I’m bored right now so I’m just gonna list some of the characters’ names and guess what their dub names might be, along with an explanation why.

Shun Kurosaki> Shay Hawkins: Shay’s first name has already been revealed, but not his surname. Hawkins is an obvious reference to hawks, which is a bird of prey.

Yugo> Yusion: I feel like they’ll change his name solely for the purpose of Woolseyism. It seems like the only way the “fusion pawn” joke could be handled outside of Japan.

Ruri> Laurie: It’s an English name and seems most phonetically similar to her Japanese name.

Rin> Lynn: Same reason with Ruri.

Michio> Mitchell: Similar to his Japanese name

Mieru Hochun> Marilynn Tells: I could not think of a name for her, so I kinda just took a wild guess for the first name and got the last name from “fortune teller.”

I’m Italian and we already have the dub names of Shun and Ruri! Prepare…
Shun Kurosaki -> Shay Obsidian
Ruri Kurosaki -> Lùlu Obsidian

If american dub don’t want to change them again, this are the dub name :(
