It taught me that Pot of Greed allows me to draw two cards to refresh my hand
sorry XD
But no, in all seriousness, I think it has a lot of great lessons to share.
Yugi and his friends taught me that no matter how small I thought I was, I had the potential to be something greater. That I had the strength to stand up for myself and others even when I thought that I wasn’t good enough. They taught me about inner strength and confidence.
GX taught me that it was okay to be sad and it was okay to make mistakes but you always have to get back up and try again. It legitimized my sadness but told me that things could and would be better again.
5D’s taught me that nothing is set in stone and that destiny is something you choose for yourself. The future is limitless as long as you reach for it.
Zexal told me that no matter how horrible the world is, it is okay and it is good to be kind. Even if you get hurt, keep being kind. Even if people hate and belittle you for your kindess, keep trying, keep forgiving, keep caring, there is nothing wrong with you, there is something wrong, instead, with the world that tells you that it’s not kay to care.
And thus far, Arc V has already taught me so much That it’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes. That smiling is great, but you should cry when you need to. That not everyone will listen to you but that doesn’t mean you should stop trying to fight for what’s right. It has taught me to keep stepping forward. If you fall down stand back up. You are not a failure, you are not a lost cause. You will fall a million times you will have your beliefs shaken and your morals questioned and over and over again you will be sad and you will feel like there’s nowhere to go from here, but you can and you will get back up again, and you will be the stronger for it.
And all of the series, every single one of them, have taught me that your friends, your family, and the people you choose to bind yourself to, are so important, and they will carry you in some way if you let them. Even if someone leaves, the bond you had with them doesn’t ahve to disappear, and the mark they left behind can carry through to you even over time. Yu-Gi-Oh is a story, most of all, about friends fighting together, and that’s what has and should resonate most of all.
There’s also a great article from Animedia on the legacy of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. Also the 777th episode of the franchise airs later today with a special OP featuring past protagonists. Can’t wait!
What if you were friends with some weird alien and it didn’t wear any type of clothes and you just figured it didn’t come from a culture that wore clothes but then you finally visited its planet and they’re all totally dressed how would you feel
