I’ve watched this scene so many times, but I just noticed the line about “order and chaos” in his Xyz summon chant! Order and chaos also refers to Astral World and Barian World in Zexal, the show that introduced Xyz Summoning!
This is even better that Yusaku shares his voice actor with Dumon, who’s a Barian!

So for PlutoTV, dub changed the initial image of Playmaker’s head used in episode 66 that aired in Canada. It did spark a lot of copyright arguing. At least I can tell this was from an episode rather than fan art.
Still weird to put his head on a horse. But it does capture the weird stuff you find on the internet. 😅

This is just my two cents (that everyone probably agrees with rn) but I feel that the vrains dub ending could’ve been handled a lot better…
I understand that they were hesitant on putting that direct confession from Ai into the dub (which doesn’t make sense anyway, since there’s not much need to shy away from lgbt in 2021)
But they could have just…maintained that serious emotional atmosphere and tiptoed around the line by making it platonic (like a ‘you’re the best partner I could’ve ever had’ or something). I don’t mind some witty banter, but in this case it doesn’t nearly convey a fraction of the emotion the original scene had. (And I’ve seen that the dub actually was capable of handling previous 'serious’ scenes in vrains properly, which makes this even worse)
Though I watch yugioh subbed, I still held a kind of fondness for the yugioh dubs that still remained insistent on changing character names, adding copious amounts of corny jokes and changing opening themes in an era of anime dubs which tend to be more faithful to the original text. It always felt like a relic of the early days of anime dubs.
But honestly they really need to get with the times.

It hurt how Yusaku sounds like he’s kind of in denial here. Ai does have a reason, sweetie! It’s a heartbreaking and twisted reason, but he’s not doing this because he’s bad.
Also, points to our fiery sunshine boy for trying to be supportive.

Boy, this scene had me emotional. Yusaku and Theodore care so much about their Ignis. Some of this dialogue hits hard.
It’s good to have the dub airing again. I needed it.

Hello. I began watching the VRAINS dub a few weeks ago, but I had to stop watching when I got to the episode where they stole fanart. That incident reminded me of another show that used fanart for their show and that was South Park. They put Tweek x Craig yaoi fanart in their show and they asked fans to submit their art and watch the episode to see if their art made it into the show. What's the difference between the two that makes one of them look good and the what the other one did was bad?

South Park: The writers/producers got consent from artists to use their art on the show. Thus it was a mutual agreement.
Vrains: The producers did not ask for permission from the artist to put their art in the show. Without giving credit, a lot of people assumed that 4K made the art/edit itself (there are posts floating on tumblr and twitter on that image). So naturally, the original artist was upset (on twitter). Hence 4K are clearly the problem here. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this is straight up illegal but each country has it’s own laws. 4K has its history of shady stuff so this isn’t eye-opening for them to do stuff like this.

Hey @baddyzarc could you put this into words, please? I’m way too confused right now.
So Yusaku Fujiki and Dumon are voiced by the same voice actor (Jake Paque) while Ai and Mach the Pegasus is voiced the same voice actor (Michael Liscio Jr.)
Mach is Dumon’s best friend in their past lives, while Yusaku and Ai are also friends (kinda-sorta, their relationship is complicated). If anything, the orange circles represents their aibou.
From the Playmaker head, there’s a connection to the voice actor, then to durbe, then from durbe to mach. From mach, you can connect it back to the Horse body.
While on the Horse body, there’s a connection to Pegasus-forme Mach, to the actual Mach that shared the voice actor, then from Mach to Ai, then Ai to Yusaku/Playmaker and the head.
There’s also a 1:1 in terms of forms indicated by the green lines just because
-Yusaku to Durbe
-Playmaker to Barian Durbe
-Ignis Ai to Pegasus Mach
-Human Ai to Human Mach
The main red lines got messy (idk why I connected to Barian durbe to Mach tbh and it’s only been an hour since this was made) bc there was confusion on who connected to what, but a good chuck of them could be ham-fisted together somehow
