“Up/down, that’s how it goes–or so we learn
Feel it! Your heart’ll bu-bu-bu-burn!”
So, this is a preview of a thing I did. be gentle
I’ve been wanting to try dubbing this song for a while now, ever since I whipped up my translation for it, and, well, I was a bit bored this past Saturday night, haha. This is a really good song, though; very upbeat/motivational (it was my morning commute wake-up jam for a while), and I did kinda channel myself a bit in that translation because I really feel that sense of having “so much to face that I’m nervous” and wanting to “blow into the next phase [of our lives]” on a spiritual level. So, hopefully I did the song some justice, lol.
I did dub the full song, and I just edited it down into the TV-size here. I’m working on a little amv to go with the full song, so I’ll post that when I get it done. I do think the full thing came out well, and I think it sounds good in this TV-size version, maybe a few words aside here/there, so hopefully you guys like it!
Just curious, I don’t suppose anyone’s seen individual renders of Dark Yugi, Kaiba, and Anubis (bonus if his Sphinxes are in as well) from this promo art for Pyramid of Light?

I wanted to recreate the TV ad for POL’s airing on Japanese TV as shown in GX 13′s TV rip, using footage from the HQ movie and all, to either add it to my DVDRip or have it up as an extra. But when the movie’s title comes up, it has Anubis, Kaiba, and Yugi zoom into the screen with their monsters, and then they all zoom out towards “us” individually, with Anubis being the oddball who moves down, lol.
So if anyone has/has seen these arts for them individually (again, bonus for his Sphinxes and BESD) or at least in good enough quality that they can just be cut out and can either point me toward them or send them my way, it’d be much appreciated! Or if anyone has/knows any other similar renders I could use, that could work too! I know I could just use that footage from the TV spot, but it’d really stick out quality-wise. Though, I probably will if no one’s seen these anywhere.
Thanks!
For those interested, 5D’s Episode 13′s comparison is now up and loaded! Featuring the infamous “Mr. Amnesia Man” subplot that had no reason to be added. I wish I could forget it, though… Enjoy!
Also, I’ll be giving the previous ones a slight makeover in terms of screencap size, and adding a spot to credit who’s responsible for adapting the script in each episode (that I’ll fill in once I get more of the DVD/Webrips). Just so we know who to blame for the cringe-worthy episodes.
So, after @yugiohblogstuff made the post saying that France recently aired Shun VS Sora Part Deux (aka “CarpetBombing - The Episode”), I was Googling around to see if I could find it streaming anywhere. The network that airs it did have it online, I think, but not being in France, I couldn’t play it: http://replay.gulli.fr/replay/video/dessins-animes/yu_gi_oh_arc_v/VOD68336198205000
(^Could be a general page, dunno if it has everything aired so far; here’s 34′s link; called “Se montrer à la hauteur”)
I ran that title through Google and got this TV listing site where they list what episodes air when, and looking at 37′s page, titled “Yugo VS Yuto” (considering they used dub names like Shay/Shun for the other summaries, like this one for 38 (which uses Lulu for Ruri, too):
I’d take it to mean that Yugo’s going to keep his name, after all. My question is, how are they going to handle the gag with his name “linking” him to Academia? (And more importantly, why is Isao now Iggy? Uh…)
All that said, maybe someone in France can look into that link for 34 and see if it’s anything? It’d be good to know how that episode fared, haha; the site I use to check on the Italian dub’s still on 32, so I dunno if they’ve aired it yet, too.
Aaaand intrusions aside, here you go, guys! Took unexpectedly longer than I expected it to, but it’s all done.
Misawa and Manjoume prepare for a duel against each other, Manjoume’s seat in Obelisk Blue on the line. At the same time, both Misawa’s friendship and rivalry with Judai Yuki deepen. (YGO Wikia)
List of Edits (really, two big ones, then some minor ones)
Enjoy! Some Translation Notes under the cut, if you’re so inclined:
No problem, haha. So, basically, it all originated from ZeXal episode 30, which involved a guy who was all about tomatoes. From what I hear, the actual episode was so ridiculous that, once the subs came out (or once they’d been around for a while), they were put on other episodes “for the lulz,” generally serious episodes, and eventually they were put on the other series; some people have even put them on other non-YGO series!
Really, it’s just amazing how well they fit their new context sometimes, haha.
And here’s Speaking, a fun one to tackle–so damn catchy! Note that these translations are likely to change once the full version’s out; I’ll likely want to fix up the rhyme scheme a bit. But otherwise, enjoy!
(EDIT: And they did; updated the lyrics accordingly. Read my full lyrics here.)

Really ENJOYing this new tune, as much as I’ll miss Unleash and all, but also fun to translate; can’t wait for the full version. Meanwhile, feel free to use these lyrics!

So, I gave ARC-V 10′s dub a look last night, and since it’s one of my favorites, I’m doing some side-by-side comparing now. Overall, I thought it was a lot better than episode 9′s dub was–the dialogue wasn’t as cringe-inducing, and the half with Yuzu VS Julia/Masumi was actually well-done; hell, aside from a tweak or two, Julia’s chants for her Gem-Knights were pretty much lifted from Masumi! On the other hand, for some reason, Kit/Yaiba didn’t get any chants, which gave those Synchro shots a good deal of awkward silence. Also, is it me, or did it sound like some of Kit’s lines were cut short during editing? They don’t sound like they ended naturally, if that makes sense lol.
And finally got the subbed version re-uploaded!
This is Japanese!BBT after tons of audio editing and a rescored soundtrack to include more tunes from GX and DM that the official version didn’t include, opting instead for more 5D’s music than anything (which, while I love the 5D’s tunes, considering it’s a crossover/anniversary movie, sharing the love would’ve been cool). Sparked by the disappointment most fans felt over at Janime/NeoArkCradle over that, suggestions were brought up, GoldenUmi from GX_ST gave me audio tracks to work with, I worked some editing magic to get rid of most of the leftover music, timed the new songs, leveled them out volume-wise and added some SFX where needed, and BOOM goes the dynamite. It’s not entirely perfect, though, given said editing and having lost the original tracks to try and fix it with, but it’s at least watchable.
(I did tweak the dialogue a bit to match the original more, moreso in the beginning by switching some lines around or muting others (and just realized I missed a good chance with Jaden’s “about to get closer!” line in the first scene), and I added back monster sounds for the most part. Some parts might sound like they’re missing SFX; I really just put more effort into making the Japanese version sound good, lol.)
Subs originally by GX_ST/TnKP, edited by me.
Enjoy! Hope that helps, neoxyzero! :)

So, I’ve been working on and failing to get the subbed version of BBT up with the new score on Cloudy for who knows what reason, yet the dubbed version I made somehow works. :S
So, here’s this for the time being, while I work on getting the subbed version to upload. neoxyzero, if you’d like, you can check this out for the time being!
If you can edit text or a picture to glow like this in Photoshop or Premiere…
…then I want to ask, would you be willing to help me edit this scene? :D
I’m debating whether or not to translate the kanji or repeat what I did with the “touki” scroll in episode 9 and put the English text over the kanji, and whether it’s doable with just Aegisub or I could use some good Photoshop help… Hmm. I’ll probably decide once I finish the rest of the episode (just starting the duel), but figured I’d throw this out there for now, lol.
GX 106: Judai and Johan of the Gem Beast Deck
Whoooooo, BOY, this was a lot of fun. And by “fun,” I mean “HOW THE HELL DO I SQUEEZE THESE SYLLABLES IN AND STILL MAKE IT FLOW?!” I still don’t think I entirely succeeded there in the chorus/other small spots (especially in the “No! Akiramenai!” line; as a guide, I smashed “they[]would” together so you get an idea of how it should be; like “thiiiiings won’t always end the way we thought theywould will they–no! …”), but after rehearsing it for like, an hour, I think it should work?? Hopefully lol, especially if you practice it with the instrumental a bit. Other than that, yep, another singable translation for you guys; do with it what you’d like! :)

Just putting this info out there, in case anyone’s able to buy the DVDs for these, lol. Looking around on a Japanese blog out of curiosity to see which Turn has which OPs/ENs, and found these out:
Turn 13 (49-52, released July 15th)
-Unleash (the early pre-53 version with recycled footage)
-ARC of Smile!
Turn 14 (53-56, released August 19th)
-Unleash (Jack and Crow revealed, but Scarlight hidden)
Turn 8 was the one with BURN! pre-Yuri reveal (and also without the updates to Yuya in some earlier shots) and Future Fighter!, but for some reason, they never released BURN! with Yuri revealed and the other changes at the end on Turns 9-12. Maybe they’ll go back to it on Turn 15 before releasing Unleash V3 on 16? Otherwise, I might try editing it haha. (And then we’d have to maybe hope for another textless OP/EN compilation)
(For those wondering, the other textless OPs/ENs that are already out are up over on NAC)
