Epilogue. At the end of it all, the last remnants of humanity can finally see the new future they fought so hard for. Genuinely one of the most heartwarming things I’ve seen from ygo.

GOD. OK. IF I DONT TALK ABOUT THE END OF THE Z-ONE DUEL LINKS EVENT I’LL EXPLODE. SO. FINALLY. like an unwell woman i screenshotted all 62 (!!) little scenes from it but while the first half is a pretty cut-n-dry play by play of the end of Yusei and Z-one’s duel, the second half just proceeds to hit like a TRUCK.
I love!! Getting this little scene of Team 5D’s as a whole talking about how they need to take care of their future to truly save Z-one, just whenever we get to see this group’s bond makes me smile so much. AND I LOVE THAT DUEL LINKS GIVES US A WORLD WHERE BRUNO GETS TO STAY AN UNDISPUTED PART OF THE TEAM!!!!
Anyway then as if I needed one last brick to the head for the road with this event!! God. This ENDING!!! A.) the unspoken implication of Bruno quietly stepping away from T5D’s to go be by Z-one’s side as the old bastard realizes he isn’t dead. ;__; WOOUGH. Z-ONE IS HIS OLDEST FRIEND AFTER ALL!!!!!! B.) ok so maybe duel links is seto kaiba’s little ego project creating AI memory clones of people from dimensions he’s never even been to, so maybe that’s a little terrifying, MY FUCKIGN PEEPAW POLYCULE!! GET TO LIVE ON IN THIS DIGITAL REALM!!! IN CARD GAME HEAVEN!!! AND ACTUALLY SEE TEAM 5DS CREATE A BETTER SAFER FUTURE!!! Z-ONE DOESNT HAVE TO DIE HE CAN BE WITH HIS LOVED ONES RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!!! SO MAYBE IT’S NOT ALL BAD OUT HERE!!!!!!!! CRYING. CRYING. CRYING SOBBING A LOT.

wahhhh Leo’s conversation with Z-one 😭 This kid so full of earnest hope that was strong enough to yank Aporia’s brain out of the dark at it again….. “You’re not alone anymore” makes me WAIL!! Especially since this Z-one ISN’T alone; he doesn’t have to die in this world!! His friends are here and the future can be saved!!!
And the fact Leo’s enthusiasm and steadfast belief in his friends is enough to actually give Z-one pause, even a little bit….getting to openly admit his trust needs to be earned is progress! More progress than some have made!!

Also cannot stop thinking about Kalin’s conversation with Z-one–this notion of Kalin effectively being like “oh what, you’re suicidal?? you don’t want to be alive anymore? me too you old bitch you’re not special. let’s take our antidepressants….together.” this nebulously post-canonish Kalin making strides to manage his own issues to the point where he’s willing and able to connect with someone similar (and who woulda thought these two would have much in common!!)
it fuckin’ rules. Kalin rockin these vibes and they suit him SO well

A.) so so cool that they gave Z-one voicelines for summoning Yusei’s dragon(s), B.) really REALLY cool that one of them is for Delta Accel Synchro since that’s what his timeline’s Yusei used, C.) ABSOLUTELY ENDLESSLY FANTASTIC THAT THEY MADE HIM SAY ‘LET’S REV IT UP.’ DELIGHTED. OVERJOYED!!!
