Four Signers are identified by the Fortune Cup’s end. Following the event, they continue on their seperate paths, each having their own revelations. In the midst of this, another group of Signers appear—the Dark Signers.
Now bestowed with the Dragon’s Tail birthmark, Yusei is lured by one of these Dark Signers, leading to a Duel of Darkness where the shockwaves deliver real pain. The Signers then need their own resolve to fight back.
Unlikely foes await the Signers as the 5,000-year old legend continues on, with the world continung towards the future, or becoming Hell on Earth.

A rant on what 5D’s could have been after the DS arc
I love 5D’s with all my heart and soul. I love all the characters and the amazing world building and all the stories. But a large part of that heart and soul basically aches and what this series could have been.
I’m sure we probably would’ve gotten some of this if Tomioka had stayed on as the Series Layout guy instead of Yoshida. Hell, I’m sure the development we got in the DS arc was most likely a result of the notes Tomioka had left for Yoshida when he came on. Shame he didn’t leave any for post-DS stuff…
