Yeah, it was actually 三沢っち (Misawa-cchi) ; it’s kinda like -ちゃん (-chan), except while -chan would be like “Lil’ X” (like “Lil’ Judai” from Mrs. Tome), -cchi would be like making “Mike” “Mikey” or “Kris” “Krissy”. "Misawy" was how I figured I’d work it with “Misawa” lol.
Yo, Siliva! Well… kinda/sorta all of them tbh.

HOWEEEEEEEEVER, it’ll be Season 1 and most of 2 seeing most of the finalizing, since the translations and stylings are going to be more touched-up and all, along with a few tweaks as they come up (with se-to-oh’s #gxerrors tag, I’m wanting to try tackling a bunch of them if they’re doable). And also, the added pro of using DVDRips as the source lol. The only updates I’m expecting for Season 3+ are for the OP/EN styling and new sub styling I started with Season 1, the translated previews, and the eyecatch “Duel Monsters” thing I’ve added. I think I may have to update a line in 156 from that flashback to 3, but yeah, I’d say Season 3+ is at least 95% finalized. Depending on how things go IRL this year (hopefully well), the pace may or may not get to pick up lol.
You’re welcome, glad you’re enjoying ‘em! And yeah, having a Tumblr hasn’t been too shabby lol. A lot of cool people around too. :)
I… I have songs?

Not awful, per se; honestly, if you look past the mostly minor thing or two wrong with it (like the occasional acting irk and slight inconsistencies), it’s an enjoyable watch. Like I said in that other post, I feel like they started hitting their stride around episode 6 and really started getting it by 9; seeing them go on would’ve been really cool.
But yep, now that I’m home, I’m uploading them now :)
Hey, it’s cool lol. Hmm… I’d say it’s more than likely an error, since all these DVDs coming out, minus BBT, have been dub-only. But then, 5D’s does have its subbed release on Hulu, so there’s a slim chance it’ll see a subbed release eventually. But as it is, given how warped some of the episodes can be because of cuts/scene-moves (*glares at episode 1*), these DVDs won’t be dual-audio.
Been meaning to answer this one haha. I actually wouldn’t mind doing it, except I’ll kinda have my hands full with my finalized!Season 1 GX subs. XD Depends on how my time looks around then, if I’ve gotten a bit more stable IRL and whatnot. Would be cool given my more-rekindled interest in DM thanks to the manga. Also depends on what the remaster turns out to be, too (like if it’s just touchups or if we get some Kai-ish treatment in terms of filler); I feel like GX_ST’s subs already work well enough (save some lines here and there) for the original material lol.
But of course! I’m working on getting it ready for posting right now lol. I always post download links there a bit after I’ve uploaded an episode for streaming; I’ll also announce them here on my blog’s “As The Subber Subs [#subbing rambling]” page.
Well, he’s basically showing his true colors. You basically have to retrace his time on the show to see why it’s notable, and I saw a post earlier that covers this well, but the gist is that… *spoilers under the cut*
Yeah, that’s what replaced all the King talk. In episode 1, “There’s only one King—and that’s me!”->”Who’s the Master of Faster? Who rules the duels? That’s right, it’s me!”
idk it just sounds lame to me; keeping the “King of Riding Duel” concept would’ve been better. It was also at a time when 4Kids was doing whatever they wanted with the dub, and an era I try not to revisit lest I be flooded with trash-talking and extra dialogue, pointless card interruptions made to fit said trash-talking, random plot points inserted for no reason (like Yusei’s amnesia or Ushio working for Jack), and heavy doses of “Let’s rev it up!”.
Thankfully, though it still has some spotty accuracy issues, the dub comes to be passable come the WRGP arc lol.
Hey there! :) Well I know se-to-oh’s been posting links to each episode every week as they’re subbed by either Monosubs or GX_ST/NACSubs, so that’s a place to start. Worst-case, you can download GX_ST’s scripts over on the NeoArkCradle. (And don’t worry, I’m in no position to judge, I haven’t gotten past episode 15! and that was two years ago)
Haha the only set of OP/ENs that I’ll feel that for are 99% and Wake Up Your Heart, and only because they were around a lot longer than they probably should’ve. XD That said, going by the songs on their own, The Sun/Taiyou is my favorite ending theme, and Teardrop is still a really good song, though I guess part of that is how I always mentally attribute it to Season 3’s tone change lol. Honorable mention for KENN and Wake Up Your Heart, though. Paired with the animation, I liked Teardrop V1 a lot (the one where Judai’s sad standing with Johan) and Precious Time Glory Days, but it’s hard to pick an ending video since they were all basically card commercials… I’d probably go with The Sun again, since it was just a bit more than just card stills.
Thanks for the ask!

Yep, I do! I dunno what it is, but it sorta had me hooked from episode 1. Maybe it’s the music (done by the awesome dude who composed Code Geass’s soundtrack, mind you), or Yuya’s “laugh things off” attitude (which I’m sure is going to get twisted later), or Katsumi Ono coming back to direct it, or just the general atmosphere of the show; I couldn’t tell ya. But after the general tone I got from early ZeXal and how I didn’t like it (may change when I give it a full rewatch, since I’ve heard it gets better), the fact that I got fully hooked come episode 4 and Yuya’s little display at the end probably says something. It’s also got interesting plot threads going on, like Reiji, Yuto and the other Dark Duelists/the whole alternate dimension thing, the LDS trio, and I do want to see how they get handled, along with whatever new things get thrown in.
So yeah, so far so good; definitely give it a watch if you haven’t already!
