to persuade Asuka into a debut in show business through forming a sibling duo together.  Fubuki activates his Ultimate Stage Costume Field Magic, raising his Monster’s ATK to 3000, as Asuka uses her Cyber Angel series of Ritual Monsters to face him.

    And episode 60′s now finalized! After we see the effects of Saiou’s powers on Judai after his loss to Ed (in a scene that was cut from the dub, by the way), it ends up being a fun episode with more of Fubuki, who we haven’t seen since the end of the Seven Stars arc by now, in his first duel as himself while Chronos’s whole Idol Training Course thing comes back into play, trying to rope Asuka into his plan to take out the Red dorm.  I do love the part where Fubuki’s Stage Costume Field Magic backfires, haha.

    In terms of animation fixes, there were some–mainly QOL ones, along with a few card-related ones–that I worked into the episode, and for the hardsub, I translated both the banner that appears as Shou visualizes Fubuki at a concert and Manjoume’s pink robe with Asuka’s name on the back (which he apparently only wears here); list below the cut, as usual.  I also have to go back to 47 and revise the script a bit to fix the name of Asuka’s Chapel of Blessings - Ritual Church/Ritual Sanctuary Field Magic, which I named “Church of Blessings” then (redundancy!), so if you’ve downloaded that from NAC, keep an eye out for the revision. (EDIT, 2021: Came back to apply one more fix, which I’ve included in bold under the cut!)

    Enjoy, folks! With this done, I’ll start working on my last 5D’s Dub-Uncut mini-project episode in 5D’s 29, which should be interesting; I’ll sprinkle in some work on GX 61 as I do, as it’s Saiou’s duel with Manjoume which is a really interesting episode.  Stay tuned!

    A Cosplay Duel Tournament is happening at the Academy Festival. Asuka dresses up as the Harpie Lady, while Manjoume goes as XYZ-Dragon, but stepping up to duel Judai is a mysterious girl dressed up as Black Magician Girl.  Judai duels this BlaMagi Girl, and he’s cornered as she summons Magician’s Valkyria and BlaMagi Girl herself from her cutesy and surprisingly powerful deck.  The Academia supposedly lacks girls with her abilities, but…

    Finally finished! Apologies for the delay, but here’s finalized!42! A fun little episode before we get to the heart of the Seven Stars arc, and one of my favorites.  Also features the first [and only? D:] use of Elemental Hero Steam Healer, as well as Magician’s Valkyria post-Pyramid of Light; it was a neat combo by BMG to use Fire Sorcerer and lead into Dimension Fusion.

    The main delay with the episode was the translations/fixes worked on this go-around; being used to 37-41 having at most 10 fixes between them kinda spoiled me, haha.  The bulk of them are hardsub-only translations, with a few ranging from restoring a missing mouth to fixing Judai’s hair in a Quality shot.  List below the cut, as usual, but I did whip up this little video rundown if you’d like to see it that way!

    Enjoy, folks! With this done, I think I’ll run in and get 43 done next to make up for the delay, with 5D’s dub-uncut!21 happening after.  I know there’s one shot of Judai I’ll have to fix his hair in, but there probably won’t be too much there.

    The One Where They Go Down a Well

    Manjoume’s brothers try to buy Duel Academia, and as a condition of their purchase, a duel between Manjoume Thunder and Manjoume’s brother Chousaku begins.  Manjoume has a handicap imposed on him, making it so he can’t use Monsters with 500 or more ATK, and he somehow scrapes together wimpy Monsters to make a deck.  All he can do is stall with his summoned Monsters in Defense Mode, while Chousaku wages an offensive with dragons in the 2500-ATK range.  But when the Ojama Trio are all out together, it marks the beginning of Manjoume Thunder’s counterattack…

    i feel like that’s an appropriate screengrab for this episode

    Here’s episode 35! Gives us an interesting premise, forcing Manjoume–someone who’s relied on a power deck thus far–to battle with weak Monsters, as his brothers decide to cut the middle man and go right to a certain cocky rich guy to buy the Academia and rule the “card game world” (yes, that is an actual line; neat cameo tho).  Also, the Ojama Trio is finally complete, and that helps Manjoume develop some more through this episode, trying to show his Brothers that he actually has grown.

    Had a few card fixes and one typo fix to work in here, and I also recycled the translated “Go, Trio of Avid Bravery” shot of the three Manjoumes from episode 12 for the hardsub (thanks to @enbynoctis again for initially working the text in!); full list below the cut, as usual.

    Enjoy, folks! Expect it on NAC by tomorrow.  36′ll get us into the third of our Seven Star encounters, and it’ll be an… interesting one.

    The One Where Fans Pretty Much Get Their Judai VS Kaiba Duel. And The Steam Puns Waft Away From My Head

    With the last string of serious duels causing Judai to be in a funk, Winged Kuriboh guides him to set foot into the Spirit World lying beyond the Hot Springs.  There, he meets the spirit of Kaibaman, who says that his Blue-Eyes card would like to battle him.  Judai and Kaibaman begin their duel, and against his Blue-Eyes and Knight of White Dragon, Judai soon finds himself dueling seriously.  And when his Ultimate is finally summoned…

    It’s episode 34! Kind of a neat one, given that this is one of the first episodes that helps Judai reconcile the idea of dueling for keeps with his idea of dueling being all for fun.  Kind of curious to know where this development went in hindsight looking at Season 3… But that scene just before Kaibaman’s last turn with Impossible Victory playing, and then his beating Judai with his three BURRRRST STREAAAAMs, were great.

    Also, it’s Judai VS basically Kaiba, which is neat.  And the animation gets surprisingly good, too.

    This one didn’t take too long to handle since I’d already revised the script a few months back, so I just had to set up my timing video and retime the lines, but I did pick up on a few things I wanted to fix, as well as one thing I wanted to translate for the hardsub, which I’ll mention.  List below the cut, as usual~

    Enjoy, all, and happy Friday! Stay tuned for the NAC post, which’ll also have 33 since lol, I totally forgot to post it before working on 34.  I’ll be working on 35 soon; we seem to be hitting the part of GX where they’re really good about not goofing with cards, so we’ll see if that helps trim down any delays.  Looking at about a 1-2-week window to finish it, hopefully.

    The One Where Things Get Heated (Part 2) [OP/EN 1 Version]

    Judai faces a hurdle at 700LP against 3000.  As he takes damage, Shou and Hayato inch closer to being scorched as they take the resulting mental toll.  Darkness finally summons Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, while Judai cleverly uses Wildman and the Wild Half Magic Card to reduce the Red-Eyes’s power, but…

    And here’s Part 2, which I tried to get done quickly after finishing 29 last week for a double-release! Judai gets back into this with the looming threat of Shou and Hayato meeting hot lava, only to have Darkness bring out his real ace in Red-Eyes Darkness.  This was a really good intro episode for it, and overall, the duel played out pretty entertainingly through the episode.  Judai brings out a new Fusion Hero that’s pretty badass, and it leads us to a big reveal at the end that’s been episodes in the making.  Which makes for a touching little scene that the dub happens to ruin.

    I heard you were also interested in fixes? Well, some of you, I’m sure, haha.  Luckily, I covered a few fixes when I prepped the preview for 29, so I just added seven more to the list, a few of which were easy-peasy to implement. List below the cut, as usual! (EDIT, 2021: One new fix applied, listed in bold under the cut below!)

    Also, quick Translation Note: when Judai attacks with Wild Jaggyman, he declares his attack on the two REDDs, but we see WJ also attack Spear Dragon; this is because of his effect making him attack all opposing Monsters once each.  But he only needed to attack the two REDDs to win, making Spear Dragon more just for show.  That said, kudos to the dub for addressing this by having Jaden say he’ll attack all three.

    Enjoy; hopefully I’ll get to start 31 soon, as the Camula episodes are some of my favorites in GX.  It’ll be nice to revisit them.

    The One Where Things Get Heated (Part 1) [OP/EN 1 Version]

    To protect three cards hidden within the Academia from the hands of seven assassins known as the “Seven Stars,” Judai and co are given seven keys by the Principal.  The first of the assassins, “Darkness,” shows himself to Judai, and the two duel in a Duel of Darkness in which the loser’s soul is sealed within a card, and Shou and Hayato are also taken as hostages.  Darkness summons Red-Eyes Black Dragon and overwhelms Judai…

    So I didn’t expect to end up so delayed on this one… But here we are! We kick off the Seven Stars arc with exposition on our new Phantasm Cards and Judai starting his duel against the first of the Seven, as GX starts to take a less lighthearted route compared to our road thus far.  I personally enjoy the arc; there are some good duels and character moments here (Judai especially, as it’s his first taste of duels being played with stakes).

    As we’re starting the arc here, I thought I’d do something unique with my finalized releases for the next few episodes.  See, 99% and Wake Up Your Heart, the next OP/EN duo, officially start in episode 34, which is the Kaibaman episode.  Given the imagery in 99% and how the general tone shifts starting in this episode (and also, 4Kids officially gave the show a subtitle in dub!29), I always had the feeling that, like with Burn! in ARC-V, it was meant to start earlier but didn’t.  So, I wanted to start 99% and WUYH a bit earlier with this episode for my hardsubs; I’ll still be releasing the scripts with the DVDRips as originally presented.  Though, since I’m aware that not everyone will be up for this tweak, I’ll also be releasing a hardsub with OP/EN 1 still in and plugging them both into my GX Masterpost.  You’ll find said releases on NAC.

    And I’d be remiss if I didn’t have some fixes done for this episode, which were partly what led to the unintended delay, lol.  Though, luckily, it wasn’t that many to work with.  List below the cut, as usual!

    Enjoy!
