I can’t even explain what the fuck happened here. Fujiwara basically did what Zorc did in the Millennnium World arc at end of the third volume of DM but HOW AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE?! They’re not playing some RPG and Darkness/Fujiwara does not have control over time so what’s the deal?! And it ruins what the duel was building up to, it was so dramatic and emotional. This duel should’ve ended in a tie like we were shown. I’m so angry with how this duel ended.
Well, the thing was that everything happening after Fubuki’s “I’ll save you from Darkness!” claim, leading to the tie, was Fubuki’s ideal conclusion to all this. Like Fujiwara says here, the darkness Fubuki has had is not being able to save him back then; everything we see is basically from Fujiwara’s 3rd-person point of view, since he’s just peering into that darkness, seeing how it’d play out.
EDIT: Forgot the little detail about Judai and Johan being able to tell that it actually happened lol. Of course, Fubuki’s still none the wiser; to him, he was still claiming he’d save Fujiwara.
