What is UP y’all. I’m back with a cover of an anime OP for the first time in five million years. 👏👏👏 (well technically it hasn’t been a year since I did one, but that one got zero notes, so in social media terms, I haven’t done one in a while 😂😂😂)
The reason for this cover is two-fold: 1) we just celebrated VRAINS being around for 2 years and honestly, with all the issues it had production-wise, that’s awesome + 2) some folks really thought this song wasn’t good, so I covered the song to prove them wrong. IT’S SO MUCH FUN TO SING OK.
(editing it’s a different story tho….. rip. also I couldn’t find an instrumental for the song, so my man TOMMY’s singing in the back LMAO)
But anyway, if you listen to this, thank u so much and I hope u enjoyed listening to it as much as I did singing it. 🙏 (especially this ~one~ part. you’ll know what I mean if u listen)
I mean I could’ve, but also, it was a spur of the moment decision on a Friday night to record this SO….. (but thank u tho ‘cause that means I get to re-edit this now lmao)
I’m well aware it’s off in a few spots adslfjlkasjf. After the first recording, I noticed I was…. singing faster than the actual OP which didn’t make sense b/c I was playing the actual OP at the same time. And then, it became a “So is Tommy singer faster than I am or am I singing faster than Tommy” recording/editing game.
Ten hecking recordings later, I just. Gave up. Like I made sure the off-syncness wasn’t blatant obviously, but I figured “what the hell I’m just doing this for fun and not getting monetary profit, so out to the world it goes.”
so yeah. 😂😂😂
I know that feel 😂
😂 Have been wanting to record a few covers myself lately but way too much on my plate already lmao (And you’re welcome!)
And ooh, that makes sense! Didn’t mean any harsh critiques by it (hence the “few spots” lol) since yeah, spur of the moment live your best life, just picked up on it 😅
I was today years old when I learned Kiryu’s Seiyuu Yuuki Ono also voiced Josuke in JJBA and I just
(Dub version included because Marc Diraison continues to prove he’d rock as Kiryu in an uncut 5D’s redub)
Im cackling b/c this conversation came up on skype the other day and there are, a fair number of ygo voices in JJBA.
Aside from the obvious one of Takehito Koyasu doing Saiou (in GX) and Dio, we also have, Daisuke Hirakawa (Durbe from ZeXal and Kakyoin), Kensho Ono (Yuya from Arc V and Giorno), KENN (Judai from GX and Secco), Atsushi Miyauchi (Strong Ishijima from Arc V and Cioccolata). And in the games Kakyoin is voiced by Koji Yusa (Fubuki from GX)
KENSHO ONO YESSSS
I started Golden Wind a week or two ago with friends (only seen up to episode 2 so far) and I loved that Kensho’s voicing Giorno; can’t unhear Yuya lmao (also he voices the main character in Hakyu Sho[something] Engi which is on Crunchyroll and it’s this show where a manga was adapted into a super-fast-paced anime but he sounds exactly like his Yuya there haha)
I can’t wait to run into KENN with Secco there, and I have to check out Koji Yusa’s Kakyoin lol
Also did I see a thing about Takeru being Jonathan Joestar in the games
Going to be trying to redo my 5D’s dub/sub comparisons on a new Wordpress site–Bluehost hosting is costing a bit too much nowadays, plus they just renewed my Lance99.com domain (when I meant to cancel…) but the site itself is gone… 😒–which shouldn’t be too hard since I saved all the html formatting so a simple copy/paste should do, but I want to go with a site domain that shows some GX/5D’s love
but also wanna kinda leave it flexible to throw in my occasional ARC-V and VRAINS dub/sub comparisons…
Thinking “WrathOfStardust?” (always liked the shot of Stardust Dragon from 5D’s OP1 that’d been my site’s header image) or “Wrath of Scrap Fist?” as a nod to Neos’s “Wrath of Neos!!” and Junk Warrior’s “Scrap Fist!!”… Maybe some sort of a nod to the idea of comparisons? leaning towards wrathofscrapfist atm tho
Also, in other project news, I figure I should finally catch interested folks up on this: GX sub finalizing. So, I was hoping to get 44-46 done so I could release that as a triple-threat, but between the animation fixes I worked on and other stuff going on irl, I only just got to starting 46′s scripting 😭 Did just finish up 45, it and 44 are already quality-checked, and atm 46 only had one animation fix I’ve already handled, so I should get it done in the next week!
Once that’s done, I’m looking forward to a break to work on 5D’s dub-uncut #22. (On the bright side, maybe I’m unintentionally buying myself more time to see if Konami adds Kodo Kinomiya to Duel Links so I have some screams of his to work with? That speech by Akiza near the end is still just… ugh.)
…I’m surprised no one watching my 5D’s dub-uncuts have pointed out that I have Yoshida listed as “Series Composer” in the Kizuna credits when it should be Atsuhiro Tomioka 😮
All right, so with everything up-and-loaded over on Cloudy, the downside is that they don’t have a playlist function so I can organize everything like on Dailymotion. Enter this post, where you’ll find all the links sorted out by seasons! I’ll be updating it as I upload my finalized Season 1 episodes in the coming weeks, so check the original post periodically or keep an eye on the notes for any reblogs of it I do so you’re aware of any updates. Also, keep in mind that you can download these from NAC, since I post all my downloads there!
If you would rather download, you can also use this torrent set up by rhodanum with all of my subbed episodes, including my updated Season 3 subs (which you won’t find in other torrents): http://bit.ly/1dVusa2
(Before you go on here, if you don’t mind, would you please take a minute to sign this petition I’ve set up to get GX’s unreleased music tracks released? A lot of GX wouldn’t be as good as it was without the unreleased music, and it’s still disappointing that the delayed Sound Duel 2 didn’t cover much of them. Fans got ZeXal an unexpected Sound Duel 5, so we’re trying to do the same for GX here! Spread the word if you can, too!)
Also, Crunchyroll has begun to roll out official GX subs as of 8/1/15! This is excellent news for the fandom, and while you’re more than welcome to continue watching my subs, be sure to give their subs at least one watch just to show support for the official release! You can also just have their upload playing on a muted tab while you watch my version!
To keep the html’d list consistent, season breaks are denoted like this; arc breaks are in italics.
UPDATE (10/2/18): Finalized!Episodes 1-40 now belatedly on the list! Also, it came to my attention that the links were refreshed recently, so I just had to go through the whole list to update the links here; nothing was taken down, they just updated the video IDs. But I’d forgotten to update this post with finalized!40, so… good timing? 😅
If you see any busted links, shoot me an ask and I’ll fix it up! Make sure you check the original post first, though; I may have already fixed it. :P
So @darkvalkyria brought it to my attention that links in this masterpost were broken; as I mention in the update, it turns out they just refreshed the video IDs and nothing was taken down. So, the list is up-to-date; thanks for letting me know!!
If you’ve reblogged for reference before, make sure you’re checking the original post so you have all the up-to-date links to use!
