Hey, are you planning on subbing the Yugioh HD remaster as it airs?
Been meaning to answer this one haha. I actually wouldn’t mind doing it, except I’ll kinda have my hands full with my finalized!Season 1 GX subs. XD Depends on how my time looks around then, if I’ve gotten a bit more stable IRL and whatnot. Would be cool given my more-rekindled interest in DM thanks to the manga. Also depends on what the remaster turns out to be, too (like if it’s just touchups or if we get some Kai-ish treatment in terms of filler); I feel like GX_ST’s subs already work well enough (save some lines here and there) for the original material lol.

Juuuust a quick PSA since, based on this photoset, it looks like you’re watching my old subs: these were done when I wasn’t so good at Japanese or subbing EONS AGO, and I’ve updated/finalized the translations recently. You can keep up to speed with all my subbed episodes as I update them, with Seasons 1 and 2 getting updated in the near future, with this handy streaming masterpost!
For an example, this bit’s more accurate dialogue: ”This is your playmate, Echo. She will be taking care of you as needed.”
How major are the updates? Asking since I’m watching episode 119 as I write this and I want to know if it’s worth going to the trouble of downloading the remaining episodes.

I’d say “really major”, since at least 90% of the dialogue was originally subbed going by Janime’s old summaries, which didn’t cover every little detail about the sentences or side-scenes, so in my pre-semi-awesome-at-Japanese state in high school, that’s what I used. For this go-around, the dialogue is a lot more accurate since I used closed-captioning scripts to go by (especially noticeable once you hit 137) and was much better to go by ear for what I couldn’t. The style is also updated to be consistent with how my Season 1 and 2 subbing style grew (since I did 3->1->2->3->4); nuances here and there, lines more in line with the personalities/speaking styles I saw everyone with, etc. And there’s some detailed stuff going on here and there, like some translated screens and whatnot (which I’ll be giving Season 1 and 2 as appropriate once I start going back there).
Also, stuff like translated OP/EN credits, the ATK/DEF counter stat subs looking a bit better, and the fact that the raws are Astral Union’s DVD rips and not TV-rips, so 105+ are all in top-notch quality.
But yeah, you don’t have to download them; that masterpost has streaming links for all my episodes on my Cloudy channel. If you really want to get sold on my finalized episodes, just watch an old version of an episode (do it for 114 or 119; as plot episodes, you can really tell a difference!), and then the updated one. :P
