The most recent release of dub DM was originally listed as dual-audio on Amazon, too, for what it’s worth. So - probably some weird Amazon listing thing and not what YGO fandom has been hoping and praying for, alas.

The boxsets, right? Yeah, it would’ve been great, but unfortunately it just wouldn’t work with all the cuts and stuff. Maybe the DM remaster’ll find its way to the US uncut at some point, who knows.

Hey in the Genkai Battle vid when it says "Just let your dreams run in a whir!" did you mean whirl? I know whir is a word too but whirl felt like it made more sense and with the ! there I know I might have let that slip if I were in your shoes ^^

True! Thing is, I was initially going for “run wild” but then I wanted to make it rhyme with the “All just a step to our future…” line just before, and this rhyming dictionary I use pulled up whir. I looked up “run in a whir” to see if it was actually a phrase, and I got a result like “memories ran through my eyes in a whir” or something, so I thought it’d be a good fit since it sounds a bit better rhyme-wise than whirl out loud. Could just be me, though lol.

ngl, it makes me feel a lot better about my own Japanese comprehension to know that someone whose translation work I admire also does the painstakingly-finding-kanji-by-radicals-WAIT-I-HAVE-AN-APP-FOR-THIS thing. :P

Haha you know, I used to do that a lot more when I first started doing translated OP credits in my first run through Season 1. No Android phone back then, though. XD I think I’d just been learning about kanji and radicals in my Japanese classes around then, too, funny enough, and I even had a kanji dictionary I bought for them. I should still have it lying around, but it’s mixed with all my college stuff haha.

It gets annoying when the video “compresses” the kanji so it’s hard to recognize the radicals in the more complicated ones too lol.

Pssst! Hope I'm not bothering you, but do you know what's going on in terms of retiming your updated subs to super high quality DVD rips of GX? I've only got the first 9 episodes I think downloaded and NAC suddenly stopped with that. :o

You’re not bothering me at all! Though that’s actually more GoldenUmi there who’d been working on that; I haven’t started updating my Season 1 subs yet lol (I’m still working on that Borderline Battle thing!). Umi has been really busy though, between life, work on ARC-V, and a bunch of stuff he’s doing, so that may be why it’s been on hold for a bit.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you did (and are still doing) on Yu Gi Oh. I've been reading your tumblr for a while and it's clear you really love the franchise, even going so far as to do things most people wouldn't even bother with (creditless ending videos? That's real dedication right there). You really deserve more recognition. I'll just say this: THANK YOU for doing the best subs YGO GX could ever have had! (coincidentally one of the best anime subs I've seen period)

Aww thanks, this was really nice to read earlier today! :) You’re welcome, as are everyone else, and yep, I really do love the franchise; I honestly probably wouldn’t be who I am without having YGO involved in some shape or form. And I’m all about quality when it comes to my subs; if it involves going the extra mile to edit in something that got changed for the worse, or being attentive to what I have the characters saying and making sure it fits them/isn’t too hard to read in a given timeframe, you can bet I’ll do it. And once Season 1 and most of 2 get this treatment like revised!Season 3+ did, it’ll all come together nicely. :)

Not that I’ve seen, but yeah, that’s one of the bunch of tracks that weren’t released on SD1. That said, it’s still early and I doubt we’ll have a GX situation with ARC-V’s SD2 getting pushed back as long as GX’s was, so odds are it’ll end up on SD2.

(I’ll be disappointed if Yuto and Shun’s little theme doesn’t get on there too lol.)

The subbed version of 074 appears to have its audio and video synched wrong. Any way you can fix it, or is it just me?

Actually, it isn’t just you; for some reason, the version of 74 in the big GX torrent (which I downloaded to upload on Cloudy) has this audio/video desync going on. I dunno why. *shrug* But I’ve been meaning to go and post a fixed version, it’s just a combo of it slipping my mind and not having a lot of time to kill lately lol. I’ll get to it soon!

Is this track one of many tracks that weren’t released in either of the GX sound duels?

Unfortunately, yep >_> For some reason, there was a huge delay in between Sound Duel 1 and Sound Duel 2, such that by the time 2 came out, GX was close to ending and it only got mainly Season 3 and 4 themes, while at least the 20+ that were introduced around the Seven Stars arc and about 10-14 or so intro’d during Season 3 didn’t get released. That includes stuff like “Camula’s Theme”, Impossible Victory, An Ominous Air/“Saiou’s Theme”, and even Johan’s two themes! Along with that one “turnaround” theme, which got put into Tag Force 1 with IV and have been released in some form, even if shortened.

For years now, in between GX subbing, I’ve been trying to rip all of these. You can find them still sitting on my Soundcloud, but I’ve been revamping all of them now that I have the DVD audio to work with, and trying to rip them by splicing the track together from their uses throughout GX. I’m posting them under #Sound Duel 1.5 if you want to keep tabs on that project!

XD Well, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t considering it haha. Though I want to get myself together a bit more IRL before tackling another series. Besides, minus the “reverse name order” thing, I think NACSubs is doing ok, though there are a few “ehhh?” lines here and there. We’ll see how it goes!

YESSS that’d be great, sixweekoldhedgehog! Framechampion, thanks for reminding me about the torrent; I almost forgot I had it lying around. XD In which case, I’ll be able to get the ones you mentioned no problem! So that’d leave 90-95 and 101; a bit more manageable lol. Worst-case scenario, I’ll reencode them. Luckily, I extracted some of those 99% clips when making clips for the montage, so that should help haha.
