Jack throwing all the spoilers at Paradox. There’s a very nice throwback all the way from episode 2 of 5D’s here. Jack saying you can’t win just with monsters is exactly the advice he gave to Yusei back then.
I feel like we don’t talk enough about the themes of police brutality in 5Ds.
Like. Yusei is from the hood. He gets arrested by a prejudiced cop. He literally goes to prison and gets tortured there.
He was in a gang pre-series! And the former leader of said gang became a cop killer.
*record scratch* yup. that’s me. you’re probably wondering how I got into this situation.
yugioh gx: what is the nature of heroism? what does it truly mean to give everything for the person you love? is anything justifiable if you’re doing it out of love? is the definition of love subjective? can you be a bad person and a hero simultaneously? is it altruistic to push your loved ones away in order to protect them even if it breaks your heart, and theirs? what does it mean to grow up? is losing your innocence a necessarily part of growing up? does growing up mean giving up everything that made you yourself?
the fans: wah wah wah bring yugi back wah wah. blue eyes white dragon.

Forgot to put this into the last post but
This is what Judai sees when he looks at possessed Johan.
Not the maniacally laughing caricature of him that Yubel uses to hurt him, but the sweet, gentle person he’s come to care for so strongly. This is what he sees and it’s why differentiating between Johan and Yubel is so hard for him at first and why he can’t bring himself to hurt him.
He’s got this image of Johan in his mind that he’s held onto almost obsessively ever since he stepped through that portal, the one thing that kept him going through all the pain. It’s so strong it even overrides reality.
Until Neos makes him see that he has to risk hurting Johan in order to save him. Because this person before him is not the Johan he knows, it’s someone else using him like a tool.
And once he’s fully grasped this
He sees the truth
A Regular Scenario in the Life of Judai Yuki
Yubel knows exactly how to get under someone’s skin.
And they have a valid point. He didn’t *need* to get Exodia (between his Fog King and his Cloudian monsters he’s plenty strong) but he decided he needed it anyways, even after learning of the price to be paid.
And like, idk to me if you’re willing to kill someone you say you love just for power, you probably don’t actually love them as much as you claim.
I just like this shot of Odd-Eyes and Yuya together. They just look so nice together.
