Sunshine - A Soaring Hallelujah/Kaisei Joushou Hallelujah (My TV-Size Fandub)

Phew, been a while since I did a song fandub! Last one being my VOICE one a while back haha.

So yeah, I remembered I still had my mic around and felt like doing a fandub a few days ago.  I originally wanted to try singing Kouji Wada’s “The Biggest Dreamer” from Digimon Tamers with full lyrics based on JessOtaku’s translation since I made them a while ago and it’s an awesome song, but my voice wasn’t matching well lol.  So somehow I ended up on Kaisei/Sunshine here, and I had singable lyrics around from when I did my sub of the song’s PV a year+ ago, so I just updated them a bit and tried it out.  I was originally going to shoot for the full version, but since I was trying TBD and Kaisei the same night, I guess my voice was getting too tired, so I just settled for the TV-size haha.  Also took a bunch of takes and sorting out the lines so I could try them in the different styles you hear, and while some parts could be a bit better, I think it came out decent enough for only spending 3-4 days on it!

In which Judai VS The Power of Leather Pants

Well, here it is, our final episode! I was really starting to think I wouldn’t get to say “I’ve finished subbing GX,” but… I’ve finished subbing GX! The duel between Judai and Yugi continues, until an unexpected guest makes his way in.  It’s been a fun ride, so to commemorate the occasion, you’ll see three tweaks I did here:

1. I used an updated version of Precious Time, Glory Days that Psychic Lover did in 2009, IIRC, for the opening to spice things up (I’m personally a fan of both, but either way, I’ll have both versions up for download on NAC when I post 180 with 179 in the next day or two)
2. I spent a few weeks working on an ending montage over Endless Dream, since I always felt it was a bit underwhelming that we didn’t get much of anything special for GX’s final minutes.  Thanks to blackthunder-chan (and anyone else who might’ve) for helping me flesh out my ideas for it!
3. As I recreated the last “best card”/sponsor clip, since there wasn’t a message there originally, I decided to add a “thanks for the support” one like 5D’s had at the end, and throw in a “Gotcha!” for good measure, since I saw ZeXal’s last message had a “Bring it to ‘em, everyone!” kind of message lol. (You’ll notice when I upload the DVDRip to NAC that I have it there in Japanese, minus the “-GLL99” part lol)

Also, a little side-note: it was a bit hard to tell if Judai’s voiceover lines at the end of the duel were him thinking them in the moment or if it was him narrating.  Because of the narration he did in the beginning, I assumed it was him looking back in retrospect again; at least if 4Kids dubbed it, it might’ve given me an idea just to make sure haha (the Italian dub doesn’t echo thoughts, either).

And like I say at the end, thanks for all the support! :) It’s nice that I’ve seen this through to the end after 6+ years at it, and now I’ve subbed every episode of GX; granted, I still want to go and finalize Seasons 1 and [most of] 2, but yeah. XD

Also, special thanks to se-to-oh/the-supremeking for editing the postcard, and for all the help she’s been with throwing my translations onto things over the course of Season 4! :)

Endless Dream (Ep. 180 Version) - In Memoriam of GX (Teaser)

All right, guys, this thing is finally done! I just finished briefly retiming/fixing up the credit subs to flow with the video, and this is a teaser of how the subbed version will look at the end of 180.  I stopped it where I did because I didn’t want to spoil the rest until then. :P

From where the other clip’s post left off (some of which I replanned as I was going along haha), I have stuff from the Supreme King arc going on during the bridge while clips from Seasons 1-4 play around it, followed by clips from the Judai/Yubel duel’s ending surrounded by clips of each bad guy, which fade out as the shot of fireworks going off outside the Duel Academia from 179 comes into view.  

That goes into everyone getting their diplomas in the chorus, with their determination clips from 178 (where Judai talks them out of Darkness’s World) in the corner, followed by Judai’s re-run-in with Yugi in 179 with clips from their duel in the corner.  Then, shots of Judai in a pinch against the bad guys, which’ll go into his turnaround/finishing moves against them.  The rest, you’ll have to wait for! I’ll put the textless version of this montage up for download on NAC when I post 180.

Endless Dream (Ep. 180 Version) - In Memoriam of GX (WIP)

For tonight’s update on this little guy, I figured I’d give you guys a little video preview! After trying to figure out why Vegas blacked out a few of the clips and then it was as easy as disabling resampling gahhh

Basically, I’m up to the bridge now, so I’ve thrown in the clips I wanted to throw in since yesterday’s update (note: positions/choices are still subject to change if I get nitpicky lol), ending the verses with Judai snapping as Manjoume and co bite the dust.  The plan now is to showcase Judai as the Supreme King, with surrounding clips showing stuff that went on in the tail end of Season 3, from Dark World to Judai VS Yubel!Johan, up to “together they fight!”, and then from “tobira no mukou ni”, we’ll have S4!Judai and stuff from Season 4 around him, before fading in the finale to Judai VS Yubel behind those clips to lead into the chorus.
