if it’s any consolation it’s still the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen even if it didn’t work out as intended
I’ll take it. XD Meh, won’t bother reencoding it now, and I guess the black clips kinda work lol.

what do you mean this is ten years old what the hell
(I guess that explains why I don’t have the DVDs anymore.)
Thank you so much for uploading these! <3
TEN FRICKIN’ YEARS OLD I MEAN HOWWW

(this man is an amazing comedian btdubs)
Though it’s funny, I haven’t seen the uncuts in really good quality in forever; on my old laptop, I just mostly had really LQ encodes from that old Yugioh-fans.co.uk forum. XD So just glimpsing a few of these was refreshing lol.
No worries! :)

honestly the only thing I clearly remember is Jyou somehow ending up as “Katsuya Joey” so I’m sure it was actually okay with a few moments of awful! but now I will get to find out. :D Thank you!
KATSUYA JOEY I FORGOT ABOUT THAT PFFT
I mean, considering they probably just dubbed Jonouchi as Joseph the first time around, and that he gets called “Jonouchi” so much, it kinda makes sense, but still, considering that Katsuya’s his given name and Jonouchi’s the family name, uhhhh…
Also another bright side was not having Bella Hudson come back as Mai. We get Tanya’s VA instead, and while she’s not Hollingshead, she still works pretty well there lol.
Not awful, per se; honestly, if you look past the mostly minor thing or two wrong with it (like the occasional acting irk and slight inconsistencies), it’s an enjoyable watch. Like I said in that other post, I feel like they started hitting their stride around episode 6 and really started getting it by 9; seeing them go on would’ve been really cool.
But yep, now that I’m home, I’m uploading them now :)

The most recent release of dub DM was originally listed as dual-audio on Amazon, too, for what it’s worth. So - probably some weird Amazon listing thing and not what YGO fandom has been hoping and praying for, alas.
The boxsets, right? Yeah, it would’ve been great, but unfortunately it just wouldn’t work with all the cuts and stuff. Maybe the DM remaster’ll find its way to the US uncut at some point, who knows.

ngl, it makes me feel a lot better about my own Japanese comprehension to know that someone whose translation work I admire also does the painstakingly-finding-kanji-by-radicals-WAIT-I-HAVE-AN-APP-FOR-THIS thing. :P
Haha you know, I used to do that a lot more when I first started doing translated OP credits in my first run through Season 1. No Android phone back then, though. XD I think I’d just been learning about kanji and radicals in my Japanese classes around then, too, funny enough, and I even had a kanji dictionary I bought for them. I should still have it lying around, but it’s mixed with all my college stuff haha.
It gets annoying when the video “compresses” the kanji so it’s hard to recognize the radicals in the more complicated ones too lol.
i’m sorry
NIIIIIIIGHTSHROOOOOUUUUDDDDDDNow I’m curious to hear those Italian voices
I’m curious about Italian!Fujiwara now; are there any videos of the Italian dub online?
tf2’s translators come from the ‘mass find and replace’ school of editing, which has resulted in manjoume calling asuka ‘rhodes’ all the time. Great Job
Must be the case in TF3 too lol; have you ever met a The Supreme King? I know that the The Supreme King is evil!
“Hey, Princeton!” “oh my god you peasant call me Princeton” “Sorry, Princeton” is the best exchange ever.
(actually, no, Kaiser telling me that my dueling tasted different was the best thing ever, though I know that one’s genuinely a case of “wtf how do I translate that that’s not even a word”)
wow that took me a second when i saw it lol, i forgot that’s probably Manjoume saying “call me The Manjoume!” wow that’s awkward haha (I thought it was a “call me that one more time and i’ll…” kinda thing XD)
For all the dub inclusions they’ve thrown into TF3 (which is funny because you get those dub-isms in flashbacks to pre-Season 4 stuff, and then when anything from Season 4 comes up, it’s basically as said in the Japanese version lol [kinda like the italian dub]), you’d think they’d have made that “The Chazz” for consistency. :/
Also, they could’ve just done what I did (and what he did anyway) and actually combine “taste” and “different” >_>

I’m trying to finish watching this episode but I just keep breaking into hysterics
I mean
his face is a lopsided triangle and his eyes are vastly different sizes and his glasses have clearly been stepped on and his hair looks like it was lined by someone with very unsteady hands and
just
Isn’t the screen just shaking here because of said gravity waves
Yeah, I realized that when I unpaused it. It still looks hilarious, though! And he still has massive triangle chin going on.
It does lol, gives me flashbacks to
