Hey everyone!! Admin Slifer Slacker and myself have had some ideas for a Zine between the two of us full of YGO GX Sketches, illustrations and other goodies and we’d love to hear your input on it!!

    So far our idea includes:

    • a zine full of new sketches, comic pages and illustrations and some old ones from the blog so if there’s any you REALLY love on the blog please link us back to them and we can see about including them.
    • An enamel pin (Design TBC)
    • A double sided acrylic Charm (Design TBC) with one artist on each side.
    • A selection of 2-4 postcard sized prints.
    • And a thank you card signed by the two of us for your support and for being part of the YGO GX community here!!

    How can you help?

We’d LOVE to hear feedback from you on any aspect of the project. E.g. how much you’d be willing to pay for the bundle, any characters/ships you’d like to see included, anything at all. The project can only go ahead with your support so if you’re excited and want one then let us know!!

Also for those who maybe can’t afford the whole thing, I’m sure we can arrange a cheaper PDF version of the zine and postcards at least.

Thank you for supporting our Pot of Greed shenanigans!! This is our chance to give something back to all of you supporting us and we can’t wait to see what happens!!

this is fantastic now children in Puerto Rico wont be able to receive the education they deserve thanks to their messed up government

Its even worse than that. I’m living through it. Not only are schools closing, hospitals are collapsing. Only around 9% of the island has electricity and it comes and goes at times.

People are dying in hospitals because of lack of diesel for the generators, a lot of the water is now infected, there are disease outbreaks and scareceness of food. I am safe, but many are not.

Some have water, others don’t. We need help. Sending money would be helpful but what would help even more would be sending water filters, filtering water bottles, food, medicine, if somehow possible diesel.

All of you reblogging this news helps, but what we need is physical help. If you can’t, then spread the word, but God if you can send supplies… Please… PLEASE do. We are dying. Help us, help us save ourselves. Help us save our people. Help us save out ISLAND.

If you’re not in a position to ship or transport useful items to the island (which is sure as heck the case for me in New Zealand) then the best thing you can do is give money to a reputable relief organisation operating in the area.

  • you wouldn't happen to know if there's a decent sub file for DSOD floating around, would you? I rented the US release and either VLC is fucking with me, or they thought nobody'd notice if they just slapped the subs for the English dub over the Japanese audio track. good job guys
    paradoxi-kay

Actually I do! Especially considering that, oh, I helped make it. :P (And no, that’s not just VLC’s fuckup, that honor goes to Anchor Bay who somehow slapped it on and thought it’d be indistinguishable from the Japanese track.  It was a whole thing, lol.)

Check out NAC, there’s a sub file for it there.  I subbed the movie up until Kaiba VS Aigami, while GoldenUmi and NeoArkadia and some others from GX_ST were involved with the rest (with Horoko of TnKP’s own subs referenced to in some spots).  Should make a noticeable difference!

  • Do not support the Red Cross

    lindentreeisle:

    cas-hyung:

As someone who’s been in the middle of Harvey, Ike, Gustav, Katrina, Rita and probably any hurricane that’s hit Louisiana in my life, I urge you to not support the Red Cross. Every time they’ve come to “help” they’ve made it worse on the locals and the people they’re trying to give aid to.

For this I’ll use the most recent and most appalling, Harvey. As you probably know Houston was devastated by this storm. Where I live opened up our two biggest centers for the people that the Cajun Navy and other rescuers brought in. Of course the Red Cross took over these centers and within a few days everything crumbled.

People were I live are incredibly generous and helpful during events like this because we’ve all been through it many times. Every time there’s been a disaster in Louisiana is when you’ll see the community helping each other with anything they might need.

So during Harvey, people here were treading flood waters and gathering all of the clothes, food, and hygiene products they could find. They took all of this to the centers and they started being turned away. They didn’t want to accept clothes donations unless they were brand new, which is appalling. These people left their homes only wearing the clothes on their backs which were covered in flood water, which contains many harmful bacteria. They weren’t going to care if there’s a mustard stain on a shirt, not as long as it was clean and dry. There were people who had been there for days and didn’t have shoes.

The most atrocious of it all is that they wouldn’t accept food people made. People here love to cook, we’re raised doing it. Being cooped up in a house for days on end with no work and the kids missing school meant many gumbo pots were being used. These people decided to donate it to the Red Cross, and it was thrown away. Even though they didn’t have enough food to feed the people there. Popeyes, a very popular franchise, had their employees go to work early and prepare food for the people at the shelter. The Red Cross threw it all away. Other restaurants donated hot food, and it was all put in the dumpster.

Through all of this they just wanted people to donate money. They had the news broadcasting about “families don’t want to be seen digging through clothes on a table to find new ones.” BULLSHIT, we’ve been through this before and clothes are clothes. Giving these people a voucher to Walmart isn’t going to help them when the closest Walmart is 15 minutes away and they don’t have a vehicle or a way to get there.

I’ve heard from so many places that the Red Cross shouldn’t be trusted, but now that they’ve pulled this shit in my hometown I know better. The local sheriff’s department got the go to chase off the Red Cross, and people from all over the city brought in hot fresh food for the people there. They got them all clothes and shoes and went and bought things for these people to make sure they were at least comfortable. The state then took over and transported the willing ones and all of the pets to Shreveport to a mega shelter where they’ll have more long term care as these other two storms come to be.

If you want to help with the effects of this storm, please find better places to donate! The Red Cross is the most popular and they’re not putting that money to good use. I don’t have links of places so if any of you do please add them here for people to see. It makes me sick to see this happening and I want to do what I can to inform people.

The Red Cross also has an absolutely awful track record of continually wasting and “losing” the money and supplies donated to them.  But there are plenty of places that will gratefully take and use your donations appropriately.  Try local (to Texas) food banks, humane societies, and other purpose-made charities.  Here’s a list of some good charities from Charity Navigator.  Team Rubicon is also conducting operations in Texas- this is a pretty cool organization that forms and deploys rapid disaster response teams of military veterans and emergency first responders.  They do a bit of everything, from evacuation and rescue, to damage assessment, to debris clearing and other recovery and repair efforts.  The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund passes monetary donations directly to disaster victims, and the company that started the charity will provide some matching funds.

Also remember that donating isn’t necessarily an emergency- people need help now dealing with the immediate aftermath, but they’re also going to need help rebuilding their homes and lives, and unfortunately the rebuilding is going to take a lot of money and time.  Be on the lookout for organizations conducting more long-term rebuilding projects and not just immediate disaster relief.

Guys, the first images of Irma’s level of devastation are coming out of Barbuda and it’s heartbreaking. The President of Barbuda says that 90% of the island is uninhabitable, upwards of 60% of the TOTAL population are now homeless because the hurricane destroyed virtually every building and home on the island, and that the estimated damage is valued at no less than $200 million dollars. That’s money a small island like that doesn’t have. They’re saying it’s going to take years to rebuild and Hurricane Jose is right behind Irma on the same path which means they could be hit twice. This is just one of the islands being affected.

Please, show up for the Caribbean like you did for Houston. There is no safety net for any of these islands including mine. They’ll rely entirely on foreign aid. Find local charities or global trustworthy charities (NOT the Red Cross) and make a donation asking them to aid the Caribbean. There’s whole countries being turned into rubble with no financial means to repair their infrastructures. They’re going to need help.

For the hundreds of people replying or in my inbox asking “Why not the Red Cross?!”:

    1. Google is free.
    2. Why The Red Cross Faces Backlash on Harvey Relief Efforts [Washington Post]
    3. Red Cross Built Exactly 6 Homes For Haiti With Nearly Half A Billion Dollars In Donations [Huffington Post]
    4. Red Cross Exec Doesn’t Know What Portion Of Donations Go To Harvey Relief [NPR]
    5. Report: Red Cross Spent 25 Percent Of Haiti Donations On Internal Expenses [NPR]
    6. Seriously, guess where I found all of those in two solid minutes of searching? Google. Even better, they didn’t charge me a penny for it.

Stop wanting things to be spoonfed to you. While you waited for someone to link you to sources, you could’ve done it yourself and already donated to people who desperately need it.

Because people are also asking where to donate instead of the Red Cross:

    1. MercyCorps [89% rating on Charity Navigator]
    2. Heart To Heart International [97% rating on Charity Navigator]
    3. Direct Relief [100% rating on Charity Navigator]
    4. Habitat For Humanity [83% rating on Charity Navigator // Because with islands like Barbuda 90% destroyed and French St. Martin said to be 95% destroyed then people are going to need homes built]
    5. Catholic Relief Services [90% rating on Charity Navigator // For those who would want to donate to a religious organization]

If there is a note or comments section on their donation page please do let them know that you would want your money to go to their Caribbean relief efforts. Houston and Florida have the US government backing them in whatever they will need but these islands will have very little except for these charities to fall back if they have any hope of rebuilding what seems to be entire countries in some cases. For the people who lost everything even a few bucks will go a long way.

For the most part I would suggest staying away from privately launched GoFundMes unless you know the person directly. Ultimately, you just never know where those funds are going to end up and if your money will be used wisely. Sure, the same can be said for charity organizations but at least there is a better shot at possibly helping through them. The five listed above are world known and have been studied by charity oversight organizations. It’s as close to perfect as we’re going to get.

Uh.. so this new notif that indicates when you, or other users have been active is.. kinda creepy. It posts how long ago you were on line with a time stamp.

I remember there was a post discussing this but just thought I’d make a small info post.

There is a green dot that appears next to your URL or those who you follow who have been active recently if you are to look at your activity/message logs. (I think this may just be on mobile but..)

To turn it off go to your personal settings –> privacy. Then there will be a tab that says “let people know when you’ve been active.

  • Hey y'all buckle up this is important

    squibll:

So various providers such as Verison, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and and AT&T are trying to end net neutrality, which gives people freedom to go on websites like tumblr and DeviantArt and the like without it being slowed or having to pay for it.
    This is very important.
There is a very informative article on battleforthenet.com about this and can explain it better than i can, but in short
Multiple websites tomorrow will show warnings on them, but don’t worry, these aren’t real warnings and actually tell you what is going on. They also give you the opportunity to send a letter to the fcc about this. That step is really important, and i reccomend you at least try to do so.

You can go to battleforthenet.com and read this article (it also provides the previously mentioned opportunity to send a “letter” to the fcc about this and attempt to stop net neutrality to be taken away) we only have a few days to try to stop this, and stopping it is NEEDED. If net neutrality gets taken away, literally everyone is fucked.

    So uh,, yeah
