Things I am still upset about

• The 5Ds writers throwing Jack and Carly’s character development out the window for shits and giggles

I’m trying to figure out whether this or Aki’s character derailment is worse.  Ultimately I think what they did with Jack and Carly makes me angrier, but it’s a pretty close call.

I maybe still pissed about how Jack and Carly’s relationship was handled but the bullshit they did with Aki is way worse for me. Romance is nothing compared to the inacurate potrayal of a person with mental illness. The writers dismissed everything she did and her mental problems by getting Divine out of her life and reuniting her with her family. News flash writers that doesn’t make everything better.

Aki and her family have gone through alot because they didn’t understand her powers and how they were effecting her and her social life. Since she was a child she has been abused, negelcted, and ostracized from society because she had psychic powers. Aki and her family took the first steps in repairing their relationship but they need alot more than what was given. Those people really needed fucking family therapy and better education about psychic abilities in children.

Aki herself is very unstable mentally and emotionally since childhood. She yearns for attention and when someone gives her a slither of validation as Divine and Yusei did, she latches onto that person with a false pretence of that person. Aki sees Yusei the way she saw Divine, as her saivor. And then there is her returning to school after the damage she’s done there in the past maybe injuring students and falcuty when she used her psychic abilities. How did she get back into school? Why the fuck did they let her back in? Did her parents have any involvment in this? Aki never got a subplot with her intergating back into society and maybe having some trouble adjusting to school life and maybe having her peers be afraid and wary of her since she did kind of destoryed the school once and is widely know as the Black Rose Witch now due to her alter-ego being exposed in the Fortune Cup.

What I wanted for Aki was some focus on her recovery and maybe something with her and Misty. I’m sure Aki feels resposible for Toby’s death as she is the one who sent him to Divine. And there is the trouble she frequently caused is the Diamond Area. She has had to have injured or killed someone there but nope everything is miraculously hand waved to have it she isn’t guilty of any wrong doing. That there really, really really pissed me off.
