ok imma gonna say this right now but honest to god Blue Angel’s duel was hella more interesting than Playmaker’s. 

playmaker’s is literally just “oh all the cards you sent to the grave from my hand happened to have an effect that activates in the grave so i can do something with them and win also when did i have cyberse wizard in my hand to summon it i thought my hand was empty at the start of this turn?”

blue angel’s is layers of strategy and also some poor sop thinking they can out-burn trickstars, fucking trickstars! you don’t out-burn trickstars. cue burn damage race. down to the wire. really nice. also they don’t stop to explain the effects every single time someone gets burned so you get rapid fire damage shots at each other like some kind of shootout. very quick very fast very good. 

also good dynamic animation these duels too tbh, very nice. duels were fluid on both sides. very good. i appreciate this. new director is still showin his animation chops.
