Oh hunh, he actually used a card related to Alchemy. That’s something that hasn’t particularly come up since season 1. ^^;;
Ouch, that sucks that the cost is that it removes his monster though….
GAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! O____O
SO YUBEL WAS ACTUALLY A DRAGON ALL THIS TIME??
I MEAN I SUPPOSE I SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING REALLY SINCE THEY DO HAVE DRAGONY WINGS IN HUMANOID FORM ^^;;;
Also kudos to Yubel’s voice actress for the pronunciation on that German phrase.
In regards to Yubel’s new form I have 3 points to make:
1. As mentioned by the translators, Das Abscheulich Ritter is German for “the detestable knight”
2. My favorite detail, Das Abscheulich Ritter is actually gramatically wrong. German is one of the languages that practices gendering their nouns (they have 3 distinctions, Masculine, Feminine and Neutral)
Since “Ritter” (Knight) is masculine, it should be “Der Abscheuliche Ritter”.
Das is meant to be gender neutral….
hmmm something tells me that this was delibrate
3. It’s kinda sad that German Yugioh decided to follow the name of the english card Yubel - Terrorinkarnation (Yubel - Terror Incarnate)
Oh that’s interesting about them using the gender neutral word! Heh, I’d say that was definitely a deliberate choice too.
That’s too bad the German translation didn’t get to use it, but I guess it would make sense if all Western versions have to use the English translation as their base instead of the Japanese one.

OH GOD THEY SAID THE PHRASE! 😱😱😱
LOL! This is the absolute best reaction to have to a declaration that creepy and stalkerish. XD
Oh, hunh, wow, that’s… really not what I would have expected. ^^;; I’ve been wondering all this time what exactly he would want to be a king here for and I assumed it would probably not be all that great since Amon is not really a people person at all. But for him to have a goal like this, to want to use his power to build a society where people will never be abandoned the way he was, to never have to suffer from hunger or poverty, makes a lot of sense. And that’s why he doesn’t have the darkness that Yubel was expecting from him, because his goal is more selfless than selfish.
Not to say he doesn’t have any darkness at all in there though. I mean, he still did murder his girlfriend in the name of this goal and all. But i think Amon recognizes those dark parts in himself and why they’re there and doesn’t want other people to have to suffer like that as well. Although it’s interesting that he decides to accomplish this in a completely new world instead of trying to make a change in his own. Maybe he figures that society in his own dimension is so far gone that it would be easier to build a utopia somewhere else from scratch, I dunno.
Also isn’t that the Chrysler Building in New York there? So that would mean Amon is from the U.S. then. Way back in the beginning of the season when it was said he was from Duel Academia East I thought that would have meant somewhere in Asia or something. But thinking about it now from the perspective of Japan, America is to the East so that would work out. ^^;;
Ummm, the top of what exactly? Are you going to make him climb a tower in order to face you dramatically?
It looks like Ryou at least managed to drain some of Yubel’s power though. They really do look rather exhausted after that.
Errr, you did? Certainly seemed like you were still obsessed with it to me. ^^;;;
But I guess he’s saying that it doesn’t truly matter whether he actually wins or loses this duel anymore. What he wants is to make it something to remember him by, to make it a special shining moment where he gives it his all. Of course he’s still going to try and win since he’s a duelist, but how he duels is more important than the end result of it.
*remembers yubel has no gender in japan*
me, a non binary: Nice
ON THE TOPIC OF SOUL FUSION
I had a kind of, angsty thought about Judai-Yubel and their fusion.
After the fusion, Judai doesn’t really notice any differences aside from a few powers courtesy of Yubel. So he doesn’t think much of it.
Then someone comments that he’s barely changed since the last time they met. Which wouldn’t be all that remarkable except they haven’t really seen each other since school, and they’re not in their early 20′s anymore.
‘I guess I just age well’ he thinks. Because, some people do, some people just look younger than they are.
But that can only last so long.
40 years old. 50 years old. A grey hair hair, laugh lines, wrinkles, slower reaction times, bad joints and limbs, everyone around him is changing, growing older, and showing it. But Judai, Judai still looks young, still looks and feels(physically) like a ~20 year old.
Perhaps extra abilities wasn’t the only thing he got from Yubel…
can yubel see out of the eyes on their legs
Whatever helps you sleep at night yubel.
It’s nice to know my childhood was as gay as it deserved
