Yeah, like, the text doesn’t bug me too much, but if it’s at all possible to get rid of it, it’d be cool to do lol. I can definitely shoulder some of the burden too, since I know how to use content-aware a bit for fill cover-ups (though the way I’m using it, I’d need to redraw, unless there’s an easier way I don’t know yet haha). The problem would be the waves/sky, but some video masking might handle it once everything’s worked on; I can just extract the frames in Virtualdub and we’ll have them to work with! If anyone else ends up wanting to volunteer, we can definitely split the frames among us.

When you say “overlay the words”, do you mean placing them directly over the kanji but semi-transparent, or…? I’m kinda sleepy rn and thinking is hard. ;_; But I can try that and replacing the text and see what looks better! (I don’t have Photoshop installed right this second because of computer issues, but if you upload everything for me I should be able to tackle it tomorrow!)I was thinking, more like place them on the kanji but with a border colored like the scroll or something, like this:
I just tried that in Aegisub, and while it might be easy enough to put it there and zoom it out, there are the other pan shots and stuff too, so being able to do it in the stills would be best. But that’s the idea there, and I think that might actually work better (the font name is Edo), but yeah, if you want to try out both, we can see how they look. Here’s all the shots of it; they’re mostly blanked already, but I left the originals in for this other idea, and also because a few were hard for me to blank. Thanks again!

I was originally going to put the “fighting spirit” words on the blanked scroll in all the shots with it (which I have ready and mostly blanked, thanks to 4Kids blanking them), but I’m not sure how it’d look vertically (and I have this font Edo se-to-oh used before that has this fitting look to it). We could try that, or the simpler “overlay the words on the kanji” approach I thought about, whichever works for you.

Pssst! Hope I'm not bothering you, but do you know what's going on in terms of retiming your updated subs to super high quality DVD rips of GX? I've only got the first 9 episodes I think downloaded and NAC suddenly stopped with that. :o
You’re not bothering me at all! Though that’s actually more GoldenUmi there who’d been working on that; I haven’t started updating my Season 1 subs yet lol (I’m still working on that Borderline Battle thing!). Umi has been really busy though, between life, work on ARC-V, and a bunch of stuff he’s doing, so that may be why it’s been on hold for a bit.

Is this track one of many tracks that weren’t released in either of the GX sound duels?Unfortunately, yep >_> For some reason, there was a huge delay in between Sound Duel 1 and Sound Duel 2, such that by the time 2 came out, GX was close to ending and it only got mainly Season 3 and 4 themes, while at least the 20+ that were introduced around the Seven Stars arc and about 10-14 or so intro’d during Season 3 didn’t get released. That includes stuff like “Camula’s Theme”, Impossible Victory, An Ominous Air/“Saiou’s Theme”, and even Johan’s two themes! Along with that one “turnaround” theme, which got put into Tag Force 1 with IV and have been released in some form, even if shortened.
For years now, in between GX subbing, I’ve been trying to rip all of these. You can find them still sitting on my Soundcloud, but I’ve been revamping all of them now that I have the DVD audio to work with, and trying to rip them by splicing the track together from their uses throughout GX. I’m posting them under #Sound Duel 1.5 if you want to keep tabs on that project!

I do not understand Shou’s reason for going back to Ra Yellow. Like what was the point?
Funny, I made a reply post on this exact thing a while back haha. And to add onto it, it also sorta introduces to Judai the idea of “dueling for a reason”; Judai just duels for the fun of it, while Shou’s trying to duel to protect the “Kaiser” title that Ryou’s maintained for so long while still being respectful of his opponents.

I am so confused. Judai sent Neos to the cemetery to activate Aqua Dolphin’s effect and only destroyed Ruby Carbuncle. But before, Judai would have one other monster out on the field alongside Aqua Dolphin and activate its effect that way.
I figured it out! The OCG/anime effect does need a discard, but you have to control any monster that has more ATK than what gets destroyed, not one other than Aqua Dolphin. So, since he controls Dolphin (600 ATK), he’s able to get rid of Ruby (300 ATK). I was going to say they convoluted it for the situation, but it makes sense haha.
Except Aqua Dolphin was the only monster on his field in this play. xD
Well yeah, but his effect lets Judai choose any monster on his field for it, including Aqua Dolphin! So he targeted Dolphin to base the ATK thing on, searched Johan’s hand, and destroyed Ruby. :P

As far as I know, North Campus is near Scandinavia and South Campus is most likely near Australia. But where are East and West Campus located? I want to say one of them is in America but which one?
It’s hard to say. There are many African-descendant population in all Americas, and judging by his military training maybe he was raised in some of those extremely stereotyped view of the Amazon rainforest which spreads through nine different countries. Or maybe it was meant to be the African continent (it is west to Japan after all and some people say that the one in Japan is the central)

I want to say that O’Brien is from the African continent and Amon is American. I feel like that makes sense, but who’s to say?
Actually, it does! There’s a scene later on where, in a flashback, we see Amon homeless in New York City (it fades from Amon standing in an alley or something to a shot with the Chrysler Building in Midtown):

YESSSS!!!!!!! Aw, I’m so excited. What are you going to do once you finish subbing the series, though?You and me both, I’ve been wanting to knock these out since I’m behind schedule lol (I wanted to finish when Arc-V started!).
An excellent question haha. Definitely have to start getting some life stuff in order first, been wanting to look for a better job for a while now, hang out with some friends, etc. Also, I’ll start catching up on my 5D’s comparisons/try to get a few GX ones in (I’ll have to figure out where to host them though, since my site’s 404'ing as they apparently update the servers; might do it here for the time being if it’s not back online soon), do an overhaul on my GX BGM rips so I can finally release some of them, and somewhere in there start finalizing Seasons 1 and 2. Which, thanks to Jake from NAC (you’ve seen him credited for the textless title cards), may not be too tough since he’s retimed all of my scripts for the DVD rips! So I’d just have to look over lines and do some minor timing adjustments haha.
(Also, I may try to do something about post-TnKP 5D’s since the subs are hella wacky beyond that :P)
I also have to finally try to catch up on a bunch of TV shows/movies with the free time, ZeXal included; but it’ll definitely be nice to have my GX-subbing not take up so much time lol.
