(EDIT 2/22/22: Noticed recently that the YouTube upload for this was copyright-blocked by 4KMedia/KonamiCrossMedia–just reuploaded this to my backup Videa.hu account, if you want to watch this)
So, a while back, I’d helped Mark de Groot/JorporXx out with lyrics for a few of his upcoming covers [one of which I thought would already be out… lol], and I asked if he happened to have his vocals for Teardrop lying around. As I’d been bored, I’ve been wanting to mash his cover with an instrumental to the TV version of the song and not the full released version, but it’d been hard to get a decent-sounding vocal rip of said TV version because of the echoes. But since working with the DVD rips for my subbing, having access to the vob files meant I could work with cleaner audio, so I was able to work a better instrumental out. He provided his vocals as thanks for my help, and I finally got around to trying to put it together!
The reverb from the main vocals is still mostly around, but it still works well enough with Mark’s vocals there to obscure them a little bit (though some of the instruments in the first verse were slightly removed). I had to speed up some of his singing to match the quicker tempo in the TV-size version of the song (and when I snuck in the official instrumental, I had to speed that up too to match the pacing of the opening), so I played it alongside the original version to pick out where to do so.
I was going to just slap the video on, but to make it look a little better I’m a perfectionist, I also thought I’d do it with a cleanly translated version of this opening based on how I translate my OP/ENs (crediting Mark and Hiltonium for singing and lyrics, respectively, in the OP Theme credits; I wanted to add a little link there but lol YouTube stopped doing annotations and there’s all this newfangled end card junk I haven’t uploaded to my YouTube in a while). The result does look nice, and ugh, Mark’s singing is phenomenal for this.
Enjoy! And go subscribe to Mark for some more of his awesome covers!

So I said before I’ll be going ahead on this side-project, replacing Yamamoto’s music with Yutaka Minobe/Wall 5 Project’s work from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s’ awesome soundtrack–just so there’s a consistent soundtrack I can watch the show with, and also just messing around for some fun–and I’ll be sharing it for whoever’s interested in seeing how it pans out. I downloaded some 320kbps rips of the first two Sound Duels to get some good quality in here, too. The goal’s to make it to The Final Chapters to give the show a full consistent soundtrack, ideally without any placements rivaling that disco theme (you know the one) in terms of awkwardness.
After months of delaying it, here’s episode 4! I did a new sort of tweak with the scene where I had Godwin’s Theme play for the scene with Yemma, having it cut out as Goku’s all “Yo!” at him (as opposed to my earlier idea of a disc-scratch). Personal favorite scenes include “The City” over Goku being ridden towards Snake Way, “Showdown” over the Raditz flashback, and one of the twins’ themes over Goku worrying about eating/asking about Baba, since the Yamamoto track had a cutesy track there. Let me know what you think!
I might include song lists too, as I get these done; I plan to work on these a little quicker, so hopefully episode 5′ll be done sooner.
5D’s!DBZKai Episode 4 (WIP) - Respect your Satanic Gatekeeper, kids!
So I’m getting back to finally doing some more work on my YGO5D’s!DBZKai side-project as I get episode 4 underway, and I hit this scene. Originally, Yamamoto’s cover of Bolero was playing, and I debated between using Legend of the Signers and Rex Godwin’s theme here before settling on Godwin’s theme (since I felt like Legend of the Saiyans Signers might be best to first use when Vegeta’s doing his death monologue to Goku later). But then Goku does his “Yo!” and I got the idea to record-scratch the music for the shot before picking it back up, haha.
I’ll either do this or just play the song through, but I was wondering what people might think of it! :P
Hey, guys!
So, a while back, I got the idea to eventually try to get into subbing ARC-V myself; I’ve been really enjoying the show, and I’ve been wanting to bring more accuracy to the subs that are already out. I joked before that I’d start when I hit 777 followers (referencing the 777th YGO episode celebrations), but a few weeks ago…

…it happened, haha. (Thanks to everyone who’s been following me! I’ve gained 10 more since, but I appreciate everyone sticking around, even as I post about all the different stuff I’m working on, haha.)
So yeah, I’ve spent the last few months prepping, whipping up scripts for the OP and EN, getting raws together, etc (main reason I was also delaying it was because I was waiting for DVD raws to work with, given animation touch-ups and all [and hopefully they’ll fix Kite’s “Trap” error]). I’m starting from the beginning, and I’m planning to go into it the same as I do my GX subs: translating the OP/ENs, the title card, the previews, etc. And I’ve made some headway; I’ve finished the karaoke for BelieveXBelieve (and lemme tell you, that was an adventure) and have finished translating the whole OP, which you can check out here! (May just do a minor tweak or two to it now, but that’s what you can expect) I just need to work on the karaoke for One Step, and that’ll be good to go, too. Special thanks to Jake759 (who’s helped me with GX’s textless title cards) for recreating the credits’ flashing effects and helping with the script I’ll use for the title card.
Planning to likely to work on it two-GX-one-ARC-V for the time being, as GX will be a higher priority while I finalize my scripts (and I’d also like to work more on my DBZKai/5D’s project), but I’m definitely looking forward to this. And hopefully you guys are, too. :)
Hey!
So, I’ve slowly been working on this project in between my fansubbing YGO GX; Dragon Ball is sorta my secondary fandom–though I’m less active in it, I’ll occasionally reblog a thing or two here–and the Kai dub has been insanely fun to watch. However, a lot of fans likely know how Kai’s composer, Kenji Yamamoto, was canned over a music scandal where a lot of his tracks were plagiarized–three episodes away from ending after Cell. Toei rushed to replace his tracks with Z Kikuchi stuff, then went back to the rest of the series, which wouldn’t be a bad thing–if they used more tracks to work with. I loved the Yamamoto score despite that, and while I like the Kikuchi score, I felt the music gets repetitive too easily given the limited tracklist. (Also, a Cell arc theme playing in the Saiyan arc wut)
Now, I love consistency (as anyone who knows how I go about subbing knows), and I’m also a big YGO fan. Way back, I got the idea to time the vocal tracks for clips with 5D’s’ soundtrack (Wall 5 Project/Yutaka Minobe; YGO series generally have great music, and 5D’s is up there); one of my favorites was Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation to “Light & Dark.” And then, I decided I’d try to make a consistent soundtrack for Kai using that soundtrack. It’s amazing how well it works in spots, haha.
So, enter this. As I’m only up to episode 4 (which I just finished and am adding here!), I’ll update this post as I get more done and reblog it/post the new ones separately and linking to this, so keep an eye out! Feel free to send me feedback, as I’d love to hear what people think of these, haha. I’m going by the soundtracks’ release order, spacing things out to fit the arcs, unless I feel a track in a later release fits better (saving most of SD3 Disc 1 for likely the Buu arc now that the dub’s finally a thing), and also trying to use some unreleased tracks if able. I’ll figure out a way to release the audio files; either I’ll post them here/NAC, or maybe on Kanzenshuu now that my account’s active there. Stay tuned, lol; enjoy!
(Also, the vocal audio for the Narrator on episode 3′s recap is wonky because the way I extracted the center vocal channel still kept the Yamamoto recap track there; I recreated it from the soundtrack and used some noise reduction to get as much out as I could out; hopefully I’ll get to fix that with better audio.)
The One Where I Start Doing A Thing (WIP #2)
(View here, since Dailymotion took it down)
So, I’ve been slowly working more on this! Just hit the commercial break, and as I said before, I managed to edit out the dub’s music to add on the original OST, while also editing the dialogue to play more in line with the original a bit more (meaning some lines were shortened (like with Henrietta scolding Dipper) or muted (and with scoffs/whatnot, I might recycle them in spots)) Notably, I also made Julia’s lines as Yuzu’s reaching for the Action Card fuzzy like they should’ve been. I also added other SFX as needed to make it sound a bit more natural; luckily, using a vocal remover on the DVD audio let me hold onto most of the original SFX pretty much perfectly (ambient and all, which meant I was also able to get good rips of the alternate tracks in this half/abrupt cuts to work with). Compare it with the first WIP vid I made, and you’ll see the difference, lol.
I started here since episode 10’s a personal favorite, and the dub was also surprisingly good for its first half. And this actually came out sounding pretty good! If only they could’ve officially stuck with the original music… Also, not entirely sure what I’m going for with the footage haha. I started out trying to make it an alternate dub track, then decided to keep some shots they cut (like Yuzu flying after Diamond first hits her directly) but then cut others since they were undubbed (like Sora explaining Hand Fusion, which I had no fluffed-up dialogue to add there) and fixed the music accordingly. Maybe I’ll just make it another track for the raw and just leave in the original audio… Hmm.
Lemme know what you think, haha.

The One Where I Start Doing a Thing (WIP)
Just a little thing I’ve been wanting to do for a while; the ARC-V dub is at least decent and has some decent/great actors involved, but I’ve felt that the one thing hurting the dub the most is the change in music. That, and fluffy dialogue. and awful dialogue
So, to that end, I finally got around to tweaking a plugin in Cool Edit a bit and worked with the audio to get it sounding decent enough to be able to mess around and add the original score back, and here’s a preview! I started here since episode 10’s a personal favorite, and the dub was also surprisingly good for it. I made the dialogue match up a lot more with the Japanese script when possible, meaning some lines were shortened (like with Henrietta scolding Dipper) or muted (and with scoffs/whatnot, I might recycle them in spots). And because the isolator isn’t perfect, I’ll be adding back SFX to make it sound a bit more natural, along with tweaking the audio some more. Thankfully, the dub uses some more moments of silence where there originally was music, lol.
I’ll probably revise this part/the audio as I go along, but here’s this to look at. More of a side project (especially since I still do want to work some more on my 5D’s!DBZKai thing), but one I would like to work some more on. Enjoy!

Burn! - A Full English Fandub (AMV, Subbed)
So, following up my post with the TV-Size version, I finally managed to get this uploaded from my laptop. I’ve been sitting on my translation for the song for a while and had been itching to try singing it out. I just really dig how positive this song is (may have channeled myself a bit in the translation, given how it resonates with me lol), and so I did just that a few weeks ago, then made a nice little AMV to go with it. Also hid a slight spoiler to make this more spoiler-free, though I know it’s been 10 episodes. :P
Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to give some constructive criticism, if anything haha.
And finally got the subbed version re-uploaded!
This is Japanese!BBT after tons of audio editing and a rescored soundtrack to include more tunes from GX and DM that the official version didn’t include, opting instead for more 5D’s music than anything (which, while I love the 5D’s tunes, considering it’s a crossover/anniversary movie, sharing the love would’ve been cool). Sparked by the disappointment most fans felt over at Janime/NeoArkCradle over that, suggestions were brought up, GoldenUmi from GX_ST gave me audio tracks to work with, I worked some editing magic to get rid of most of the leftover music, timed the new songs, leveled them out volume-wise and added some SFX where needed, and BOOM goes the dynamite. It’s not entirely perfect, though, given said editing and having lost the original tracks to try and fix it with, but it’s at least watchable.
(I did tweak the dialogue a bit to match the original more, moreso in the beginning by switching some lines around or muting others (and just realized I missed a good chance with Jaden’s “about to get closer!” line in the first scene), and I added back monster sounds for the most part. Some parts might sound like they’re missing SFX; I really just put more effort into making the Japanese version sound good, lol.)
Subs originally by GX_ST/TnKP, edited by me.
Enjoy! Hope that helps, neoxyzero! :)

“Up/down, that’s how it goes–or so we learn
Feel it! Your heart’ll bu-bu-bu-burn!”
So, this is a preview of a thing I did. be gentle
I’ve been wanting to try dubbing this song for a while now, ever since I whipped up my translation for it, and, well, I was a bit bored this past Saturday night, haha. This is a really good song, though; very upbeat/motivational (it was my morning commute wake-up jam for a while), and I did kinda channel myself a bit in that translation because I really feel that sense of having “so much to face that I’m nervous” and wanting to “blow into the next phase [of our lives]” on a spiritual level. So, hopefully I did the song some justice, lol.
I did dub the full song, and I just edited it down into the TV-size here. I’m working on a little amv to go with the full song, so I’ll post that when I get it done. I do think the full thing came out well, and I think it sounds good in this TV-size version, maybe a few words aside here/there, so hopefully you guys like it!
So, I’ve been working on and failing to get the subbed version of BBT up with the new score on Cloudy for who knows what reason, yet the dubbed version I made somehow works. :S
So, here’s this for the time being, while I work on getting the subbed version to upload. I did tweak the dialogue a bit to match the original more, moreso in the beginning by switching some lines around or muting others (and just realized I missed a good chance with Jaden’s “about to get closer!” line in the first scene), and I added back monster sounds for the most part. Some parts might sound like they’re missing SFX; I really just put more effort into making the Japanese version sound good, lol. Enjoy?
neoxyzero, if you’d like, you can check this out for the time being!
So I bought this new RadioShack microphone (about a month ago… heh), and I’ve been wanting to take it out for a spin. Since I just translated this song, and it’s still THE JAM, I decided to try it out a bit. And I… like the results, lol. Found a guide on mixing the vocals to make it sound studio-ish, just whipped up some “backup vocals” (keep in mind this is a TEST fandub, haha), and finished checking levels to get to this. The instrumental might be a bit quiet, and I think I missed a note or two in there, but yeah, it might be fun working with this mic haha.
Unleash/ハナテ (TV-Size Instrumental)
Whipped up this instrumental, in case anyone wanted to try a fandub (like I’m kinda/sorta planning to) or would just want this because REASONS. Spliced this using the full instrumental and the TV-Size off SD3, using the TV-Size’s intro, outro, and “3, 2, 1, GO!!” bit. Enjoy!
(MP3) (MP3 With “3, 2, 1, GO!!” bit)
(Singable [full] translation I whipped up here)
