Oh boy…
Hrm.
Yeah ok. So as per dub tradition his parents ‘went missing’ while looking for Takeru (honestly you can just say dead, I promise your target audience knows what death is and has probably encountered it in plenty of other things they’ve watched or read).
Which honestly just makes it WORSE b/c it means they probably got into an accident somewhere and died but it happened somewhere/in some way (like, being so sleep deprived/distracted that they drove off the edge of the road somewhere remote) that no one’s been able to locate their bodies.
Which is horrible.
“How… DARE you…”

Laughing because 4K had to cut out Shootingcode Talker’s attack going through Bohman’s Hydrive monster (I like to think they were snickering at 4K HQ) but the cut is so abrupt that you just see Shootingcode’s attack (named Shimmering Straight Shot because ugh alliteration) launched and then the destruction, right from the glow as shown here before it hits Bohman; if they wanted to make it smoother, maybe have the Hydrive start glowing just as the attack closes in? lol
So Soulburner is played by Eddy Lee in the dub. The same guy who does the tough, yet secretly sweet, edgelord, Gladion. He also did Moon Shadow (Tsukikage) in ARC-V.
Funny thing is, the day he finished his battle with Ash in the Pokémon League in Japan is the same day Soulburner first appeared in the dub.
Hot take:
Replacing Ai telling Linkuriboh, “If all you tell me is, ‘kuri link’, I won’t get you at all!” with Ai lamenting the loss of the Cyberse was lame
come on that was gold
Looks like we finally got some news on Season 2 of the dub.
Love it or hate it it’s coming.
Countdown till we get to hear dub!Takeru and find out if he got any kind of name change.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME 4K
I saw this in my YouTube feed so I clicked through to watch it and when Blue Angel was being snappy about Vyra needing her medical license revoked… permanently… and this whole scene was kinda about that, I thought there was a bit too much of a line/face mismatch going on and the joke was going on too long, so I looked up the Japanese scene…
…and they rewrote this scene completely. Originally, we flash back to Blue Angel affected by the virus back in eps 8-9, and Vyra calls her its test subject which was improved based on the data they got from her (the flashback was cut [it’s between Vyra speaking and Blue Angel reacting], and there’s way too much added lip-flaps to fit in her “outside of Link VRAINS” talk…). Blue Angel then notes that it sounds like she created the virus; she asks Vyra if it’s true, and when she hits back with “What if I say yes?”, she clenches her hand and says she’ll pay. She takes back her “I’ll take on anyone!” talk and says she’ll make Vyra pay ten times over for what she did to her.
That seems like a PRETTY important plot point to write out here… 🤦♂️
I’m glad to inform you that 1) Bishimaker is in the dub and 2) the scene is just as gay, if not more so, in the dub. Like, just listen to his voice!
Fact: Kolter is a fan of cat videos.
(I missed the dub and its unnecessary comedic jokes)
The two highlights from dub!episode 30:
This exchange between Koulter and Ryoken at the hotdog stand (though it does unfortunately replace the ‘this’ll be my last visit’ conversation)
Kolter: Here you go. Two hot dogs with everything
Ryoken: Do they have marshmallows on them?
Kolter: Uh, nope. No marshmallows.
Ryoken: Then technically, they don’t have everything.
And Ai going ‘heart of the cards, guide me!’ when making his draw from Ghost Girl’s deck.
Also Shima’s VR name is ‘Brave Battler’ apparently.
I didn’t think it was possible, but the dub made the acting part of Ai’s recap even funnier than it already was! Ai, you stinker, I love you! XD
