Hmm, well, going off her JP Wikipedia page, it looks like her only role post-Camula/Johan was in some show called Monsuno in 2013; she’d taken a hiatus after GX before taking that role. Funny enough, she was on a voice-over hiatus from ‘01-’05 before coming on for Camula; her last role had been on an episode of Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo. The hiatuses seem to have been for her to focus on her stage career. It would be neat if she came back in VRAINS or had some more roles in other shows, considering how good she is (and hey, she did come back for Johan, thankfully)

The One Where Things Get Heated (Part 2) [OP/EN 1 Version]
Judai faces a hurdle at 700LP against 3000. As he takes damage, Shou and Hayato inch closer to being scorched as they take the resulting mental toll. Darkness finally summons Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, while Judai cleverly uses Wildman and the Wild Half Magic Card to reduce the Red-Eyes’s power, but…
And here’s Part 2, which I tried to get done quickly after finishing 29 last week for a double-release! Judai gets back into this with the looming threat of Shou and Hayato meeting hot lava, only to have Darkness bring out his real ace in Red-Eyes Darkness. This was a really good intro episode for it, and overall, the duel played out pretty entertainingly through the episode. Judai brings out a new Fusion Hero that’s pretty badass, and it leads us to a big reveal at the end that’s been episodes in the making. Which makes for a touching little scene that the dub happens to ruin.
I heard you were also interested in fixes? Well, some of you, I’m sure, haha. Luckily, I covered a few fixes when I prepped the preview for 29, so I just added seven more to the list, a few of which were easy-peasy to implement. List below the cut, as usual! (EDIT, 2021: One new fix applied, listed in bold under the cut below!)
Also, quick Translation Note: when Judai attacks with Wild Jaggyman, he declares his attack on the two REDDs, but we see WJ also attack Spear Dragon; this is because of his effect making him attack all opposing Monsters once each. But he only needed to attack the two REDDs to win, making Spear Dragon more just for show. That said, kudos to the dub for addressing this by having Jaden say he’ll attack all three.
Enjoy; hopefully I’ll get to start 31 soon, as the Camula episodes are some of my favorites in GX. It’ll be nice to revisit them.
The One Where Things Get Heated (Part 1) [OP/EN 1 Version]
To protect three cards hidden within the Academia from the hands of seven assassins known as the “Seven Stars,” Judai and co are given seven keys by the Principal. The first of the assassins, “Darkness,” shows himself to Judai, and the two duel in a Duel of Darkness in which the loser’s soul is sealed within a card, and Shou and Hayato are also taken as hostages. Darkness summons Red-Eyes Black Dragon and overwhelms Judai…
So I didn’t expect to end up so delayed on this one… But here we are! We kick off the Seven Stars arc with exposition on our new Phantasm Cards and Judai starting his duel against the first of the Seven, as GX starts to take a less lighthearted route compared to our road thus far. I personally enjoy the arc; there are some good duels and character moments here (Judai especially, as it’s his first taste of duels being played with stakes).
As we’re starting the arc here, I thought I’d do something unique with my finalized releases for the next few episodes. See, 99% and Wake Up Your Heart, the next OP/EN duo, officially start in episode 34, which is the Kaibaman episode. Given the imagery in 99% and how the general tone shifts starting in this episode (and also, 4Kids officially gave the show a subtitle in dub!29), I always had the feeling that, like with Burn! in ARC-V, it was meant to start earlier but didn’t. So, I wanted to start 99% and WUYH a bit earlier with this episode for my hardsubs; I’ll still be releasing the scripts with the DVDRips as originally presented. Though, since I’m aware that not everyone will be up for this tweak, I’ll also be releasing a hardsub with OP/EN 1 still in and plugging them both into my GX Masterpost. You’ll find said releases on NAC.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t have some fixes done for this episode, which were partly what led to the unintended delay, lol. Though, luckily, it wasn’t that many to work with. List below the cut, as usual!
Enjoy!
Friendly reminder that, for some reason, 4Kids thought this edit was a good idea

The One With the Grave Situation (Part 2) (Alternatively based on this cap: Duel Like An Egyptian)
Judai and the Gravekeeper Chief continue their duel. Judai’s evolve-Winged-Kuriboh combo gets blocked off, causing him to lose his chance at a comeback just as the Gravekeeper Chief summons himself to the field. Once he does, Judai reestablishes himself and draws Edgeman. However, as a result of lacking sacrifices, he can’t summon him…
And here’s episode 28! Wraps up our brief exposure to this alternate world as Judai finishes his duel with the Chief. Features Necrodarkman’s first appearance and a few cool shots of Judai. Don’t go missing the land of three suns too much… (Also, fun fact: the nice bit about Judai looking up to Yugi and his winning “lots of Duels of Darkness” was rewritten in the dub. For reasons I can’t explain. *shrug*)
Only four fixes this time, three card-related and one minor one involving lip-flaps; details below the cut, as usual. I’ll be starting work on 29 later this week, getting us finally into the Seven Stars arc, which I’ve been looking forward to finalizing. I’ll have 28 posted onto NAC tomorrow. Enjoy!
tfw you’re better at card placement than the paid official folks at 4Kids Entertainment
Through an invite from Professor Daitokuji, Judai and the others head to ancient ruins for an extra-credit class. There, they go on a trip to an ancient world, where they become suspected of graverobbing. With Daitokuji and co. on the line, Judai begins a duel against the Gravekeeper Chief. It’s a Game of Darkness, and Judai feels real pain out of it. Gravekeeper Assassin and Gravekeeper Shaman are just some of what’s summoned from the Gravekeeper Deck, and the Field Magic “Ravine of the Royal Family - Necrovalley” also prevents interference with the Cemetery.
This took a little longer than I’d planned, lol. But finally, it’s GX 27! This is a neat little episode that gives us some lore behind the Academia with the “kinda ruined” ruins, and it also becomes Judai’s second Duel of Darkness to set the stage for what’s to come in the next arc. The world they’re sent to is also interesting, and I’d keep it in mind when we jump back into Season 3…
Part of what took so long with this one were the edits, which weren’t too difficult, but the main issue was squeezing them in with my work schedule; I tried to get many of them done during my hour lunch at work, lol. There were about 8 edits altogether, 8 being card fixes; I’ll let you guess what one of the remaining two were. List below the cut as usual, for the curious.
I also decided to use the textless version of the OP that was originally used on the actual episodes, now that it made its way onto the webs; it’s different from the version that was released textless previously/used for 4Kids’s openings, as it has the different sky, the pause with Manjoume before it zooms out to show Judai during the “Get on the deck!” parts (as opposed to just the slow zoom), and the different background during Asuka’s Cyber Angels bit and Judai with Sparkman and Bubbleman. It also kept the original animation error with Water Dragon and the unused [unfortunately] Fire Dragon having red and blue behind them, respectively, so I snipped the fixed one from the “V2″ to include it. I also fixed Burstlady at the end to fix her lack of a strap (for some reason they colored her shoulder the strap color…). I’ll be going back to 1-26 to add this version, along with updating the EDs after 18 while I’m at it to fix a staff credit error I’ve been meaning to fix.
Enjoy! 28 should take less time, hopefully!
So apparently, “Sunshine - A Soaring Hallelujah”/”Kaisei Joshou Hallelujah” had its V1 released on that compilation DVD with all the textless OPs/ENs from DM-5D’s a while back, and I didn’t know. V1 had the sky looking different behind Judai and co, but notably, it also had this shot of Manjoume pause before it pans out to show Judai:

(@tsureh @aneroticporkcutletbowl look at that, all that work on this shot for no reason XD;)
when you get one of your fave monsters out and it gets returned to your hand
The One With the Brotherly Angst (Part 2)
The duel between Judai and Manjoume Thunder continues. Manjoume’s Armed Dragon becomes a Level-7 (ATK/ 2800), and Judai’s made to go on the defense. Judai uses Special Hurricane to sweep out his Armed Dragon. Judai realizes that Manjoume’s feelings aren’t about him, but about his brothers in the audience. Manjoume once again summons Armed Dragon LV7, but with the mental upper hand, Judai plots a brilliant counterattack.
Not too long of a delay after 25, is it? Here’s 26, the thrilling conclusion! We get a good bit of character development continuing for Manjoume in how he feels towards his brothers and it resolving a bit before a final resolution in a little while. The duel goes well, too, and Judai’s upset was fun to watch. There were some fun shots mixed in too, like that bit early on with Armed Dragon LV7 destroying Featherman, and then the final Manjoume Thunder bit, lol.
So, with this done, I’ll be tackling my portion of the DSoD script for GX_ST, then starting 27. If Videa turns out to be good to my uploads, then I’ll probably try to migrate all my subs to it at some point for my stream masterpost, since I know Cloudy’s given some people issues.
There were also some fixes to this episode, though thankfully not as many, and more on the card and quick touchup side of things. Full list below. Enjoy!
The One With the Brotherly Angst (Part 1)
It’s the Interschool Match between the Academia and the North Campus, and a hardened Manjoume–called “Manjoume Thunder” at the North Campus–stands before a high-spirited Judai. Judai and Manjoume Thunder duel, and through the power of the Manjoume family, it’s all live on TV. Manjoume’s Armed Dragons are Level-Up Monsters that get stronger with each turn, and with their strengthening Monster Effects, Judai’s E-Heroes are left at wit’s end…
*crashes onto your dash weeks late with Starbucks*
Didn’t mean for this one to take so long! I think it’s partly getting used to my schedule under my new job and trying to squeeze in all the editing and stuff. Also uploaded this one on a different site, as Cloudy’s been giving me trouble this weekend, but I’ll see if this one would work better going forward, since I know Yami on NAC’s posted ARC-V for a while on there and I’ve had people telling me they’ve had issues using Cloudy through my masterpost.
But anywho, 25′s finalized! My favorite Judai and Manjoume duel, this one sees them clash in ideals, Judai’s happy-go-lucky attitude going up against the stress Manjoume has going on, and it comes to a good conclusion next episode. Samejima and Ichinose talk of a special prize on the line, but what could it be? Find out in Part 2! It’s not what you expect.
(Also, TL Note: worth noting that the confusion Judai has going on when Manjoume’s all “It’s me” is because of him talking about himself in the third person with “-san,” in case some of you are new to the Thunder.)
Part of the delay with this one was the edits I had going on, which were tough to fit into my schedule when I’d get home with an hour or two before I had to sleep for work the next day. But there were a few, ranging from Burstlady’s unfortunate strap incidents to card fixes. Listed below the cut, as usual.
I’m going to at least work on the script for 26 much of this week, and hopefully I won’t have many edits to work on there. Once I do, I have a side-project or two to get some more done with for some people, but I’ll see about how I’ll squeeze it in, as I’m also helping with translating Dark Side of Dimensions’s script for GX_ST since it’s the big movie for the franchise that has been a part of my life for so long. Why aren’t there more days in the week though
Enjoy!
