Hey, Mr. Lance. I have a music question. In MAKEMAGIC, there are those parts that go like (Lucy ku ku Lucy) that are translatable words. If you made a singable english version of the song for any reason, would you leave them be or translate them?
(sorry for the late reply, I was busy bu bu busyyy this weekend)
(Also, for readers’ reference [did you know there was an official music video for makemagic? You do now!])
That’s a good question, and I thought I might’ve started a singable translation but seems I haven’t lol. I didn’t think they were translatable words tbh, but I checked with other folks over on NAC who know Japanese, and I’m surprised I didn’t catch them, though the rhythmic stuttering might’ve caused that. The stuttered words and the words they’re meant to be:
Kurushii (lucy ku ku lucy; painful/tough)
Munashii (munassy muna muna nassy; empty/futile)
Sabishii (savissy sa sa vissy; lonely)
Scary (scary sca sca sca)
Kanashii (nassy ka ka nassy; sad/miserable)
Negative (negatty ga ga ga)
(Also just picked up from this that the “pri hani fei” in the last break of the song is meant to be “pretty honey face” which… I can see now, lol.)
So, tl;dr yeah I should be translating them. :)
