Top Ten Anime Scenes - No. 2
Code Geass - “The Zero Requiem”
The ending to Code Geass was perfect. It’s just, wow. I cried, many buckets because of this scene. The ultimate completion of Lelouch’s plan, the passing of the Zero alias to Suzaku, the Zero chant, the music, Nunally realizing that everything Lelouch did was was for her, it’s just perfect. Too often anime have had cliffhangers, depressing endings, and endings that just don’t resolve anything, but Code Geass resolved every plot point, gave resolution to every character and actually “ended”. Lelouch’s final words still give me shivers:
“I destroyed the world, and created anew…”
