Anzu Mazaki Dances to JACK BATTLE
idk i did a thing lol
Slowly working on a longer thing with Anzu dancing to her original dance battle theme, after the English YGO channel uploaded their hour-long video of her dancing to the dub’s theme (I sense a meme), buuut idk i was bored and JACK BATTLE still slaps and would totally work for a dance-off 💁🏽♂️ [stay tuned for that longer thing haha]
Merry Christmas/happy holidays, everyone! 🎄
Corollary to this reblog I did last night for my uncut DM dub masterpost (just to not make it longer, lol), but just realized (on Yugipedia) that, while the 4Kids dub premiered September 29th, 2001, DM ended in Japan literally three years later on Sept. 29th, 2004. (Though the dub just happened to premiere on that date because 9/11 pushed its premiere back two weeks.)
And then, the first of the three uncut-dub DVDs dropped a few weeks later in mid-October. 🤔
Anyone want to help a curious anon?
Curious, anyone ever get to cut out everyone here individually from that V-Jump 777 Calendar way back, or reblog someone who did? @kurivolt managed to get Yuma and Judai, but I don’t remember seeing/reblogging the other three. Asking for a friend~
For anyone who’s reblogged my masterpost of 4Kids’ DM uncut-dubbed episodes, I just updated the links in it (because no one told me they were down until recently :P), so you may want to give the original post a new look!
Wild Drive by Nagai Masato - Official PV
Not what I expected this song’s PV to be… but I’ll take it.
Just curious, I don’t suppose anyone’s seen individual renders of Dark Yugi, Kaiba, and Anubis (bonus if his Sphinxes are in as well) from this promo art for Pyramid of Light?

I wanted to recreate the TV ad for POL’s airing on Japanese TV as shown in GX 13′s TV rip, using footage from the HQ movie and all, to either add it to my DVDRip or have it up as an extra. But when the movie’s title comes up, it has Anubis, Kaiba, and Yugi zoom into the screen with their monsters, and then they all zoom out towards “us” individually, with Anubis being the oddball who moves down, lol.
So if anyone has/has seen these arts for them individually (again, bonus for his Sphinxes and BESD) or at least in good enough quality that they can just be cut out and can either point me toward them or send them my way, it’d be much appreciated! Or if anyone has/knows any other similar renders I could use, that could work too! I know I could just use that footage from the TV spot, but it’d really stick out quality-wise. Though, I probably will if no one’s seen these anywhere.
Thanks!
Here’s a 720p RAW of the remaster. And here’s a 406p raw.
Thanks for that! Shame this whole remaster thing is just a lazy crop-job, though. :/ Also disappointed that those shots of Jou/Honda/Anzu in VOICE and the pictures over Genki were just stills (and the panning with the VOICE ones adds insult to injury). The asymmetry going on (especially at the beginning with the Eye) also bugged me, and I didn’t like how the “20th remaster” thing looks on the breakcut, pasted RIGHT onto the Puzzle. At least they kept the shaking for the logo, though.
Meh, guess all that’s left is to hope an accurate dub’s on the way sometime for this. Then, we can just mux it onto the original video lol.
After some Remaster Googling, found this link with screenshots and comments about episode 1! (Note: most suffer from jpg-compression syndrome)
So, from the looks of it, the footage gets cropped top-and-bottom with nothing added to the sides to make up for it (like in DBZ Kai). Also, reading some of the comments, it seems Shunsuke Kazama might’ve re-recorded his lines for Yugi and Dark Yugi? One mentions Dark Yugi not sounding as monotone as he did before.
The bigger things, though, are probably the OP/EN edits. Aside from “20th Remaster” added to the logo in the beginning, shots from the episodes replace those shots of Jou/Honda/Anzu in VOICE, as well as some scenes of Pegasus and Yugi added over the ending verse, and the Pegasus still/Yugi and co stareback seems moved to fit into the last line in the song. Meanwhile, An Energy Shower/Genki gets a pretty big overhaul; instead of just the puzzle box with different pictures in it, we now have the puzzle box in the background with shots from early Duelist Kingdom on top of it, starting with Yugi solving the puzzle and Jou/Honda teasing him.
No raw to watch this all in motion yet, from the looks of it, but I feel like the cropping could’ve been done better, at least.
Also, what’s a remaster without some QUALITY still sticking around?

Update (10/2/18): ALL THE LINKS HAVE BEEN UPDATED! I was told the links to my subbed!GX masterpost might’ve been down when Videa.hu just refreshed the video IDs, so I thought I should update the links on this list, just in case! Please let me know if you find that the links are down, and always check the original post in case they were already fixed!
So I had these lying around and, after some discussion earlier, decided to upload them. This is the uncut dub 4Kids produced with FUNimation way back in… *google-fu* 2004 WHOA WHAT HOLD ON TEN+ YEARS AGO?! WHAT–I MEAN HOW?! :O
*ahem* Anywho, yeah, produced back in 2004. This dub kept the original music and OP/EN, card designs, as well as the original dialogue. How well it was adapted is now up to you to judge. :P Some original names were also kept in spots (like Sugoroku over Solomon), while one instance sounds good in theory, but not so much in practice lol. It only went on for nine episodes before the plug was pulled, with a fourth DVD going up to 12 already planned. The main excuse tossed around was that 4Kids didn’t want them to compete with sales of the dub DVDs (while, while stupid, given it was 4Kids at the time…), but after looking it up on the Wikia and seeing a possible legal rights issue listed there, that seems a lot more plausible. Especially given the contract issues with Yugi’s Seiyuu, Shunsuke Kazama, that were only recently cleared up IIRC for the Crunchyroll subs. And since the Japanese-audio versions were on the DVDs too, it does make sense. But who knows, maybe with the DM remaster going on, they’ll reconsider resparking the project.
And back in March 2016, I spent a few days resyncing the uncut dub’s audio to the Japanese DVD rips (Zero-Raws for 1-4, then Astral_Union’s for 5-9 since ZR had some weird frame rate issue going there). I also tweaked the audio a bit; for one, I added back the more human-like monster sounds (Cyclops/Hitotsu-Me Giant, Crocodilus, etc) that were cut for some reason where no one was speaking over them. And I also made the prologue about the History of Gaming consistent through all nine episodes (originally, it’d either be scripted slightly differently or had different inflections) by using the prologue as used in episode 8, which was much closer to the original’s style. I’ll post these up for download on NAC sometime soon, so stay tuned.
But anywho, enough backstory. Here you go, guys; enjoy!
For more uncut episodes, you can look into watching the Singapore dub; also keeps the original music and dialogue, but they use the dub names and the voices/acting (but mostly the voices) can be a bit wacky at times, DUDE! Still, they made it up to Mai VS Marik at last check, so they have that working for them. It was up on Dailymotion, but currently only two episodes from it are up.
Also, while we’re on the topic, while Googling for the Singapore dub, I dug up this petition asking 4K and Konami to consider an uncut redub. It was made last summer; why not try and boost it? :D (Also, we should all mention the DM remaster going on in Japan as a good excuse to do it lol)
So I ended up on DM ep.200’s page on the Wikia while I was looking for Kaiba going full V-Chin when
“Spiritual Awakening”, known as “Dark Bakura on the Move” in the Japanese version, is the two-hundredth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime. It first aired in Japan on April 14, 2004 and in the United States on October 22, 2005. As an homage to the original Japanese series and to celebrate the second series anime’s two-hundredth episode, the opening theme of the English Dub was temporarily changed to a shortened version of OVERLAP (already used in the original Japanese from episode 190 onwards). OVERLAP was kept for approximately 10 episodes before it was eventually changed back the usual Yu-Gi-Oh! theme music.
what did this actually happen or did I somehow repress this
Guess what’s now online?! :D
After two years, this rescored version of BBT is now all done! Sparked by the disappointment most fans felt over at Janime/NeoArkCradle over how the movie only had two songs from GX and NONE from DM, suggestions were brought up, GoldenUmi from GX_ST gave me audio tracks to work with, I worked some editing magic to get rid of most of the leftover music, timed the new songs, leveled them out volume-wise and added some SFX where needed, and BOOM goes the dynamite. It’s not entirely perfect, though, given said editing and having lost the original tracks to try and fix it with, but it’s at least watchable.
Subs originally by GX_ST/TnKP, edited by me.
Feels good to finally have this off the backburner, lol. I’m uploading my edited dubbed version of this rescore onto my GLL99 channel on DMotion (where my 5D’s comparison videos are), and I’ll put a link up for it as well. You’ll be able to download these from NAC once I post them later tonight.
Enjoy, folks! Stay tuned for GX Season 4 starting up by the end of this week! May take a quick week break after to get 5D’s 59’s comparison done, since I was hoping to get it in during this hiatus lol.
