And then Security’s hot on their trail because Kiryu’s not eating his veggies
Security: Messengers of Tomato Paradise
Guys, look; I just found a rejected dub!Kiryu audition clip! It’s leagues better than what we got! :o
Okay, this is something I made back in 2009 for April Fools, when the dub got up to Yusei VS Kiryu I, and everyone was wondering what he’d sound like. Naturally, I capitalized on that. XD So since I’m running low on last-minute ideas for this year, I thought I’d reupload this haha. Enjoy!

That shadow miasma has a great taste in style
Believer (5D’s)
Just found this gem of an AMV on YouTube! (Edit: Apparently, they used to be on NicoNico, could be why it’s so good lol)
Set to “Believer” by IKUO, aka Digimon Savers’s evolution theme, it’s an AMV recapping the Ark Cradle arc in 5D’s. Very fitting, I’d say, considering the line “mirai e shooting star” and Yusei being known as the “Shooting Star of Satellite…” haha.
So my website’s back online! Wanna read up on some 5D’s sub/dub comparisons? Check it out here!
also the finale to the Yusei VS Rua/Ruka duel and Rua jumping to save Ruka gives me FEELS every time i read it
Fun Fact:
If you have Volume 5 of the 5D’s manga (or Ride 33), turn to page 21 with Jack’s “The duel[ing] of one who creates possibilities! The duel[ing] of a King!” lines. Have “Jack Battle” cued up. Turn the page and start playing “Jack Battle” as Jack starts his turn. Imagine everything happening as it would in the show, and it’ll flow perfectly ‘til the end of the chapter.
I played it while reading it on the train the other day and I was surprised then again not really that it worked so well haha.
Also, to add to the YGO vibes I’m getting with Digimon Savers (more because of KENN and Taiki Matsuno, with a side of Takanori “JACK ATLAS” Hoshino), now the Digital World’s threatening to collide into the Human World, causing both worlds to be destroyed, or just the Human World as Yggdrasil/totally-not-Suguru decided.
IT’S ARC CRADLE ALL OVER AGAIN JFCH2WFJLXVXSDHFLKHFD;
wow I thought the clock episode in 5D’s was kinda bad but it figures the dub made it worse
-Zola explaining why she’s so calm with Yusei and not Crow->“oh I’m just yelling at you because my son’s coming and I need PRACTICE” also the fact that she already knew he was coming
-for some reason, Lyndon wants to be a duelist and just randomly squeezed in a clock-repair class; pretty sure Leo left to study clocks.
-“I used to tie my father’s bowties too”->“psychic dueling and bowties, my specialties”
-Leo trying to fix the clock by starting up the stopped gears->Lyndon just tinkering around. also WILL. NOT. SHUT. UP. during his flashbacks.
-apparently Yusei knew Crow planned to lose on purpose, even though Crow set Mirror Force possibly still trying to win, and JP Yusei mentions it being a turnaround card
-JP Crow’s “You don’t get do-overs in life!” line is replaced with something else
-ALL THE TIME PUNS
-also Lyndon calls his Clock Knight a “Clockwing” at one point. there’s a joke in there somewhere
I mean I thought this was the stretch of episodes where they were starting to be more accurate to the script wow
Rewatching 5D’s 78 (Rua/Ruka VS Lucciano P2) when
Ruka (after Rua’s saved from falling a hundred feet or two by the Crimson Dragon): “But what was that? That heartbeat I felt…” (rough translation)
Anyone else sense a Rua/Ruka/Jack VS Aporia foreshadowing or is that just me
