JC, aka GymLeaderLance99 or GLL99 or Lance99. 32|He/Him|NYC. I fansub GX, work on dub/sub comparisons for 5D's (and GX eventually), and have various other projects going. Expect a mix of YGO stuff (and a little ZeXal and SEVENS [which I'm slowly watching]), with some occasional randomness.Duel Links ID: 537-542-930 | Master Duel ID: 999-767-712

  • I regret to inform that the infamous “flesh-surpassing power of the D!” line was a mistranslation 😔 (Old line on the left, finalized revised line on the right)

(lol, but really, the line, in response to Judai’s “Are the D-Heroes powerless against Mizuchi, too?”, is actually “Eを超えたDの力をなめるなよ!”/”E wo koeta D no chikara wo nameru na yo!” But when first doing episode 78 years ago, I[’m pretty sure] I misheard “E” as “mi” or “body/flesh” and so that’s how that was born, haha.  This also makes sense since here, Ed’s still trying to prove his own value above Judai’s in Mizuchi’s and Saiou’s eyes.)

(Looked at Crunchyroll and they covered this line as “The power of D, which exceeds that of E… Don’t underestimate it.” which… sounds stilted to me, lol.)
