“If an ‘Armed Dragon’ monster(s) and/or a LIGHT Machine Fusion Monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish 1 ‘Ojama’ card from your hand, face-up field, or GY instead. You can only use each of the following effects of ‘Ojama Pajama’ once per turn.
During the Main Phase: You can add 1 ‘Ojama’ card from your Deck to your hand, then discard 1 card.
If this card is sent to the GY: You can Special Summon as many of your banished ‘Ojama’ monsters as possible.”
Been seeing some memes about these two and looking at the evidence presented again, yeah, they cant be anything but twins! Mostly for appearances that is;;
It’s neat that this 5D’s Duel Chronicle event included this Nazca arc on a map, given how the dub left the corresponding episodes undubbed; lets us see how it would’ve probably been dubbed, and while most of the event text here is pretty accurate iirc (save for Jack’s “[Bommer]’s a fortuneteller, is he?” 4K/KCMism line early on), a few observations here:
I’m glad yet a bit annoyed that Konami properly translated Jack’s Synchro chant for Scar-Red Nova Dragon here when it’s the dub line in the voice files. (As I still am that Yusei got proper translations for the Red Daemon’s and Blackfeather Dragon chants yet Jack and Crow, the actual users, don’t) At least be consistent one way or the other guys, lol.
Crimson Devil -> Fiend was always an anticipated change, so no real surprise there, though it was also previously named “Red Nova” according to Yugipedia, so… another bit of inconsistency, lol.
Also glad yet a bit annoyed that Yusei gets to say “Clear Mind” in the event dialogue when he didn’t get to in the anime’s dub iirc, yet I don’t think it’s in his English voice lines, with the corresponding voice line being another “rev it up.” (Similarly, in the event dialogue covering Yusei’s duel with Placido and then later vs Jose/Aporia, they keep “Stardust Mirage” as Shooting Star’s attack name, but of course it’s “Falling Star Slam” in the voice files…)
Burning Soul -> Blazing Soul… sure? Guess it may as well have already been established when Red Nova’s attack name became “Blazing Soul Strike,” but I don’t really see the point of that, lol. [also ruins the synergy with Masaaki Endo’s kickass “Clear Mind” but I guess that’s not really a consideration lol]
It’ll be interesting when we get the next 5D’s Chronicle event that includes the Ark Cradle/Divine Temple events, since they still included Aporia saying “ThE tEmPlE iS gOnE aNd ThE cItY aNd ItS pEoPlE aRe SaFe” lol. I figure Duel Links was eventually going to have to give us stuff from what the dub didn’t get to; since we already have Judai/Yubel, it was at least a given we’d get GX S4 stuff too. But at least only GX and 5D’s have this unfinished-dub problem, to KCM’s credit.
jou’s redemption story is nice and all but when i think about how kaiba pretty much did the same thing as him, i wonder if jou stealing the final piece of the millennium puzzle actually saved his (and honda’s?) life/sanity
like kaiba steals yugi’s grandpa’s treasure and gets tortured for it. jounouchi steals yugi’s treasure and gets redemption and friendship. is the only difference here that the millenium puzzle wasn’t finished for jou? if the puzzle was finished earlier, would he have been subject to a shadow game if he did something similar (or just for bullying yugi)? with what we know about him afterwards, would we still think he’d deserve it, or would he still deserve to be redeemed? what does that say about every other victim of the shadow games?
a the new anime is called Digimon Adventure Ψ (Psi)
it will air in April (9am on Sundays on Fuji TV)
produced by Hiroyuki Sakurada and written by Atsuhiro Tomioka
“features Taichi, Agumon, and the others solving problems in the real world caused by Digimon, and apparently they have new Digivices and are in 5th grade”
This information is apparently from the new issue of V-Jump magazine, out today. We should be getting a few more details soon… stay glued to WtW for the best coverage.
So the new anime is indeed an Adventure midquel? interquel? alternative timeline? taking place after the events of the first series. It’s premiering VERY soon, so we’re going to have a busy next few months.
There’s A LOT to discuss here. I’m pretty happy about this, but let’s see how it goes.
After the hundreth rewatch of random s2 bits i only noticed now that, during the ep of saiou vs orgene, we have this line from asuka (referring to saiou):
Then, Saiou goes to Samejima and asks him if the Prince could come. When Samejima says Orgene is very busy and it’s very hard to convince someone like him to spare some time, we see this reaction:
then, when Samejima says the prince will still come, this is is Saiou’s reaction:
And… im not completely excluding the possiblity of just another gratuitous dramatic shot but, with asuka’s line, and how similar this is to that one scene against manjoume in the forest… Well Im pretty sure at this point Saiou is already concerned by the light’s plan kind of wished the prince wasn’t actually coming. Like i always kind of considered the limit between Saiou and the light to only clearly appear against manjoume and when he gives the keys, but it actually shows meanwhile too??? I don’t think he was completely separated from the light at this point, but he’s already struggling against it.
