Here’s the massive news from With the Will!
- a the new anime is called Digimon Adventure Ψ (Psi)
- it will air in April (9am on Sundays on Fuji TV)
- produced by Hiroyuki Sakurada and written by Atsuhiro Tomioka
- “features Taichi, Agumon, and the others solving problems in the real world caused by Digimon, and apparently they have new Digivices and are in 5th grade”
This information is apparently from the new issue of V-Jump magazine, out today. We should be getting a few more details soon… stay glued to WtW for the best coverage.
So the new anime is indeed an Adventure midquel? interquel? alternative timeline? taking place after the events of the first series. It’s premiering VERY soon, so we’re going to have a busy next few months.
There’s A LOT to discuss here. I’m pretty happy about this, but let’s see how it goes.

I think that Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and Digimon have had very similar evolutions in their art style. Nowadays, they have more rounded characters, bright and shiny colors, weird hairstyles/outfits, and a strong three-dimensional presence. They were how I first noticed the concept of “trends” in artistic periods, so I have a better understanding of art and music history than before. I think Yu-Gi-Oh! looks the best of the three, though.

They told me to pour my heart into everything I do;
so that’s what I did: I poured, and poured, and poured.
Now they ask me why I’m so empty
