The first version of Yusei’s theme that was never released. This was fan made, mostly, re-created by ear. Unfortunately, I never saved the source. Really good, in my opinion.
I’ll never get why this, Jack Battle 2, Hopeless Battle, and a bunch of tracks from Season 2 weren’t released instead of Clear Mind, Melody of Promises, and You Say on Sound Duel 3 when their singles were already released. A waste of ~15 minutes…

Yu-Gi-Oh 30 Day Challenge
Yu-Gi-Oh 30 Day Challenge Day 1: Which of the series’ have you seen? (You can answer this challenge with every series you’ve seen at once, or do each one separately. I’ve designed this one to be usable for every YGO Series under the sun.)
Saw all of DM dubbed as a kid before getting into Japanese YGO; I started my first subbed watchthrough my Freshman year in college four years ago, and I’ve gotten up to 220 subbed, the beginning of the Ceremonial Battle. Been meaning to watch GX_ST’s subs to finally finish it up. Might just do it this week haha.
Ah, GX. Saw all of Season 1 and some of Season 2 dubbed before getting into the Japanese version when 72 (Judai VS X) aired in Japan. After that, I alternated between both versions until Season 3 came along and got me so hooked that I started subbing it (mind you, my Japanese sucked then, so I was going off of Janime’s summaries) to show people at my high school’s anime club that Japanese GX is so much better. Went on to watch the Dark World arc and on into Season 4 as it aired, lamenting the fact that it was so cut short for 5D’s, but it ended alright with the Yugi/Judai duel. Ever since, I finished subbing Season 3, went back to do Seasons 1 and 2, and now I’m redoing all of my Season 3 subs before going on into Season 4. Here’s hoping I’m done early next year!
And here’s 5D’s. It means the most to me than the others since it’s the first YGO series I saw in Japanese from the start back in April of ‘08, which is why I’m more against the edits done to it than those done to GX. I wasn’t too happy about it cutting into GX’s Season 4, and I didn’t like the idea of motorcycles, but I gave it a chance and saw the first episode. Needless to say, I was hooked on the spot. Started loving the Riding Duels, and along came the Fortune Cup, and it was uphill since. I also love it since it followed me along as I went through college, so I related a lot with the characters and the message towards the end about the future as my Senior year rolled around. The WRGP arc had a lot of…questionable plot execution, but it got interesting after the Ghost Flood. And the Ark Cradle felt like a return to the Fortune Cup era, with a lot of cool moments (Aporia VS Jack/Rua/Ruka and THE FUCKING SUN BLOWING UP). And that finale…still feel Jack should’ve won, but it was awesome to have Junk Warrior finish Red Demon’s off to finish the duel and call back to Kizuna. All in all, my favorite series, just a bit above GX and DM.
Oh, and then there’s this.
ZeXal… I’m one of those people who gave it about 10 episodes before deciding to stick with it, and I didn’t really feel invested into it. Most of the characters were bland, and the more likable ones weren’t Yuma and his crew. Astral was interesting, and I might catch up one of these days to see what happens with him and the whole Tron/Dr. Faker/I-IV plot.

It’s finally up!
Had to change the pitch a bit and sacrifice some of the sync, but it’s up! (Go here to hear it normally; it’s unlisted because NAS)
This is a 5D’s MAD opening based on Code Geass R1’s third (and kickass) opening, “The Wings in the Eyes” (“Hitomi no Tsubasa”), which was used for the last two episodes. Likewise, I made this one to go with the Godwin VS Yusei/Jack/Crow finale to the Dark Signers arc. A
lso the opening to an awesome show with JACK ATLAS as the main character.I picked characters that had similar relationships with Jack as the ones in the CG opening did with Lelouch (so, Crimson Dragon=CC since it gave Jack his birthmark,Aki=Kallen obviously,etc). I also made the translated lyrics singable, so feel free to sing along. :PIt’s been slowly in the works since early March, so it feels good to finally get it done. Hope you like it! 3) Because the screaming was…off in this episode, here’s a comparison compilation. It wasn’t as hilariously bad as all of Yusei’s in 34 (a comp clip I’ll have to redo thanks to YouTube), but yeah.
For people following who don’t know what these are, they’re basically dub/sub comparisons sprinkled with a little humor here and there, inspired by Yu-Jyo (which covered DM). I’ve done 1-58 and 65-73 for 5D’s so far; I’m also planning to work on GX and Bonds Beyond Time, just haven’t had much time to get to them lol. Once I get to 5D’s 64, I’ll probably work on a few.
So yeah, this episode… Well, I think those clips sum it up pretty nicely, eh, Jackie? It was only really accurate during the duel stuff, Jackie; not so much the emotional stuff, right, Jackie? Did I mention this Jackie thing? Jackie?
I really don’t know how I built up a tolerance to this stuff.So, 59’s comparison’ll get revised and put up next week. Back to card games at school for a bit to get subbed!GX 117 all done.
