I’ll most likely follow anyone reblogging this post, so reblog away!
Tumblr’s Staff has posted about a third party obtaining access to select tumblr accounts. While they say there has been no evidence to prove this third party is trying to access these accounts, there have been multiple people who have been affected and hacked. Mitzu ( @mitzusins) was one of those hacked. Oolay ( @oolay-tiger) has also been affected, but not hacked.
Please listen to me folks. If you have been signed out of your account without your own doing so, D O N O T click any links to reset a paaword on an email. You can do this on your own Tumblr, and clicking on any links can make your personal information available to this hacker.
If you have clicked on a link and reset your password, I’m telling you right now: CHANGE YOUR TUMBLR AND EMAIL PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY UPON READING THIS. You can possibly save yourself from being hacked and blocked from your email account by doing this.
Please reblog and spread this as fast as you can. Many peoples’ accounts and personal information are at stake and this is a horrific event that is happening. If you know anyone who is being affected ESPECIALLY forward them this post. Thank you all for sharing, and please be safe.
This is 100% true. I got logged out today, something that has never happened to me before. And I got sent a password changing link from ‘Gmail’…even though I wanted to change my TUMBLR password and my email is MSN. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD THROUGH A EMAIL LINK. YOU CAN CHANGE IT ON TUMBLR YOURSELF.
We recently learned that a third party had obtained access to a set of Tumblr user email addresses with salted and hashed passwords from early 2013, prior to the acquisition of Tumblr by Yahoo. As soon as we became aware of this, our security team thoroughly investigated the matter. Our analysis gives us no reason to believe that this information was used to access Tumblr accounts. As a precaution, however, we will be requiring affected Tumblr users to set a new password.
For additional information on keeping your accounts secure, please visit our Account Security page.
Yeah, @staff. It’d be nice if you didn’t forcibly log people out and then lock them out until they reset their password. I mean, some people have acute email issues or other problems that make what you did frustrating to get through. If they get through it at all. Also, would it be so hard to put a pinned post on top of everyone’s dash to announce this? It’s so easy to put a “Ask random celebrity blog!” note up there but when there’s a possible security problem suddenly it’s not something you think of?
Yeah, I was kind of worried at first that tumblr itself had been hacked and it was a scam. SO.
Word of warning, nice.
Some folk no longer have access to the email account they originally created the blogs under, so that’s an issue too.
Yep, I had this happen and briefly was like whelp I might’ve been scammed gg.
I can’t get over that grin. Bubbie has poor motor control and smiles very rarely as a result. Outright grins? Pretty much never.
You guys did this. With your reblogs, your love, your enthusiasm, your cards, and your friendship. Bubbie’s month can only get MORE awesome, but already we are here: that grin.
I hope all of you know how momentous this is for my family. To Bubbie–and to me–right now each of you is Yuugi, Jyonouchi, Honda, Anzu, Bakura, Atem. Each of you is a friend and hero.
Thank you all so very much. I’ll continue to post pictures as cards come in!
So you might or might not know me, but I’ve been in fandom for close to ten years (holy shit), and I have a small request to make. Well–small for you, huge for my family.
See this boy?
This is my nephew Bubbie.
When Bubbie was eight years old, he had routine heart surgery for a genetic defect. But someone didn’t pay enough attention and set an IV with an air bubble in the line, and “routine surgery” turned into a several-week-long nightmare. First the doctors told us he would never wake up. Then they told us he wouldn’t recognize anyone. Then they told us he’d never feed himself. Then they told us … you get the idea.
Ten years later, Bubbie will never be the same. But he’s awake. He knows who his family is. He can feed himself and hold basic conversations. He’s been in the Special Olympics, and this week he’s basically saying “yeah, and screw you too” to all the doctors who told us this would be impossible: he’s graduating high school.
And he loves Yu-Gi-Oh.
So here comes the part where I ask you guys for something. Bubbie doesn’t have the mental ability to actually follow the game, but he loves getting mail, and he loves sorting and playing with his cards. After all these years, they’re starting to get worn out–not only are they a favorite toy, they’re also a coping tool when he goes into sensory overload.
So if you guys want to make a boy very, very happy, and do something totally badass for his high school graduation, would you consider sending him a graduation card with some YGO cards in it? I don’t want to put his mailing address just floating out and about on Tumblr, but you can get it from me by shooting me an Ask. Bubbie adores mail more than just about anything in the world, and he’d be absolutely over the moon.
His graduation party is on May 21st (he walks on the 17th), and we’d like to fill up the weeks preceding with mail from all over (YGO-related and regular mail both). Can you help out by sending him a card and/or REBLOGGING this post?
Thanks for reading, guys! Please help me make my nephew’s graduation awesome.
Yo! Yesterday I came across this little extension, and given how bad spam has been in the ARC-V tag lately, I figured I should spread the word.
(I will note however when I installed it didn’t seem to work at first, however the next day it did. It’s possible you might need to restart your browser or your computer for it to start working.)
SPREAD THIS LIKE WILDFIRE AND ACT NOW, OR YOUR FAVORITE YOUTUBERS WON’T BE ABLE TO FREELY DO WHAT THEY LOVE ANYMORE! OR ANYONE ON YOUTUBE FOR THAT MATTER!
a new law is about to be passed in Saudi Arabia that will allow the government to execute people for coming out or being openly gay online.
ignoring the fact that this is literally something out of some kind of dystopian novel, in the interests of safety i’ve emptied out my face tag and may temporarily deactivate or password protect this blog.
please reblog this and get the word out, and if you pray, please pray for me and my fellow Saudi LGBTQ+/MOGAI family.
NYC followers: the Board of Elections sent out “correction” postcards to new voters (AKA Bernie voters) saying the primary is in September. It’s still April 19. You should still vote. In fact, bring two friends who weren’t going to vote as a “fuck you” to the people who were trying to trick young people out of voting in the first place.
This election is getting dirtier and more disgusting every time I turn around and the primaries aren’t even over yet.
so the democratic party caucuses for Hawaii, Alaska and Washington state are ALL on Saturday, rather than Tuesdays like primaries. a LOT of younger voters get trapped in part-or-full-time jobs on the weekends and miss out on the voting (this is what happened in Nevada, where all the younger Bernie supporters were stuck working casino jobs on the weekend), so let me just remind everyone that your employer is legally obligated to give you enough time off to vote.If you want to vote in the caucuses, be it for Hillary or Bernie (I prefer Bernie but I won’t tell anyone who they should vote for, it’s your decision), you have a LEGAL RIGHT to do so. If your employer tries to tell you no, or give you hell for it, you can contact authorities on the matter, or if your employer has an anonymous report system (which most are required to), file a report with a district or regional manager (if you work for a larger corporation or company) that your manager is not allowing employees time off to vote. It’s a violation of federal law and I promise something WILL be done.
Shuttered polling places, endless lines, and widespread disenfranchisement—particularly for minority communities
Something was amiss in Arizona on Tuesday. As Hillary Clinton claimed victory in the state’s Democratic primary, thousands of voters were left out to dry, with shuttered polling places, endless lines, and widespread reports of disenfranchisement.
In Maricopa County, which includes the capital Phoenix, voters waited up to five hours to cast a ballot after the County Elections Office slashed the number of polling sites from 200 in 2012 to just 60 this year. As the state’s most populous county, this amounted to more than 20,000 voters for every available polling location.
As Sanders supporter Patti Serrano told the Phoenix New Times, “I think there’s voter suppression going on, and it is obviously targeting particular Democrats. Many working -class people don’t have the privilege to be able to stand in line for three hours.”
Ultimately, Clinton was credited with winning 57.8 percent of the vote to Sanders’ 39.8 percent. But more than have 36,000 people signed a White Housepetitioncalling on the Obama administration to investigate the voter fraud and suppression in Arizona.
Please support this petition. People don’t have to spend hours in line to vote. The results of Arizona Democratic primary are not accurate - lots of people had no possibility to vote. It’s inappropriate and it blocked Berine supporters from voting. The struggle is hard, but all Bernie’s victories were the product of our empathy and activism. Get in now! Sign the petition! Arizona, we need your votes!
Please, spread it!
For more information, this article is a good start. There were a lot of problems besides the outrageous voting lines.
The Arizona Democratic Party is now investigating the claims. How much you want to bet they’ll find nothing wrong?
With so much national pressure I hope you’re wrong, but this is the state that keeps letting Jackass Arpaio on the ballot … :S
same state keeps electing him.
I REALLY hope I’m wrong and that the national level is called in. They STILL need to investigate Massachusetts.
Ugh. Don’t look at me, I voted for the dude from Pinal County in the last election.
